it's more formal, there's no relaxation evident. usually when thunal posts in other games I can see her warming up to playing and she gets more comfortable as she plays. here I'm just seeing that "discomfort" stick around. she doesnt have that spark of excitement she gets when she starts solving something. she's solving her but it feels like she's just going through the motions

You're wrong about the lack of excitement. I was a bit bored and not motivated d0 since not much was going on but I felt a rush of excitement that I caught a wolf when I pushed Hyena, and same with when I looked through Falcon's ISO. I think through my posts more in normal length games, maybe that's what you're seeing?

I put a lot of thought into my posts as either alignment. I double check things and write things down and make sure my tone isn't wrong or forced. It feels restrictive but I do it anyway since I don't want to be in the PoE and I hate being yeeted. Turbos and video mafia feel more freeing since I can actually be myself without having to look at my posts under a microscope since I don't have the time to do that. Maybe I should stop overanalyzing my posts, I don't know, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to accept the downturn in results I think will come from that. I like being a good player and I want to be a better player, I take this game seriously especially in the long forum format. I just wish that the best strategy was to be myself but from experience I don't think it is. I'll try not to overthink quite as much, I guess, but I don't know what will come from that.

I think I've seen scum say similar before, but generally to partners rather than townies. I have a weak townread on Michelle just because of the amount of content she's giving and that she seems fairly comfortable (and I think those things are AI for her).

Tone is good but is that within their scum-range....?

I initially thought this was a response to me in which case it was really good on basis of regency, but a few posts later they give a separate response to me.

But looking at their ISO for the past 30 posts or so I kinda feel like I should give them the benefit of the doubt and call them a town-lean. If they're scum then I'll learn to take greater care on reading them. However, I have this gut feeling they're playing or thinking in a similar manner as to they once were in Grasslands. Like, it feels familiar and I don't want to muddy that with thoughts of WIFOM.

It's not a direct response to anything, it's a line of thought I went down by myself after people called my tone stiff.

I literally can't comprehend why I'm the top wagon but I'll try to focus on other things. I'm tired and really drained so I'm not exactly motivated to solve right now but I'll look at Falcon's ISO.

It bothered me before and it still bothers me that Falcon is making pushes but not putting much thought behind them or actually caring if they get voted. I feel like here he cares more about saying "x is mafia," "x is town" so he has reads and not really thinking through them. And it also doesn't seem like he cares about getting votes onto Alison even though he believes she's wolf.

More general thoughts: I'm trying to hunt this game partially based on how much people care about their reads. Mafia can still scumhunt but they don't actually care who gets yeeted as long as it's not one of their team.

I am cynical on people who vote out indie claims. They're easy pushes because they won't be met with a lot of resistance and it's easy to look townie there because it gives off the impression that you are doing something.
I think my reasons are stronger, but I endorse yours as well.

I feel like he's just going through the motions this game and not actually caring about his pushes. He doesn't have the same amount of thought as I've seen him have before and I get the feeling he doesn't really care who gets yeeted even though he wolfreads Alison (and I feel like he isn't thinking through his wolfreads on Alison and Michelle).

I'm not sure about Cat, and I don't think they should have more votes than Falcon. I looked at their ISO and they just feel like a random LHF who's spent very little time in the game. If anything I think they actually believe their Nutella vote since I don't think Nutella would be a planned misyeet.

The reason I suspected Cat initially was a post they made defending Made from a Mac prod. It immediately gave me the impression of a nervous protection of a teammate. It was not long after that that they dropped a scummy vote on Nutella. This morning I followed up on it. I went and checked their full progression on Made and became convinced Cat was mafia. I also found the interactions between the two of them teammate indicative, given their timing; with Made reacting to Cat with the old "oh hai have we met" stereotype and Cat sort of soft batting it, while they were otherwise at odds with one another (don't quote this wall and pick this point out to argue with because yes it's weak and maybe NAI).

At present, the main concern I have is their progression from RVS through to unvoting Made feeling too constructed. Lacking the random energy of town and being too mindful of not appearing "scummy". As you'll see I have picked that up with Cat with two separate pushes. This one, and also their rising anti-Nutella sentiment having the same over-constructed approach.

When you add their relatively low content volume, the relative incisiveness of their perspectives vs. their volume and the lack (until now) of any real push against them. I do believe you have a mafia.

also i have a dumb reservation about them being w/w which is incidentally the interaction you quoted where they act up not knowing each other. the truth is they played together in christmastime mafia and i guess didn't remember, and this might be dumb but i think if they were in a wolf chat they would have realized already so unless you think that interaction was faked to the extent that they fully pretended that, i think it does make it less likely.
I baited the entire thing out of Made tbh. His reaction to everything was exactly what I'd expect him to do as a mafia teammate. He just went straight to pocketing me and agreeing with my push. There was no willingness to object in the slightest. It made me far more convinced.

Do you find Made scummy independently of Cat? I can see why they might be teammates if Cat is scum but I haven't found Made scummy individually (in part because I believe the "trying to increase his townrange thing).

A role that could choose one person from the living to talk to a dead person each night. I thought it was a town role at first because of what it was but someone brought up that there was a role like that that was scum and I wanted to know if Hyena's role was specifically based on that scum role.

1. Okay, it's called forgetting. I remembered scum had a similar role but didn't remember that it was the exact role. I don't understand how that would be mafia indicative at all. Please explain at a basic level how exactly that's a scumslip or scum indicative in any way.

Mac says I'm caught mafia because he thinks me forgetting that Hyena's exact role was scum in a different game was somehow a scumslip. I'm not even sure why he thinks I scumslipped but he's saying I'm caught mafia.

Yes, that's what I was doing. I wanted to know if Hyena's flavor was based on the scum role but I also forgot whether that exact role had been scum in a different game or only a similar role. I also want to know if Raifiki's original role is anything like Hyena's role here (if not it might be fakeclaim flavor). If nobody will answer my question I guess I'll just dig through past games myself.

I read those ISOs and I think what sticks out is that Cat's scum ISO feels way more terse and explainy than any of their town games. In their town games they're okay with going off one small reason for a vote but as scum they feel like they have to overexplain everything. They also feel less comfortable as scum. (wrote this before I looked at Cat this game)

Cat this game is more similar to their scum ISO. I kinda thought they were a random LHF before but they do show the same patterns of being uncomfortable and more explainy with their suspicions than as town. They can be scum.

People I don't feel great about but don't suspect as strongly as the above three: 112, Dya, Hyena

thanks! yeah I didn't see it. I suspect Hyena more for that then since Hyena's claim is completely different from the original role and there was a scum role that was Hyena's. Also I wouldn't expect town to claim with 48 hours left in the day when they risk being soup killed. I'm not going to vote Hyena today incase he gets soupkilled tonight but I skimmed his ISO and I suspect him.

I just wanted someone else who knows her to weigh in because she's also been trying to convince me that she's not a wolf by blaming it on the type of game or that she feels more free in turbos

I really can't change my tone in this game but I didn't say "it's just the type of game." It's probably because of real life, I'm moving back to school so I'm focused on things other than this game.

Arguments for me being a wolf:
-I don't have the motivation/solving spark as in other games
-My tone is less emotional and more formal
-I'm not pushing people as hard

I don't see why you get to that I'm a wolf from those. I'm putting as much effort in this game as I can (probably more effort than I can at some points tbh) and I feel badly that it's somehow not showing. I'm moving back to school and I also have a lot of work to do so I'm stressed out and can't focus on this game as much as I can for most games. I'm not super excited right now because my mind isn't on this game, it's on going back to school. My tone being stiff/formal is completely normal for me (as you can see if you skimmed the town games I linked, but I don't think anyone did) and it's unfair to compare turbos to normal games.

it's not about effort, it's about tone and how you're solving

Iwish you'd stop blaming yourself for activity levels because god knows you've been active

thunal, even though I'm wolf reading you this game, I have a ton of respect for you and your game and I usually get there on you being a villager. You don't have to convince me you're worthy. it's not about that

I know it's not that you don't respect me and I'm not blaming myself for activity, I'm genuinely confused and frustrated that I can't stop being different because my real life circumstances are different and the game circumstances are also different. I'm frustrated that despite my effort I feel like I don't have anything to show for it. I think after I get settled back in school and finish the big assignment I have (I'm moving back Sunday) then I might have more of that spark.

Pretty much everyone around is guilty. The people who openly don't give a shit are the towniest right now. Kylemii and Syn from what i can tell.
Inbetween me arriving and making my second post. I don't know the full context, but Thunal writes a defense, and Dyachei skips half of it and focuses on the emotional content. I don't know if Thunal is actually suspicious but it makes thunal look towny from an outsider's perspective.
