Re: Girl Genius (Day 4)
Give me about an hour and I’ll come back to this. The short of it is that the sense I’ve gotten of Dom from what others have told me and from what I’ve read of games that he’s in and even in this game is that he’s an aggressive player in general. Given that, the expectation would be that he finishes his cases. Dom instead hasn’t finished any cases.juliets wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 5:15 pm Ok, I don't see where Dom pushed for her after his ISO. I guess the thing I've got to wrestle with is whether this is just a style point, i.e., this is the way Dom does his ISO's. It will help me Tony when you give some meat to your feeling that he's "off".

What I was talking about was your behavior as scum down the road in Arrowverse, specifically you started out fine with all those one line posts you do but then by Day 3 you had petered out and then ultimately got replaced. Your behavior in this game now reminds me of that one. You didn't post at all Day 3 that I saw and I didn't see any reason you weren't here. Now you are moaning that you don't want to be here. Why should I still believe you are town? Isn't your behavior here like it was in Arrowverse?

Re: Girl Genius (Day 4)
Hello I just read Dom games for almost an hour and I am not able enough to parse what is going on in most of them to make a compelling argument on that front. I am obliged by honor as well not to talk about another ongoing game, which is the only real opportunity I’ve had to get a feel outside of this game for how Dom plays. I am not spending more time on this I have things to get done tonight.juliets wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 5:20 pmOK Tony that would be great. It is, however, scummy in general not to finish cases. Town has investment in cases, a town ISO suggests that an attempt was made to gain information and make some progress towards town victory. A town member who believes they have strong evidence also believes that this is the key to success and will always pursue that outside of specific examples otherwise. Because almost all mafia ISOs/reads are performative they do not in theory have investment in the cases they've made because they have not gained information. Mafia is free to make any statements but isn’t compelled to act on them because they don’t have new information to defend — they already know who is scum and who is not. This doesn’t mean that mafia members are more likely to change their mind or that town members are less likely to do so but it does mean that Mafia has no reason to be attached to reads.
Of note: this has been the cornerstone of at least two cases previously made in this game: mine against Epi 1.0 and Epi’s against Luna. Both were wrong(ish).

Rare time I use the word "actually."
A revisit: after day 1 lynch I said that either Creature was scum or everyone on his wagon was. I just checked and everyone on his wagon has since flipped to not be on BTSC. Cool.
I think he’s like sixth or seventh most likely to be scum which translates to maybe 30 percent. He isn’t currently contributing much to town but he isn’t gone enough to be a liability to town come endgame. So don’t lynch him? Maybe? LC and Dom and Drago and Owner are all more likely scum in my opinion.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 4)
One bucket is LC and the people on LC. One bucket is the scummy players who have contributed a lot to the game and have interactions that are prohibitive to all three being scum. One bucket is the skaters. Between those three buckets are the eight players I think are most likely to be scum. On a rough probability scale the other 6 sum to over 50 percent likelihood of scum so I threw that in as the fourth group.

It's interesting. Technically since we can't change votes these posts don't function like a simple extension of the day phase and thus I guess could theoretically provide some anti-rules advantage. But I have no clue what those advantages would be so I think it's fine to just read it as a day phase running long.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 4)
Okay Dom in the other game which we can now talk about you were town and pursued a case about another townie aggressively. Here you "lead" the case against Nutella except that was basically an ISO and a vote; you put more substance into the case here but to me it seemed like it lacked the same passion. Maybe I'm wrong. Obviously different circumstances and all that, but someone said something I think in this game that gave me the impression that you are in fact generally a very aggressive player and that is not the impression I've gotten so far. Again, maybe I'm wrong.
On the "vague case" thing. Yes it's vague. Oh well. I think you're scum. I don't have a wall of evidence. Most good players aren't going to leave behind a wall of evidence. Also Nutella would still have full interest in hunting scum given her role; the fact that she was neutral doesn't make that case any less viable.
On the "whatever to whoever" thing. Fair I guess. I tried to define "off" but it didn't really go so well. To clear things up I didn't intend for equal opportunity attacker to be negative and when I reviewed some of your games I saw a lot of posts of the same style so I'm going to call it NAI.
On the salad thing (which I'm getting very defensive about and if when the game is over I was in fact correct you guys are gonna be hearing about it): it's not? I don't think? I don't see the connection between my attempt to generate discussion on mafia teams and me giving any sort of non-committal preferences on lynches, which is what I thought salad is. Please enlighten me if I am in fact wrong.

Any reason why you're defensive on that?
Okay fine. You lynched Nutella. Here’s a star. I’m sorry for attacking you for not adequately lynching Nutella. (Yes you actually did do a lot of effort to the end of lynching Nutella I’m not going to dispute that and there’s a chance that I have a distorted hindsight view which is leading me to believe that you didn’t actually care).
You’re a good player that’s why I wouldn’t expect to find a lot of information that would clue me into your affiliation.
It didn’t go well because maybe I was wrong is probably the correct assessment. Or else no one who’s better at articulating these things picked up on the same vibes that I did. I don’t know.
I’m defensive cause I thought it was a good idea and no one else liked it and I was sad.

All the lynched were "meh"? Is that the situation we're in? Help an old man out here.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 1:22 amI do not like these situations we’re in where all of the lynched are “meh”.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 5)
My paranoia is still on Dizzy of those two; I’m not willing to clear Dom out of some whimpering sense of pride but I think he’s probably fine; Jack posted something yesterday that made me think he was town for a really weird reason but outside of that I have no reason to let him go.Long Con wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 1:25 am Um, what else? Dyslexicon and Epignosis, I don't see them both being baddies and putting on this big show or something. I am concerned about one of them being bad. Of course my mind puts Epignosis there... it could be such a smooth plan to sub in for a baddie role to berate the Civvies for low-posting and keep the posting engine generally revved up enough that it's very difficult to find reason to lynch him. Paranoid? Maybe. Or maybe not. We'll see at endgame.
Dizzy, Epi, Jack, and Dom are all good in my books, for reasons and maybe optimism?
I am rarely in this position but I just need someone to be a voice of reason and tell me what to do.

I am aware and I would never consider that to be valid info towards a player’s alignment. It’s essentially out of game info.juliets wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 9:40 amTony, fyi, iirc LC is always invisible whether he's playing a game or not. I don't consider this as alignment indicative.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 5)
Timmer has a post count in the 70s, but the only things I remember from that are a weird idea on Creature / Owner / Drago being w/w/w (which actually is pretty townie now that I think about it cause scum wouldn’t make claims like that if Creature was gonna flip town) and a fight with Rej day 1.juliets wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 9:43 amI think someone already asked you why, I just want to reinforce that. What are you seeing about timmer at this time?TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 1:12 am I was gonna ask you the same thing. Do you want to try to lynch each other?
If not I’m voting for Timmer for now.

Why did I give up a bit? I thought there existed a meta case and I read some of your previous games and it seemed par for the course. At which point I’m basing my entire meta case on a game currently in process.Dom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:42 amWhy?TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:38 amI suspected you. Re: Girl Genius (Day 5)
I’m not clearing for potential derps because of the ones I remember were of the sort where it’s like “this is stupid if you’re town and easy to fake if you’re scum”. Also I think that’s a stupid strategy for scum to emulate and so I’m on principle not going to give someone a townread for one so I can’t be tricked on it.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:46 am And nobody answered me about what they think of potential derps and about Epi. A "idk" is fine/shrugface
Epi is shrug.

One with Ancient Greece, one weird one that I couldn’t really track that seemed to take place in several different threads, a few where you posted once or twice a day and then died.Dom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:53 amSounds like you never had a case in the first place.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:46 amWhy did I give up a bit? No I thought that Dom wasn’t aggressive enough and that some of his posts looked scummy. And maybe meta but that went south. Apparently everyone else thinks he’s town.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:58 am I don't really follow the Dom/Tony argument really well. Tony says he is suspicious of Dom because meta? Re: Girl Genius (Day 5)
Well I read the games after making the case and you didn’t have many recent ones to choose from. The case I pushed while you were here was not in any way based on those games.Dom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 11:07 amYou chose a game where I died on Night 3, a game that was hard to follow, and a game I didn't quite play to base your entire case against me that you pushed hard while I wasn't here?TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:57 amOne with Ancient Greece, one weird one that I couldn’t really track that seemed to take place in several different threads, a few where you posted once or twice a day and then died.Dom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:53 amSounds like you never had a case in the first place.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 10:46 amWhy did I give up a bit? Do I have that right?
If I wanted to I’m sure I could have found some great examples of what I was looking for but it would have been a little disingenuous.

What would forum mafia be without people misreading jokes as being serious?
