I haven’t fully read the end of day 1 when I get home I’ll find the time. But that’s the sort of thing I’ve seen mafia do to try to queue up a few lunches in the early game and avoid suspicion from running up town lynches. And also Epi is a pet scum read.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 0)
I have never liked approaching this line on kill analysis, especially on Night 1. It almost never works and has the only purpose of eliminating entire possible teams which is never a reasonable goal because it’s super specific and gets WIFOMy anyways. I don’t think many mafiosi would ever make a kill that would implicate themself but its so crazy WIFOM that they might for fun. In any case Sig would have killed Dizzy so it’s all negated. Or anyone else would have cause he was a top poster with some amount of Indy suspicion.Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 6:04 pmMac probably town so maybe of the cluster Epi scum? hmmm I need to keep reading.
Also, who is more likely to kill Dizzy when scum? Is there a tell for that?
There’s maybe meta to it but fundamentally when you're looking at the actions of a team it’s hard to draw any one contributor.

Okay starting at the bottom.
I don’t think this is an unreasonable suggestion and if it weren’t coming from Epi I’d be pursuing all of these avenues first and foremost. I’m not going to try to decipher what Epi would do as scum and if it’s this because that’s stupid.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 1)
I’m gonna denote this because a lot of Epi’s argument with Luna was from Luna voting for the person she hadn’t mentioned over the one she had called out at about the same point in the day of this Epi post coming after a few shots at Rej.
As far as the Rej post goes I think in retrospect it’s obviously town because it’s such a next level presumption of self-innocence and I’m gonna try to incorporate that kind of understanding into how I make reads.

Re: Girl Genius (Day 1)
A nice last second townread on Rej coming after some more pointed arguments throughout the day. Epi pushed comparatively hard for a lynch there and mentioned Creature, as far as I can tell, once. Then voted for Creature.Epignosis wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 3:12 pmThis is my largest caveat with Rej- the wording of his posts is gauche, such that I have trouble interpreting them as coming from a schemer. Think I remember that from the game he was miller (town) as well. I also feel that him insisting that "Drag should read me town" is truthful. I hear town say that much more than scum.timmer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 1:10 pm This: "does it mean that this are mostly civillians jumping over to look and make right decisions or could it be baddies who approach to save someone?"
This: "On the other side I don't know if mafia profits from mislynching Dragomir, when Dragomir approaches me or other people agressively. "
This: "I heard nutella can perform far more impressive"
The first two statements have a real calculation behind them. I don't think a civ would care this much about trying to define the makeup of a Lynch train. It's day 1. Stuff happens and we vote. But why worry about how a mislynch would look? A civ shouldn't care how a Lynch would look to baddies at all, and a civ seems less likely to use the term mislynch here because a civ rej doesn't know what drag is.
The third statement makes me wonder about btsc.
So I'm staying put.

Is this Epi trying to earn a “just want the truth” civ badge?
A few more that mildly pinged me (check the list for yourself) but from the one game I’ve played with Epi recently I have felt as if he didn’t feel the need to earn his civ badges. He also died pretty early IIRC so I didn’t see a lot of him in action, but here I feel like he’s trying to hit a few boxes here. Outside of meta that’s a strong point I’d be willing to run with, the meta addition isn’t really much.

Revisiting this. I still think it’s fake. Given that Luna has like a dozen posts I’ll take some other takes on it. It takes some amount of courage to reply to someone you just killed I’d almost never do it as mafia and I’m pretty gutsy with stuff like that. It’s a very easy thing for town to do. long answer, when I play with new names I easily forget who people are and who I had formed opinions on. I also was on my phone before end of day and didn't know how to navigate well enough to check who I had opinions on the previous day. Also I was at a wedding that started at lynch time and didn't feel comfortable using my phone for long before the ceremony started.

Okay we’re lynching Luna today. If anyone has a reason not to lynch Luna speak now.
Seeing as the day’s plan is clear, let’s try to not waste the day and pretend Luna has just died and we’re doing night 3 analysis, seeing that the thread is locked during night 3.
If Luna flips scum I think Creature is the obvious target day 4 but I don’t think that’s the right one.

Vig shots are always inherently more unreliable than lynches even in the hands of the best players so there’s a safety argument but here most of today is going to waste while we wait for the match to set off Luna, no discussion about the lynch or much anything else. Why is a lynch better than a vig shot for gaining info, when roles are revealed by night and by day?
To actually answer the question let’s say there’s player X who has a 60 percent chance of being scum and player Y who has a 95 percent chance of being scum. The obvious lynch is player Y, it’d be by unanimous vote, nothing could be deduced from the discussion or the voting record, and the vig is left to kill player X. If X flips town, rough life but there’s no additional scrutiny for those who pushed the X is scum theory. If X is scum there’s no scrutiny for those who pushed X is town.

But I think “he described meta” is a lazy argument that takes some very broad points about the ways scum tends to defend themselves and fits it into a nice quantifiable package for easy handling by those who want a cheap argument.

Would really like for people to tell me what is "typical" for Tony or not if such exists.
Normally, I "recognize" town Tony and he's really town like 80% of the time so idk if I'm pretty good at reading him or if he just happens to rand town pretty often. I think I generally just look to see if he's agreeing with me on things?

One more player on the list hasn’t flipped.Dyslexicon wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 12:40 amThis is interesting cause a lot of these players have flipped and was not mafia. What is the chance Sig names only people who's not on his team? Is Sig a tricky player?sig wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 7:26 am Sloonie and Dragomir are mafia leans.
Nova is solid town, who'll I'll probably NO U at some point.
Gut reading Nutella and LC as town.
Jul's is being her normal self which means I can't read her worth a damn.
Epi and Mac are still just messing around which is normal, but I'm expecting some weird ass shit from one of them soon.
Drag, LC and Juliet has not flipped here. I think Juliet is likely not mafia, and gut read LC town (could be wrong there I guess). Out of these I think Drag is the most likely to be mafia.

I'm not saying this is a problem. I'm saying I want to talk about it when it doesn't have a direct effect on an ongoing game.
(But seriously, I had discussions about dead player replacing in before, and there's definitely things one can discuss. But since I was asked I answered.)
Like if I'm scum and I eliminate a player because they are a scary townie or because they suspect me, the host should not then put them right back in the game.
But if the sker kills that same scary player, wolf Jack shouldn't have a say in them coming back or not.
Also, I just find the "no lynching replacements" thing fascinating and haven't played out the game theory of what that would mean for a game. I think that shouldn't happen at lylo and there are some problematic things like a red peeked wolf vigilante replacing out and now the town can't lynch them and the wolves get an extra kill via replacement. Overall, I do think giving replacements a free day is certainly a nice thing to do for replacements. Like replacing in and getting lynched for scummy things the old player did sucks and that's one reason players don't like to sign up as replacements. Another is having to act without catching up and this gives the players a guaranteed amount of time to catch up and then make an impact.
So it's probably a net positive except in some corner cases.

"If Luna is bad, then Creature is the obvious target."
That's logic I can follow.
"But Creature isn't bad."
That's logic I can't.
I meant to say who I figured the right target would be but I have since forgotten. I think it was Dom.

2. Seize control of the narrative and pretend to be sup town. People naturally follow them and they don't have to fear getting lynched. We're already seeing this shaping up.
this is why you're lynched.
Dom attacks Sig. it’s day 0 and Dom also threatens to lynch half a dozen other people so it’s not super aggressive but I don’t make anything else out from this. It’s a standard attack line, the kind of thing that’s easy to fake and easy to drop off of. But Dom also takes the line with full force, presenting a possible liability if w/w

This is in depth and critical ISO day 2 but it’s too generous? (For Dom) Is that the correct read? It seems off tone wise. Since Nutella isn’t scum it isn’t “distancing but giving outs” (unless Dom was a cult recruit) but it’s enough of a shift from how I’ve seen Dom in other games or even from Dom’s tone when less focused in this game (see day 0 or really any of his more jokey posts which are sharper) to throw me off

Thats the end of the 3:30 Dom ISO. It was rather short lived, some high quality posts and reactions but very little in terms of full substance in analysis. It also all feels off to me. The thing with sig seems forced, the case on Rej (and Nutella for that matter) seems noncommittal for how much effort was put in on Dom’s part, it just seems off.

Flip side thought though: one of the three almost has to be scum just on probability, if LC is town or scum. Would there ever be two? Maybe? If only one is scum who is most likely scum?

Re: Girl Genius (Day 4)
It’s the most stupidly frustrating thing and it theoretically devolves into a meta where mafia can play silent all game and take some easy wins and then town has to take random shots on the people who haven’t done anything and that’s just not fun for anyone it’s why all games should have a vig or sk or game mechanic dedicated to killing low/no posters and that’s my soapbox let’s save the rest of it for after the game is overJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:04 amI hate lylo replacements but I hate going into lylo where the town literally cannot win for lack of active votes even more.Dragon D. I’d be more inclined to believe a post like that to be town if Luna were found scum, because on the assumption (which in your credit you haven’t taken) that the Luna lynch were inevitable any scum would want to push that train.
To that assumption: could I have, if I had really tried, gotten Jack lynched? Or Drago? I don’t think so. Was there anyone else who could have gotten someone lynched? I cannot come up with a scenario after the first 2 or so hours of the day phase where a Luna lynch wasn’t in the cards.
