Well, I did vote for DDL, so wrong on that count. And I don’t know what explanation is necessary: I liked it because it made sense and I agreed with it, which should have been self-evident by me saying I liked it. Or would it look better of me if I quoted a bunch of posts, summarized them, did some color analysis, crunched the numbers on the last 6 DDL games played when Mercury is in retrograde, and came to the same conclusion?

Because I’m not doing that.
No, I wanted to see how you would respond. Your response was shady af. I'm happy with how I played it.

This post is weird and I may be misunderstanding it. But is colonialbob saying people scared to be held responsible will vote off wagon? Then Sloonei quotes it, not only saying he's voting off wagon, but that he's not even voting for who he wants to vote for. If you're going to vote off wagon anyways, why not go for juliets?
cbob was suggesting that we should vote for a player who was voting for wilgy at the time because a number of people were complaining that his wagon was shady and weak. Tranq was on the wagon and was a person who'd garnered a fair amount of suspicion.

Why'd you kill nutella?

DharmaHelper wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:59 am Here I will analyze TH's posts and specifically their interactions with other players:

1. Tranq Link Back and forth RE: poll options. Tranq gets up TH's ass about mentioning the possible civvieness of the poll option before voting. Pretty much IIRC the meatiest interaction Tranq has had yet. I'm gonna rate this sucker a Yellow.

2. Enrique Link Jokey "you bad?" post. Rating this one Yellow. as well since it looks like it could be distancing.

3. Epignosis Link Defends Sloonei from Epi by way of straw manning Luna. Rating this Green for Epi and Red for Sloonei and Yellow For Luna

4. G-Man Link G-Man emerges as a suspect to TH. Rating this Green for G.

5. Sloonei Link Waffley non-post about Sloonei that's also a defense without outright saying so. Red

6. Luna Link Says Luna looks "OK so far". Again not committing to much. Yellow for Luna.

7. Doc Link Defending the Doc's bullshit. Red for Doc.

8. Nutella Link "Good Catch" from nutella RE: Chuck/Sloonei. Buddying Nutella's suspicion of Chuck in order to (again) slyly defend Sloonei. Looks Green for nutella, Green for Chuck, Red For Sloonei.

9. Doc link Defends Doc by saying "more recently" he's been a civ when he's been inactive/low activity. Who gives a fuck? Red for Doc.

10. Sprityo Link Points out that sprityo is lurking and expresses a desire to lynch him. Green.

11. Doc Link Parrots my anger at Doc. Green for Doc.

So mostly bad for Sloonei and wilgy, iffy on Luna?

I never trust flavor posts out of habit (speedchuck and I probably share this) this is a role that can make anyone else they kill reveal as something else. It’s not like I can ask long con “did the trickster for real for real die?”

Linki: very well, I’ll keep that in mind sloon
The answer to your question is that it seems like it would be theoretically possible. If the trickster is bad and killed th and forged it to say th was the trickster and was bad, sure. But... why would they do that? It's interesting that you bring up such a specific question when you have barely participated.
The simplest answer is that a mafia person died. If we make that assumption, we can move forward with analyzing TH and sussing out someone to lynch today. If we get all suspicious that TH only flipped bad, and wasn't really bad, then we don't have a clear path forward for today's lynch. I'd rather assume the simplest scenario that TH was bad, and use that information to move forward.

What is the desired outcome of discussing this for civs?
Awareness, information to keep in mind

That’s all. I can’t be every player in the game so I have to make sure everyone can at least consider and dismiss or approve of information I think is relevant
How does knowing this information change the way civs should act, in your opinion?

This is your best post so far

Point 1 being I made this role concept the trickster is based off of. And I have most definitely seen it used to make a town flip as mafia looking (@ quin)

Point 2: mechanically speaking the mafia would make the town less on guard, which would further present itself as a problem later on in the game. If the trickster is still alive and can forge roles, the mafia could fake even more kills and possibly their own deaths again.

Ok same question to you - let's say we're remembering that. What does that look like? How do we take that information into account?

A hunch, i want to pursue later.
So as of right now I am the only person spirityo has accused the entire game. I don't even see a vote from them in the first lynch poll. They haven't even really shared any thoughts on anyone yet. I'm all for speculating about gameplay and roles and everything because I also do that but usually by this point in the game some of the speculation is regarding players and reads on players. Just find that interesting.

I am still not convinced wilgy isnt bad. Unless he just really doesn't care about this game at all he didn't even put up any defense about being accused or voted for. And he still really hasn't been around. It also now seems like maybe TH was defending him.

I was just speculating if TH was the trickster could he have killed nutella and someone killed him. I dont know if that really impacts anything but it would be an interesting turn of events if it did happen that way.

Can someone condense the argument on g man so I can get a better idea of where that is coming from? I didnt really get much from trying to read him before.

I know I haven't posted much there is a lot to follow and I get busy with work and things. I've been keeping up best I can though at least with reading everything.

Sloonei remarks that this is an odd thing to fixate on first, and I agree,
This post actually changes my mind on G-Man more than Luna’s vouching does. Why does a scum G-Man go in the thread to taunt the town with a mechanical quirk benefitting his team? Because taunting is fun, I gues, but this looks more like worldbuilding than anything.
Because discussing mechanics is an easy way to be "active" and scum will notice scum mechanics first.

Colin, like I said, I'm extra dumb this afternoon. What do you mean by world building?
I believe Speed used the term in Hogwart but it’s basically when a civ comes in the thread to share an observation about the game that isn’t a read or a theory, for the sake of enhancing knowledge/getting the town on the same page. Speed also noted that people here are unusually hostile to it, and I agree with him because I get flak for it all the time.
That's not at all how I would use the term world-building

(Which doesn't make me right and you wrong, just saying it holds a different meaning for me in mafia)

Luna, Kyle, DDL, Quin, G-man.

One of them killed nutella.
What's your plan if we lynch one of these 5 and they're civ?

Let's say we lynch Luna today and she's good.
Day 3 we go "oh it's one out of these 4 now, those are even better odds", we lynch Kyle and he's good.
Day 4 we lynch DDL and he's good.
Day 5 we lynch Quin and he's good.
Day 6 we lynch G-Man and he's either bad (you got good info) or not (your info was incorrect, or you lied and made us waste 5 lynches)

We could waste up to 4 lynches if the info is right, 5 if it's wrong.
Nobody has suggested that we ignore the rest of the game and spam lynches into these 5. Sloonei's just giving us more cards to play with.

Feel like you're twisting this into an accusion, almost.
And infodumping is awesome. #cpi4lyfe
Agreeing a lot with speedchuck today. Unfortunately most of it is metagame stuff but hey. This is one point of agreement that isn't.

Tranq and LoRab are on my list of teammates to the scum of the Sloonei 5, assuming there is one (which I think is a solid assumption for the time being).

I am sympathetic to LoRab here. I see that as healthy skepticism, which is a good thing.
It's also exactly what I would expect a teammate to do. Perhaps my feelings on LoRab are better framed as "teammate-compatible," I don't feel this is a valid lynch reason on its own. But I will also take jules' opinion that this is typical for her into account.
