Yeah. I'm officially retiring from Mafia for 2019 at least.

At least I got to be scum with [mention]MacDougall[/mention] for the first time since we both started playing mafia 8-9 years ago. Too bad it lasted a day and a half before I lynched him.

The MacDougall lynch was accidental. I was in too deep when they all decided on him instead of nutella and I couldn't justify having a last minute change of heart. I do feel bad about it, and will reassess my distancing methods for future games in 2020.

BTW [mention]Matahari[/mention], Eloh never used her power. She made the kill on the night you watched her.

Ahhh. Not sure what that was. I wasn't even sure what I WAS going to claim. At first, I was going to claim jailkeeper of some kind (it would explain the block). The fact that Jay was saved on N2 and then also came in and said his action failed was like a lifesaver. We knew there was a jailkeeper. Then I started thinking how people would react to a town blocker. The fact I'd blocked townies would have looked bad so I couldn't do it. The doctor was just random bullshit, a final hail mary. I do hate roleclaiming (you can check all my games, I don't like it), so that much was true.

Hope you enjoyed this game a little more than Gossip Girl since you had a very active role

I think the problem was that you had consistently suspected her, and the suspicion grew kind of organically. It was hard to pinpoint when it developed and if it was a cause of your role.

And to be fair, juliets was dying to get Eloh and/or me lynched as soon as you flipped watcher for town (something we weren't expecting at all).

I hated the Favorites game in the end, [mention]Dragon D. Luffy[/mention], because it turned into a game of "role claim or be lynched/vigged". That's kinda lame. I'm against those methods.

I thought the same! I targeted her on night 1 and no one else did. It made me antsy, but I’ve never played with her and she seemed to be accepted as town.

one rule i wish was implemented a lot, lot harder is "always ask questions to the host via PM"

twice i thought the game was at risk of being broken. that would have sucked a lot after all the effort everyone put into it, and it could easily be avoided if people just respected the "don't ask questions in the thread" rule tbh.

i won't comment on end of days. but yes, i feel left out completely if i miss one end of day.

i thought i was the luckiest human alive when epi was ending days at 11pm my time. ELEVEN PM! and i was feeling lucky. puts things into perspective, eh? but i always know what i'm signing up to. mountain's mafia was my only exception where i just could not in any feasible way stay up to 9PM mountain time or wherever it is Marmot lives lol.

i do wish we have a few more european time friendly games like the start of this game before epi went back to work.

Jack, honestly I think this is rude. We aren't calling you stupid for getting lynched so early and I would appreciate it if you didn't do it either. The game is over, it is what it is, there is no reason to call people dumb.

I think he's just joking, and mostly making fun of himself and Mac for thinking that'd be an easy win then getting taken out so quickly.

I agree with this. I forget what the question was, but I remember an instance in Mountains Mafia (this seems to be our go-to reference here) where a player asked the host a question in the thread and the host gave an answer. The simple fact that the host provided them with a direct and sincere answer told me that the player was town, because they would not have needed an answer to the question if they were mafia.

Mechanical questions can give other players clues about your alignment. Answers to those questions can give further clues. I always request private questions in my games.

Actually, I remember that. The player asked a question in the thread, not even directed to the host, and the host quoted it and answered them. Yes, a mafia would have known the answer to that, so it managed to unintentionally town clear someone because why else would the host have answered them?

And there's a lot of other instances where it isn't appropriate as well.

[mention]Jackofhearts2005[/mention] - I always lie about "pm'ing the host". Like pm'ing Epi for clarification about what my role can and can't do. It was a fake role. Of course I didn't pm Epi or get a response. That's still within game boundaries and you are getting that "host confirmation" you like without breaking rules.

No, we were all kind of upset how you took it into your hands and handled it instead of Epi though. I thought that was kinda rude to Epi. I also didn't like the whole leetic accidental mafia flip incident. Another instance where Epignosis was tagged in the game rather than alerted privately to correct his mistake before people can make a big issue out of things.

When the host has a rule to PM him, and people don't, that sucks fun out of the game for both alignment sometimes. It's practically trying to town confirm oneself through the host.

I first met him when a guy named Crugyr started inviting people to play my game and I was full in sign ups, so I basically redirected them all to TS. So nova joined it here. But he already came from somewhere else.
