I've given you 1,000 avenues to change my mind, and instead I get this junk.
At least I won't be held to that standard after this game.

I am not so great at hunting. I cannot recall a town game where I headed up the town effort, or even substantially contributed to it, outside of night action tomfoolery. Maybe Phenon Origins counts, but other than that. :P
I've just been flinging stuff out there to see what happens this game.
I don't need you to do anything with it. I apologize if I've frustrated you. I don't really blame you, it's all on me. And no, it doesn't make sense for me to be demotivated, but I never claimed I make sense.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 4:45 pm I just want to make it clear:
speedchuck, you are essentially quitting on the game and then blaming me for it.
What am I supposed to do with that?
At the moment, I have three options.
I can make a defeatist post that just makes everyone feel bad after the flip. Rubbish. This lynch is my fault, my silly and careless steps have made me look bad.
I can make a big desperate emotional defense or lash out at the suspicions against me. But I hate emotional defenses, and it'd probably just make me look worse.
I can actually pick my butt up and spend the last hours of this day hunting like a madman to find the actual scumteam, giving post-mortem verified reads for everyone to follow up on. That would be the right thing to do. Maybe I'll do a little, but I don't have that much time right now. Certainly not enough time to dig my way out of this hole.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Day 0]
For what it's worth, I appreciate those trying to defend me and I think it comes from a town standpoint.
It's the same attitude that had the townies flopping every lynch in the Socky's game, good or bad. "This lynch is forming too fast, it must be bad!" It saved DDL for a day (scum), saved Reywas for a day (town)... might have saved Sabie if not for nutella's claim throwing a wrench in the final day.

Most of the things that I say and do in any Day 0/1 period is intended to generate a productive environment wherein the civilians have a reasonable opportunity to develop reads (both now and into future phases). I am playing the motivator and facilitator roles I described in the linked thread there. I think most successful civilian teams need someone doing these things.Elohcin wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 5:23 pmI back luna on this. The votes on chuck seem suspicious and I am not even close to certain of chuck's alignment either. From the get-go, JJJ has been saying BS about this player and that player whether is be of their civviness or baddiness. He has been doing whatever he can just to get people to participate. I think that this his vote for chuck and hard go on chuck is the same thing. I don;t think JJJ CARES if chuck si good or bad. I think he just thinks that it will get people working to solve the game. I think JJJ could be indie.
That isn't to say I don't care about speedchuck's alignment though. I do. It isn't imperative to lynch a mafioso on Day 1, and the sky won't be falling if there's a mislynch. A correct lynch is still obviously preferred though, and I am trying my best to promote suspicions that I think are most likely to yield that result.
He pretended to do it when under pressure in Mountain Mafia and Phenon Origins? Maybe? But it wasn't like this.

I have no reason to suspect speedchuck really....but I have limited experience with almost everyone in this game after spending a few years away from the game. So, my reads of people are not based on history like the rest of you are able to. The only thing that weirds me out about Speedchuckle is how buddy buddy he's been with me...and looking back he's been at it since the start of the game. I'm not sure what to make of that. It could be that he actually has a strong town read of me...or it could mean he's a bad fellar and is latching on to me because he's seen me get lynched in my first two games back from hiatus for shit reasons and wants that sweet sweet civ cred when it happens again in this game. I dunno.

Things I felt like addressing are in this color.leetic wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 11:43 pm speedchuck
Was a wagon that could have easily been taken by scum, yet for some reason it wasn't. Let's investigate further
I used logic like this to win my last scumgame. Sometimes scum aren't present or are in weird places. Easy to get bad results.
The push on nutella, and I originally townread him for it, since it reminded me of how I used to push users early game back in the day. I just noticed something very odd about this though. Let's look at one of his earlier posts to see why.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:49 pmYes, I want you to generate content. That post said nothing, had no content.nutella wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:39 pmThe fuck is a filler post? Do you not want me to generate content? I don't believe you really suspect me for that post. You just thought it would be an easy thing to appear suspicious of.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:15 pmYep.
Filler post. And you said REY was trying too hard? Bugger off with that.
I am accusing you of pretending to generate content. Was that unclear?
Yeah, if you look at his posts before the nutella push, none of them had any real content in them, yet he's pushing nutella for not generating content. Definitely weird.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 11:03 amHot damn.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 2:38 amspeedchuck entry posts in his last six games:
Spoiler: show
Two of them featuring a greeting ("hi" or "hello"). The mafia version of the greeting is inserted by force; the civilian version is smoov like buttah. His Shockheaded Peter greeting is relatively smoov like relative buttah.
Clear, obvious civilian.
His very next post was this, right after he accused a user of not posting content. His next few posts are like this as well. So yeah, looking at the greater context, the nutella push is jarring.
And you'll notice I haven't pushed nutella since, either.
Early D1 I was having fun. I poked nutella, and then went all in after JJJ hyped up the "FIGHT!" We yelled at each other a bit, then I ignored it and went off to do other things. You can scumread me for it if you want, but it was jarring because it was poo flinging. Baseless, vicious poking.
When asked to defend his reads, he suspiciously left out his scum reads. And Jack just happens to be one of them...speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:38 amBeen townreading Sloonei since "Whacke". He's been great under some amount of pressure early on. That townread solidified when he defended Sabie, referencing the delicious MYLO from last game. I KNOW that's genuine. I was there. He hasn't been sucking up to the powers that be, hasn't been "trying too hard" (in nutella's words) to seem consistent or give thoughts on everyone. He just steps in where he sees a need and keeps his D0/D1 chill. I like it.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:29 amI’d like to hear more about all of those.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:25 am Leaving JJJ off my list because that's just boring.
Townreads: Sloonei, Elohcin
Scumreads: Nova, JoH
Elohcin hasn't done too much. She came in, made a catch-up post, and then left. But most of it reeked of sincerity, to me. It's partly a vibe I'm getting, but I'll try to explain it. When she was making the catch up post, she commented and gave her take on 4-5 things. Some of it had been said before, some of it she took a small step further. It didn't seem like she was trying to fake any thoughts, nor like she was straining for original content.
I guess both of these just seem too chill under the 'Jay Spray' for me to think them scum.
When JJJ said that a Luna/chuck/Jack scumteam was possible, at first I thought it was incredibly unlikely, but here might be a bit of credence to that idea.
He never responds to this.
Incorrect. I did respond. As a matter of fact, I was working on the post before JJJ said anything.
After that, some accusations of Nova buddying JJJ - I won't address them here, JJJ said pretty much all that needed to be said on that matter.
GTH scumreads: Elohcin, Jack, Sabie, Nova, Audrey(?). Notably calls Luna good.
Elohcin being here is interesting, because in his previous GTH, he labeled her as town.
Not sure whether he meant bad for Audrey here, but it's still some of that throwing shade on inactives.
Explains Sabie finally, but still not Jack. I think Sabie might be a potential scumpartner for speedchuck, as the noncommital nature of this post almost seems like distancing.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 4:02 pm90% of Sabie's posts are her complaining about silly accusations, making her own, then walking them back. The other one is "where sloonei at he mus be busy"
I'm used to her first post in the game being lost, but still full of basic reads and stuff. She's posted more D1 than I'm used to, but somehow less.
I got that just now after looking back. It's not that strong, but hey, GTH.
Or reywaS? speedchuck is hard because it seems he could reasonably be scumpartners with almost every suspicious user, which is not a good signspeedchuck wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 11:29 amHe has good taste in scumreads and makes funny jokes. Sheeping, in spite of him once considering nova a scumread and not really explaining the change in heart. Not going to keep explaining this or talking about it. I wish I hadn't made that post.
If he flips scum though, I have a feeling the other scum might not be a defender of him based on this post. This post would exist to throw off the town in that case.speedchuck wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 5:39 pm For what it's worth, I appreciate those trying to defend me and I think it comes from a town standpoint.

After that, a bunch of really short posts lacking in content.
His next real post, and first real attack on Jack. Maybe I'll talk more about this when I inevitably analyze Jack, but I'm getting tired now. Still, weird that it took him this long to expand on suspicion of a consistent scumread, and conveniently at a time when things were looking bad for Luna.speedchuck wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 6:36 pm Why aren't you voting me then, @Jackofhearts2005?

This is after the Luna lynch. Nova was a key part of making that lynch happen instead of mine. (I know JJJ started it, but still.)
Well, he's scummier than rey to say the least. I should really go to bed now.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [Day 2]
I'm gonna have company in a few minutes. Probably won't be all that useful today. @ me if you want and maybe I'll respond, but it'll be very spur of the moment.
Apologies.
Apologies.

Great job, Jack! I'd like to think that I at least did a little to distance from you, but that was mostly your victory. We watched in awe.

Re: Shockheaded Peter Mafia [ENDGAME]
Last year, I started the year with four mafia victories in the first 2 months. I won some in the spring as well.
And then, despite playing like a madman, I went on a losing streak from late July through the end of the year. 6 months with no wins, despite entering (nearly) every game that was on the site. That was like ten? straight losses? At least?
I know mafia can be frustrating. I get that. If you need to take a break, that's fine. You do what's best for you. But please don't think that this 'isn't the place for you' just because of some lost games. Every person here, JackofHearts included, has had rough games and losses. And more importantly, it's cool having you around.
If you do decide to sign up for another game, maybe something more zany and less traditional would be fun. Or something smaller and shorter. It's all up to you.
