I went with food, because you can get hydration from some foods. And a pirate needs energy from nutrition. Especially citrus, so no scurvy.

For the moment, I am finding Ronan to be trustworthy. What they are saying makes sense to me. So following his vote. And bird seems flighty with that vote switch.
