Not impressed with Flanders for failing to read the rules.
Guy posts about town throwing when he's a suspect, then throws because he needed to flash his site cred to save himself instead of just playing his way out of a hole.
Weak sauce.
Still feeling good about a Skinner vote, wondering where Lisa is at and what she has to say. She's been pretty mousey so far.
Indeed.
I'm just frustrated because it's obvious you're town now, and I hate losing townies over rule breaks, thats all.
I'm sure you're pretty awesome most of the time and I'll keep your reads in mind.

Everybody makes mistakes...I'm not a big reader of rules myself.
It's true, I make all kinds of mistakes. I'm just salty about the situation he's put town in.
Also, the whole I don't grandstand thing, then grandstands with a cred claim only to get himself mod killed.
Boo-urns
Oh well, I'll get over it and Mr. Mac will probably hate me forever.

Find myself agreeing with Allison and Burns for the most part. I like the Grumple and Krusty, Grandpa seems pretty ok too.
Feeling less sure on Comic dude, but still on the town lean side.
Pretty null on a bunch in there.
Skinner, Flanders, Milhouse take up the bottom three spots with my preference being Skinner Flanders wagons.
Milhouse calling Skinner and Flanders scum is interesting to me and I get it's highly unlikely he's wolf bros with them, but his entrance, lack of content and scum list without due exploration is troubling.
These reads are bad and you should feel bad.
Why?
He'd tell you, but then he'd be grandstanding
Wouldn't want anyone stealing the stage..

Maybe if we keep pressure on both of these lumps of coal one will turn into a diamond.
In reality this person is mafia and should die.
Would also be happy with euthanizing Grandpa.
Any other reads to share?

Sounds legit...the thick glasses kid with the one post reads seems okay for now
Yeah, it seems a little too convenient.
Flanders and Skinner are getting a lot of attention, same with Marge. Lisa might be an outlier in that sense but the list and lack of build up to it. I dunno.
Feels like a great "let me hide behind my sheeped list" play.

Hello everyone. I ate a single piece of fruit and it healed some of my status conditions and restored 1/4 of my MP.
I feel okay about Otto Mann. I liked his responses to the sticks in his spokes. I am... concerned that through his responses to me he is trying to nudge my perceptions of him, but this may be paranoia. I am not concerned. No further action is needed at this time.
Talk to me more on Comic Book Guy. What is giving people townreads on him.
His reactions to the game and reads seem independent of the way the thread is leaning... until he voted Skinner, which I agree with but at the same time it could be any easy blender play.
I did like his early responses to my bullshit tho.

Only half the players.
If you were paying attention you'd have seen me address that earlier.
And from that post - Allison and Grumple in my town leans, you and Skinner aren't but I dont see you two as w/w.
I know wtf I'm doing with my posts, in my experience townies usually do, so you're like not part of the crew.
You should try throwing around empty reads when you're town. It's kinda fun.
Yeah...just got done getting my cable company sorted out.
Now I'm gonna watch the baseball game.
But GOSH I am sooooo looking forward to having a REAL mafia player like yourself teach me how to play, so I hope there's not like an expiration date on that offer!
Meanwhile, since now it isn't taking five minutes to change pages I might even read the thread before my first lesson, just so I have good background and a chance of maybe, just maybe, being able to follow your awesomeness.
Smithers! Update my schedule and show the bus driver out.
Lol, and I'll take that one on the chin.
I'm sorry if you took it that way, wasnt my intention to act superior, just wanted to let you know I knew my reads were empty, it's just the way I approach the game starting with no info.
People tend to engage in one way or another which helps me get a read on them. That's all I was saying.
Sorry if upure town, I'm just not reading you that way rn. That can change.
Enjoy the game.
I'd rather watch hockey
Wellllll...tbh
I really do normally play much the same way, and I really did spend most of the day squabbling with the cable company with my internet running at dial up speed...and my only way to communicate with the cable company being the internet...
So that shot to the chin wasn't something you deserved really, it was...you just kinda stepped in front of it.
I will be reading through the thread and getting really caught up.
And yeah I'd actually rather be watching hockey too.
I like Allison's take on us and can live with that for now.
Unless the two of you are scum, having a soft Allison, Burns, Grample, Comic Dude towncore might be something to work with.
Thoughts on proposed towncore?

C- It's not so much the current gamestate, more the thinking that a lot of scum have a hard time entering the thread and subsequently end up a very low poster early game as they struggle to find an opening that feels comfortable.
This is not true of most Syndicate wolves. You will catch the occasional one with an awkward opening but many Syndicate scum players have no issue with power wolfing and there are very few chronic slankers here.
I like Grumple's posting this page. Not that I agree with his read on Otto, but the way he approached it and broke down Otto's post that he thought was player salad, moved onto a series of probing questions and then backed off after a bit to stop himself from tunnelling was a pretty townie approach.
That may or may not be true about Syndicate, but they still need an opening to enter the game. Players entering with shitposts or excuses after conversation worthy content has been established looks bad to me.
I agree on Grumple for the most part. Their tunnel actually felt like a nice cozy pocket I could hang in for a bit.
What?
You think just because someone gets to the thread a little early and you got serious before you turned around twice they shouldn't get to shitpost?
In a game based on The Simpsons??
Where they have gone to the lengths of a Simpsons character sockpuppet account to play with???
You're lucky I stopped shitposting long enough to make this post...and mostly I'm only being serious because my dodgy internet has me in such an ill humor. If I get this shit straightened out I'll probably get right back into character and have you dumped in the green glowing pool out back.
tl;dr...I think you have thrown a lot of shade so far, but in pretty much every case it was thinly backed, if at all...like you are looking for an easy push.
That's cool, especially considering you've done fuck all but complain about your computer or inability to access your account. And the sus or sheep post, unless that was someone else.
You seem to have your back up quite a bit considering it's early D1 and even the best of cases will all be flimsy as fuck. I haven't even pushed you, but indeed some shade has been thrown. I do that. Helps me sort players.
Getting all salty over the way I go about scum hunting to start the game only reinforces my opinion that you're in that scum range of players.
LOL...I actually wasn't even talking about the shade you've thrown at me. I was more pointing out that you seem to be thinking you are in a fourteen wolf game because you are shading basically everyone, or at least seem like you are set on getting to everyone.
Now you can play "oh look, I threw empty shade at almost everybody and this guy didn't like it so he must be a wolf." Congrats wolf hunter, I'm impressed.
Only half the players.

thank u for your time
Because you were the three lowest posters of the active players.
The idea is to start conversation with the actives and put a little pressure on a number of players.
Ned Flanders: active?

again thank you for your patience during this holiday season. i appreciate your time and also i love you.
Flanders had actually posted. So yes, active.
Wasn't a hard fast change really. I was pretty clear with you about my intentions for calling out a number of players at once. Now I did say one of your posts felt scummy, but I made no mention of how that affected where you were placed in the Allison>You>Flanders world, so don't be too irked because your tunneling is a good look and definitely helped me sort you.

Player salad is a subconscious pitfall that
mafia people who hate Christmas fall into. They list several names at once without actually listing reasons. It allows for deniability later and gives an illusion of action without actually acting. Allows people in the mafia to talk about their teammates early on without actually pushing meaningful momentum on them so later on when one of them bites the snowball they can point back and be like "aha! I knew buntain simpson was mafia, see? I even said it on day 1".
Posts that often like this:
Otto Mann wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 1:17 pm
Kinda getting the feeling pretty much all the posters so far are town. Maybe one or two maf between Allison, Grumple and Flanders with the bulk of the bad guys laying low hoping for town to destroy itself
Looking at Skinner, Burns, Milhouse and Hugh Jazz.
So yes, I've named half the fucking roster, need more players to post to start narrowing down from that pool.
Mr. Mann if you don't mind can you expand on what put Skinner, Burns, Milhouse, and Hugh Jazz on your radar?
Question number second: If one or two of Grumple, Allison, and Flanders are mafia, which one do you think is most likely.
Question number C: what is it about the current game state that leads you to believe that the mafia is laying low?
1- was mentioned in the post you quoted. Nothing more or less than what I said.
2- Well Allison's play since writing that post moves her into a probably town space whereas both you and flanders are sketch, with Flanders ahead by a hair because you're at least asking some questions and exploring the world a bit. Flander's hasn't done much of anything except point at Burns for a slightly cheeky post.
C- It's not so much the current gamestate, more the thinking that a lot of scum have a hard time entering the thread and subsequently end up a very low poster early game as they struggle to find an opening that feels comfortable.

Am I the only one reading this as a wolfy pop in?
Quite a few people have made this kind of "pop in, say something in character, pop out" post. I think it's just part and parcel of the game's theme that encourages people to do that at the start. It's wolfy if he keeps doing it and doesn't contribute to the game.
Otto Mann, it was more of the context and timing of the post that made me like it. I'm a little confused about your read on Bart. You criticize his posts for having bad tone and being fluffy, but you're null on him overall, just because he has a lot of those (bad) posts? Why?
Because it's not something I noticed until you called it into question and I reread his posts. Was townleaning Bart and a few others simply because they were posting, so he was demoted if it makes you feel better about your work so far.

Oh, so you aren't nanook. Given that I thought you were though, the two of you seem like you'd click together. And I actually think OMGUS is town indicative because town is more likely to feel indignant about being wrongly voted and/or suspect that they're being falsely accused by mafia. Scum is like, "well, they caught me, how can I get them off my back?". Obviously it's not a super strong read since it's so easy to fake OMGUS/indignation, but in a vacuum it's slightly townie and nothing I'd scumread someone off.
I posted that before reading that Comic Book Guy was just fishing for reactions though.
I like bait votes.
CBG and Krusty both seemed like decent odds at town, was hoping for a wolfy entrance vote from one of the slank.
C'est la vie
Yeah, Lisa coming in and going "both of you are town" was what made me townread her. Her entrance felt pretty comfortable too. What do you think about Bart?
The "both of you are town" is nai for me. Easy post to write as maf, and not a call I'm comfortable making so early on.
Bart's posts strike me as posts for the sake of posting. It's all fluff and his tone isn't a great look but at least he's been somewhat active.
Null for now.

Oh, so you aren't nanook. Given that I thought you were though, the two of you seem like you'd click together. For stealing my saxophone! ...And for telling us to post less after telling us to post more.

Heyyyyy. Otto might be blotto but Krusty smells like moldy cheese and awkward entrances.
Whoaaaaa
I'm not sure about that one Otto, I think Krusty's entrance is okay, and I think OMGUS is slightly town indicative.
In the sense that experienced maf wouldn't omgus without a solid narrative to back it up? Sure.
My playstyle might not be the status quo here, but imma just roll as I would at home.

Interesting to note that you agree with my thoughts on Lisa's desire to solve the squirrel murder tho
Totes, was thinking as much to myself when I wrote the post.
Kinda disappointed it wasn't different player to point out that bit of contradiction because coming from you I see it as a bit defensive/passive aggressive, whereas from a different player it might help me with my reads.

Hmmmm
I thought Lisa was a vegetarian and an animal lover which is why she'd want to "go", not because she's "a child".
Also I agree with Krusty that Lisa would want to investigate, but I'm questioning how much I should really expect players to remain in sock puppet character because I really doubt Otto would take the time to write something other than a guitar solo.
So, like totally just yeah man.

Whoa man
I never liked comic book dude. He's like evil in a bad way man, I can tell by the mustard on his goatee
That mustard is high quality. I can't justify cleaning the beard when I can lick it off in increments and still enjoy the taste.
Whoa..
It wasnt supposed to be so easy bro. Imma catch a wave
(as I drive down the street in my school bus)
