So yeah, it was like after midnight when I posted that response to Epi. Maybe that's why it seems lifeless. Last night was my monthly ladies night out and I didn't come home until I had my fill of caramel apple sangria.

I know nothing of this show, so JJJ is confusing me a bit. I may vote him. It seems a little 'trying too hard' to come in here role play like that right off the bat. Like he is trying to win us over. What do y'all think? And this is not WIFOM talking...whatever that is. I never understood that term completely. but you all seem to use it for when you go after someone who has gone after you? Votes are changeable and the day is barely half over. This is not the time to be casting preservation votes. Vote wherever your suspicions are!
Oh my goodness! I was thinking days were 24 hours for some reason! I thought I got my vote in like 3 minutes before the bell!!! I wake up this morning looking hard for a host post and everything. GAH! I'm gettin' OLD. Someone save me!!

Okay, I have like 2 pages to catch up on. I am busy today, but I will get there eventually.
This thing here.

If Elohcin had a decent team, she should have known when the Day phase ended. I'm reading this as genuinely clueless, and not feigned. So what does that mean?

Elohcin loves BTSC, and she loves talking with her team about anything and everything. She's a talker.

Couple that post with the following:
Elohcin wrote:I honestly don't know what to say in defence. There is nothing to defend against. Your role playing or lack thereof confuses me.
Elohcin wrote:going for self preservation here...
And what you have is an indication that her team wasn't on the same page Day 1. Consider:

1. Eloh genuinely didn't know the Day phase was 48 hours.
2. That means nobody on her team told her / they weren't focused on Day 1 strategy
3. Eloh ends up voting Scotty instead of holding out and making it a tie. I think that's significant. If she was that interested in saving herself, she only needed to vote last minute against someone with one vote and make it a however-many-way tie, and there would likely have been a no-lynch. She didn't do that. She went for Scotty.

Then this:
Elohcin wrote:
Sloonei wrote:Having said that, I'm moving my vote back to Elohcin for the reasons I mentioned earlier. I'm off to work now, so I won't be posting much at all, but i'll try to glance at my phone when I can to stay loosely caught up. Don't be surprised if I cast a sudden and silent vote near the end of the day. I do that sometimes at work and people always freak out about it.

But MacDougall had more votes than BWT when Eloh voted, yes?

I only skimmed this AM, I will read back to when I told Rico I was going to step back when I get home in about 1.5 hours.
No, they both had two votes. And I thought it was like 3 minutes til EoD!
LoRab wrote:Epi expressed suspicion of Elo earlier, which interests me because they read each other well. Would love for him to elaborate on his thoughts.

Too bad I had to react after midnight after several drinks (when I don't drink often at all). It probably is what started me off on the wrong track for this game.

Now, as for my vote today (Day 1 :ike: ) I can see where scotty can be bad. I am moving my vote there. I don't want to vote BWT if I don't have to. Hate to lose a possible civ position even if it's a quiet one.
Uh-huh.

Eloh doesn't want to vote birdie, who hadn't been there, as I recall. An absent teammate is still a teammate.

It's worth discussing. Scotty was the lynch, we know his alignment, and so anything relevant to Scotty is worth discussing.

You've still not answered the question. Your posts on this page have no function. You specifically elected to take your vote off of Scotty and then you placed it on sanmateo. You must have thus felt that sanmateo was "closer" to ideal than Scotty was as a voting option. Describe the thought process that took you there.

I'll expand.

His responses to INH and Zebra have been focused on whether or not his vote change was suspicious. He is contesting that it was suspicious. This strikes me as useless dialogue, because there are few scenarios which would facilitate Epignosis calling his own content suspicious. A more substantive and useful response would be to explain why he changed the vote. Elohcin asked him that question directly, and his answer was that he didn't know why he changed it; it just felt good.

I'd assert that even whimsical decisions in Mafia are motivated by something tangible. Epi: did you feel sanmateo specifically was an ideal vote? Was it more about getting off the Scotty wagon? Something else? Please explain your answer.

Straight to misrepresenting my argument, classic. No, you still could and in fact would anticipate people jumping on you jumping off Scotty, and you would count on doing what you're doing now and brush it off by claiming there was nothing to gain from it, even though we all know you would be under more scrutiny for staying on the Scotty wagon because your content for the bulk of that phase pointed more towards a Rico vote. You also don't need to claim to having no responsibility for Scotty's lynch; it's just evident from your vote not being on it.

Nice gal. I like her a lot.

Do you honestly think I'd have anything concrete to say about her based on the few posts she has, several of which were about thinking the Day ended after 24 hours?

I really don't understand what you're talking about. Please help me. I'm not doing what is convenient. I'm trying to solve the game, but I'm also trying not to get worked up. That's it.
So...if anybody suspects you, you're going to get worked up?

I just want to say that voting for MacDougall for whatever he did in a completely different game is lousy.

The :sigh: was because what you said was my entire point when I said there was a possibility Scotty is bad. Of course there's a possibility, just like there's a possibility I'm leading people astray (Scotty's charge against me).

I have so far voted Elohcin and Ricochet.

To which of those votes do you object?
I'm currently voting for BWT, so I'm not sure what you're up in arms about.

I think you are proficient in steering the thread if you need to be, and even though I have my reservations about similar candidates, it still doesn't mean you aren't fishy.
Your (semi) accusation against me is that I'm pushing people away from the right track. That implies that you think RIcochet and Elohcin are civilians, and that I am trying to get either of them lynched.

However, in the same post, you imply Ricochet and Elohcin are bad. How can you accuse me of pushing people in the wrong direction when you, in some capacity, agree with both of those directions?
You're talking like I'm talking in absolutes, when I'm not. I simply think both could be bad. Leaving myself an out, I know. Still voting for a no-show day 1.

You're very hard to pin down, and I have never confessed to be any good at having a rousing or level argument with you. I thought it worth noting that there is a possibility you could be leading us down the wrong track. Whether or not that is the case I have no idea.
Of course there's that possibility- that possibility exists for everyone who has posted. Why is it worth highlighting me over anybody else if we're just dealing with possibilities?

Forced. But that isn't enough for me. He always looks forced to me.
Really? What do you mean exactly?
You always look like you are trying too hard (posting eighteen times in a row fuels that perception).

This isn't ideal. Epignosis can use this comment as an origin point to justify either supporting or opposing MP later.
If I want to vote MP, I'll vote MP.

i don't think anything she's done is abnormal for her civvie game... maybe a better way of saying it is that nothing she's done has made me think she is bad
Can you differentiate between what she does as a civilian and what she does as Mafia?

Ricochet wrote:Don't get what's confusing about that, S~V~S. Self-preservation goal implies to prevent something for your own good. What better way to counter the odds of Mac being bad and getting even to Night 1 and try to make his team eliminate me, because I'm one of the players he doesn't like playing against?

And that Day Zero comment of mine was by far the jokey one, due to context of G-Man calling out to those who haven't even read their PMs. I would have started Day One the same way, regardless of any Day Zero chatter or banter.
G-Man wrote: 7. Wincons are dead or alive unless otherwise specified in your role. The host reserves the right to deny win credit to those players who fail to pull their own weight.
Why is self-preservation an issue for you?

If MacDougall can't kill you, then he can't kill you. And if he can kill you, all he has to do is...refrain from doing so. If you were good, you've opened yourself up to being killed to set up MacDougall.

Not helpful.
