I don't think anyone will die in this lynch because Magenta is pretty likely to stop the lynch. I might as well stop being coy about it. I'm pretty sure I have her secret figured out.

Magenta – She is a former love interest of Wally West and has magnetic abilities. She can prevent one lynch during the game. If she does, she will gain BTSC with the Detectives.

If I were Magenta, I would stop the Day One lynch and get my BTSC with the Detectives ASAP.
Wouldn't that mean that the Detectives have BTSC already?
Indeed it would.
Then if that's true, Eloh would not be a detective or Magenta either. :ponder:

I'm considering voting Epi now. I don't like that he is pushing this.
It's Mafia. You always risk losing a valuable civilian role when you vote. Nature of the beast. Do you think Elohcin has a valuable civilian role?
S~V~S wrote:I just looked, this thread was opened Sunday at 7:45, Timmer tried to sign up Sunday at 3:48. There was a willing replacement if Epi wanted to play so bad, and Elo did not.

I kinda am not as sure I buy that story anymore. Splints is right; this seems like a desperation play to me.
It's the truth. It's why I mentioned reading between the lines.

Little while... (Replacement)
4
bea (4), MovingPictures07 (16), nijuukyugou (18), DisgruntledPorcupine (33)
12%

There were four people who signed up to be replacements. Evidently, Eloh didn't asked to be replaced. Unless I'm on a team with an inactive, I don't ask the host to replace other people.
FZ. wrote:I just read Epi's post and all those following. I too wonder why not just let Timmer replace her, or anyone for that matter. Also, since he admitted that he doesn't necessarily think she's bad, would civvie Epi really let a non baddie die just like that? Also, like SVS and Splints said, I can see him using this as a manipulation, because if he's a baddie and is taking her down in a lynch, he can then kill someone else during the night, if he even has a NK. Maybe that's his was of making her think he isn't bad.
I'm not sold on this theory, but the fact that he's willing to let someone who he doesn't know is bad, die, makes me think he doesn't really care if the civvies win.

Epi, can you please explain why you have no problem getting a possible non baddie lynched, instead of trying to replace Eloh?

Between llama and Epi, I'm still more worried about llama, but I have about 2 more hours to decide.

linki: BF, he was wording it to make it look like a brilliant discovery. No, I don't buy it. Sorry
Uh, no- I didn't "admit that I don't necessarily think she's bad." What I said was that I think it's highly unlikely she's an Old Rogue, making it more likely that she's a New Rogue. That's manipulating what I said.

Tell me, do you KNOW if someone is bad right now?
Roxy wrote:FZ - Tbh when Epi hosts he never mk's non players and instead replaces them as soon as he is asked to otherwise they roll along without doing anything. It goes against everything I Know about Epi inre: to replacements/nonplayers.
Eloh is the one who needs to asked to be replaced. I don't asked to replace other players.

++++

Consider this: Eloh practically admitted that she doesn't have BTSC, meaning my assumption about her is true. If my math is correct, then she is unlikely to be an Old Rogue.

I got lynched in HSK the day before spring break started for us. I had no Mafia during spring break (I'm sorry- I don't consider LMS Mafia), and was bummed. Flash had been in sign-ups for weeks. Eloh signed up so her pouting husband could have something fun to do. I decided I would kill her Night 1 if I could, or, if that couldn't happen, I would try to get her lynched.

That's right. My wife loves me, and I'm trying to kill her.

With her having no knowledge or interest in the theme, I figured that she would commit herself if she had BTSC, and I would have left her alone (well, in that case, I still might have Night killed her, but I can't).

I say this because I'm not trying to play the Eloh expert, distract you from talking about me, be mean-spirited by going after my wife Day 1, or whatever else I've been accused of doing. She has a gazillion cakes to make, and she signed up so I could play.

That's my hidden agenda.

Thus, here I am trying to remove a player who probably is not vested in this, and who I do not think has BTSC (and is therefore unlikely to be one of the six Old Rogues), and I'm the one with the most votes.

The irony is not lost on me. :meany:

Addendum.
i understand the elo being busy with RL stuff bit, but what i dont get is you being so adamant to lynch her, if you think she isnt bad. Even if she is and will be busy, if she is a civvie, i rather try to lynch a baddie, today, tomorrow, and all game. I know uninvolved civvies do not help and, heck, im always against low posters in most games, but this is the first day and maybe elo can find time later to get involved in this. I dont think if wise for you to want to lynch her just cause she is busy. In any case, lets try to find something with the lynch, or try to at least vote for someone you think could be bad. but thinking that elo is good and try to lynch her, even if i understand your RL reasons, isnt wise for this game, imo.

this all assumming you and her are civvie, wich i dont know. but i wanted to point this out as soon as i was catching up and stumble upon this post.

Your math could be right, sure... but at the end of the Day the math doesn't mean anything if she isn't bad. I watched you argue for days in Death Note mafia to lynch FZ, and your math overwhelmingly supported FZ being bad, and yet she wasn't. I guess I'm just more interested in reading Elo as a player rather than following any math probabilities that could point to her alignment. And her responses have made me feel much better about her today than I did yesterday.

I'm not sure what the purpose of your revelation was, but it let me know that your motivations for lynching Elo weren't pure within the context of the game. And I just wanted to point out that simply not having an NK at your disposal doesn't automatically make you an Old or Indy Rogue, that's all.

linki @ Llama: You WERE NK'ed in X-men, and then Elo (a civvie as well) rezzed you back into the game. That's how much we DIDN'T lynch you for wanting to be King of the Morlocks :P
All of that could have been avoided if Russtifinko hadn't voted FZ. out of nowhere for no apparent reason.

And I had my reasons for voting FZ. even if I was wrong. :p

I assume you still think she's worth lynching since she doesn't have time for the game, but do you legitimately suspect her of being bad? I don't think I do after seeing her response.

On the other hand, even if you don't have the ability to NK your wife as planned, there's only two baddies who have the ability to kill, and they don't have BTSC with the other baddies. So... your newly revealed motivation for lynching Elo doesn't really preclude you from being those other baddie roles. So... I'm on the fence about you now.

When I finally became a civilian, I found myself lying, scheming and manipulating people. Since I made that realization long ago, I have made a conscious effort to do something different (sometimes outrageously different) regardless of alignment to keep things fresh. In Dr. Who, I tried to be as stereotypically Mafia as I could be. It worked out for me, and I thought it was really amusing.

I look forward to hearing from him. Perhaps it was Zero shenanigans. But perhaps it was, as you say, deliberate.

As someone who also is married to someone you mafia with, wha do you think of Epi declaring Elo not an Old Rogue based on one 2 word post?
I didn't appraise her based on a two-word post. You're misrepresenting what I said, and now you're asking loaded questions.

That was over a year ago. You don't think Eloh has become a more nuanced player since then?

And this setup is different: As far as I know, only two Old Rogues start with BTSC and can gain it. Only one New Rogue can gain it but doesn't start with it.
I think that she has. You are the one making her sound like she has not; no BTS and she loses interest. I have seen her play a sound civ game with no BTS. Perhaps two games stretches her thin. I know I have issues juggling that at times, and I have been playing for a long time.
No. That's a misrepresentation of what I've said.

What? No it doesn't. Were she interested in the theme, I would not be able to detect anything in particular by this point. That she still seemed disinterested during Day 0 leads me to believe nothing made things interesting for her (and BTSC does that).

How am I distracting from myself when I have done nothing but bring attention my way?

Do you think Elohcin is even reading the thread?
You are distracting from yourself with your "lynch Elo she is not an old rogue" thereby making people look at Elo and your record at reading her.

She could be reading the thread and keeping up but not posting as its day 0 and tbh it was a lot of ot talk. Do you think she has been reading the thread? Do you know everything she does all day while you are at work? What does her reading/not reading the thread have to do with you calling her out after she only posted one word and one letter - also knowing in large games she tends to be quieter until the number of players dwindle a bit?
That's right. I'm distracting people by participating. I hope it works. :dark:
Elohcin wrote:In. Let the games begin so my husband will shut up :p
Elohcin signed up mainly to get this game out of Sign-Ups Hell. Otherwise, she would have signed up sooner. She usually signs up for games early. If she had BTSC, however, or the prospect of getting BTSC (and on this point, I don't believe she read any of the roles but her own), she would be more eager to participate. She likes to chat, as anyone who has been bad with her before knows. Having a partner would have elicited more from her Day 0.

On the basis of this, do you believe Elohcin has BTSC? I do not.

If you agree with me on that point, then it eliminates three Old Rogue roles from the realm of possibility, leaving three she could be. If you are one of these three remaining roles, then it reduces the probability that she is an Old Rogue to 8%. For you, there is a 92% chance Elohcin is not an Old Rogue. For everyone else, there is an 88% chance that she is not an Old Rogue. If you want to include Detectives in this, it's 80% and 76% respectively.

If you've got something better for Day 1, by all means.

And speak of the devil herself. :suspish:

I don't. Elohcin was equally as inactive in LMS yesterday, though she did offer an explanation over there, and not here.
What don't you believe exactly?
I don't believe you want to lynch her because she is disinterested. You didn't have a single word to say about her until after I pointed out that she hadn't checked in, and after she commented on her Day 0 vote choice. You immediately said, "I want to lynch Elohcin", but then waited to offer any sort of explanation. I see this as a method to distract from your previous advertisement for a sidekick since that comment drew some heat. Do you still want to lynch Elohcin?
So you think me suspecting Elohcin of not being an old rogue based on reasons beyond her being busy (she is always busy) and not immediately offering those reasons is an attempt to distract people from something I kept doing on Day 0?

Interesting.

Do you have a vested interest in keeping someone alive who probably isn't an old rogue?

After game after game of people depending on me to read Eloh for them, I decided I would quit doing it. It got to the point that my alignment was predicated on Eloh's, and that if I was ever wrong about her, I must be bad. Earlier on I had no qualms about it, but the novelty has worn off, and as I said, I think Elohcin is a better player now. By now, if she has a team made up of certain people, they might devise a way to exploit my read of her. It doesn't mean I won't notice certain things, but, as I said, I'm retiring as the Elohcin expert because the pressure is annoying, prone to abuse, and at times, unfair. I figured that if I stopped doing it, people would quit asking me about it.
And...so that means I'm never going to try to get her lynched ever?

You wouldn't happen to have a vested interest in keeping someone who probably isn't an old rogue around, would you?

All the ones she didn't say.

She strikes me as disinterested. She is never disinterested if she has BTSC. That means she isn't Captain Cold or Heat Wave. The possibility of BTSC would also keep her interested, so she isn't Golden Glider or Blacksmith. That means if she is an old rogue, she has to be Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, or The Trickster.

And if any of you are those roles, then it reduces her chances of being an old rogue even further for you.
You will, ofc, forgive me if I do not believe you straight away bc you have been wrong before.

Bf - I get what you are saying about the baddies signaling each other but I do not think Bullz is being dismissive nor do I feel you are defensive.

A bit of both really. I always see day 0 as a doss, good for a laugh but not much else. I know I'm far from alone in that opinion. So it surprises me that so much seems to be being made out of so little.
No one is making it a big thing. Epignosis hasn't even really responded to it. I am not aggressively pursuing him. (Likely because there isn't a vote this period, but still :P ) It's not possible you are both bad two games in a row is it? :D
Sorry BF, did I touch a nerve there? Awfully defensive for someone who isn't being directly called out.
You're awfully dismissive of an idea that you shouldn't be opposed to. Whether it's what episode did or not, you can't deny that the baddies will be trying to signal to eachother.
Isn't that what civilians do too?
