Upon entering, they found Absalom dead in his bed. 13 His blood painted a message on the wall in a foreign tongue, when translated, said, “The nations shall fear Nebuchadnezzar.” 14 Jonah saw this and tore his hair and clothes, saying, “Truly Absalom was a good man, and I have slandered his name!” 15 Saying this, Jonah drew his sword and fell upon it.

Ancient Hebrew and Greek didn't have parentheses (or punctuation at all for that matter). The presence of parentheses would depend on what translation you are reading.
