Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Day 7

Long Con wrote:That's very good to know, Mr Host, thank you.

Also, I just realized that the Cyber Head only gets extra votes in the next lynch. So to catch the Cyber Head altering the MetalMarsh lynch, they would have had to randomly have found the Body in the night immediately preceding the lynch. :phew: Lordy.
The wording on that ability is confusing. Basically, once the Cyberman Head finds his body, his increased vote count becomes permanent based on how many teammates he still has left alive.

CyberHead Role Description wrote:If you manage to find your body (a randomly determined event) at some point in the game, you gain an extra amount of votes for the next lynch determined by how many members of your team are still alive.
Ok, so maybe the extra votes can go where the Cyber Head didn't publicly vote. So I'm no more exonerated from being the Head than anyone else, and looking at the MM voters doesn't mean nearly as much. Why are you so sure the Cyber Head has even found its body? It's randomly determined. I picture something like one player in the game has the Body, and the Head searches one per night for it. Or some variation on that sort of 'Searchy' role.

Wait, so if the Cyber Head doesn't have to vote where the extra votes are, then Chris please explain to me how the Civvies can have an advantage from revealing the lynch info? How do we catch the baddie in that "hope we got lucky devil's advocate" thing keys posted?
The Cyber Head cannot privately change any or all of his extra votes. All of his votes are based on whoever he publicly votes for in the lynch poll.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Night 6

Night 6: Wrong Caller. Please Hang Up and Try Again.

Everyone was intrigued by the results of Metalmarsh's death. Would it get them one step closer to finding The Master or not? Only time would tell.

The Cybermen were plotting who their next upgrade would be. They decided on Chris as being a worthy target. They even went so far as to booby-trap his room with explosive mines that were invisible to the naked eye. They felt they had come up with a clever enough solution to dispose of the unnecessary body and keep the brain relatively intact. But perhaps they ended up messing with a brain that was too clever. Because they watched, astounded, as Chris walked into his room and exclaimed, "What fool thought to put all these mines everywhere. What a nub." He immediately set to work disarming each and every one of them safely and efficiently. He crawled into bed, exhausted from the day, and drifted off into sleep. And having sweet dreams of the silly nubs who thought they could get rid of him so easily.

Strax, excited from his previous kill, decided to have another go at one tonight. He decided that Chris would be a most excellent and worthy piece of scum to cleanse humanely from his existence. He set off to find him, but almost accidentally walked into his room and in front of a bunch of Cybermen placing something in his room. Not wanting to go up against a much superior force (even though dying with such honor would be worthy of the most esteemed of the Sontaran race), he decided to bravely....return to fight another day with much better plans of what to do going forward.

No one has died.
It is now Day 7. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!

Tonight's poll is a bit different. Bea and I are going to possibly be hosting some kind of online contest on Thursday evening. We are not sure on a time yet, but I would guess it will occur at 7PM at the earliest. If you would be available that evening, please pick one of the first two options in terms of what type of contest you would prefer. If you are not available, please pick the last option, and then mention if there is another evening this week that would work better for you instead. We are flexible and have multiple hosting options that work for both of us.

Alright. So because I am a lenient and benevolent host, I just received two more poetry entries. And they were both so entertaining and enjoyable (I won't call you out, but you two know who you are), that I am going to be kind and extend the contest through the end of Night 6. Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Day 6

To echo bea's sentiments, the lynch post will go up sometime before 11:30 EST probably, but I'm not sure when before that. I just told her to not feel like she's rushed and to take her time.

Also, I would like to add that there were a surprisingly significant lack of entries for our contest today. In fact, well over half of the players didn't submit anything (Okay, fine. It was only two people to give you the actual number). We throw out bones to you guys in the form of contests and prizes, and you all don't seem to care. :disappoint:

You are off the hook this time. And I know that entries these contests are technically voluntary. But if we don't start getting more participation in the future i.e. more than two people, we may have to consider consequences for not doing so. :feb:

And really, I have no desire to do such a thing. So just be kind and humor us with this kthx.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Night 5

Night 5: Gridlocked?

Joyous at having finally eliminated someone who was an evildoer, and more importantly, someone who had murdered their wonderful hosts, everyone was in high spirits. That is, except for the remaining stinky poo-poo heads who sought revenge for their fallen comrade. And others who planned to take advantage of the situation.

The Daleks, having lost one of their own, decided to strike again quickly. And the target they selected was none other than Black Rock. As the group disbanded to head to their quarters for the night, one of the Daleks broke off and began to follow her. However, she did have a good head start, so it was hard to keep up with her. The Dalek managed to do a fairly good job of keeping on her trail however. Until at one point, hitturned a corner and slid.....right into a brick wall. But....how could that be? It was absolutely certain that she had gone this direction! It tried to retrace some of her possible steps, but to no avail. Black Rock had someone slipped through the Dalek's grasp, and she hadn't even been aware of it! Cursing it's foul luck, the Dalek swore that next time, it would not make the same mistake again. It would come up with a much better plan.

The Master had been hearing non-stop drumming in his head for the better part of a day and a half now. And he knew there was only one way to cleanse it from his mind: a fresh kill. Waiting until everyone else had fallen asleep, he snuck out of his room and made a beeline for the person he knew was closest: Spacedaisy. She was fast asleep and completely unaware of The Master inserting a straw into one of her ears, and proceeding to suck out her brain. In fact, poor Daisy would be unaware of much of anything for quite a while. Not having a brain will do that to you, unfortunately. The Master was satisfied with the result, however, given that the drumming had stopped again for now. And that was all that mattered.

The surviving travelers arrived on New Savannah the following day. They were greeted by a Catkind member known as Thomas Brannigan. He chided them, "Welcome! In honor of our ongoing festival, we are offering wonderful prizes in a contest! Entrants will be poems judged by an unbiased third party, and shall be themed on the most wonderful hero in the cosmos: The Doctor himself! Creativity is key, and anyone is eligible. Come join in the fun with us!

Daisy has been killed by The Master.
It is now Day 6. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

Alright. So here's the deal. I literally just got home from work. I go back in early in the morning (off at 11 and back in at 8 w00t!), and I'm utterly exhausted. The last thing I have the time or energy for right now is making a night post, a lynch poll, and sending out PMs. So I apologize for this, but the night post probably won't be coming until around 6PM EST tomorrrow, unless bea manages to throw one up before then. I apologize to everyone for this, but I can't handle it right now due to lack of energy. Also, if you did not send in a PM, this does NOT mean you have an extension of time. I will still only count PMs and votes that came in before the deadline.

I will catch up tomorrow and get back on track then, but for now I just need to sleep. Sorry everyone! :(

The first word has got to be "with", but there is no 't'. I don't think we've made any progress on the rest.

This is up to and including kill attempts.
I still think companion is the first word, but there is an extra space. We originally had "Due" for the second word, but the placement of the 'e' cancels that possibility. We had "scientist" as the third word, but without an 'e', that makes that impossible. We also had "redirected" for the fourth clue, but again, we are one 'e' short, but I don't know what else will fit.
I'm glad you posted this honestly. I had made some errors when I was revealing letters. I have gone back and corrected those errors for these two secrets. That should help you out a bit more. :P

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Night 4

Night 4: Carrionite Carrion

With no bloodshed the previous day, several players turned their rage onto Made and Enrique. But there was no more that could be done about it for now. For now, they had to rest. And rest they would need, for what they would need to accomplish the following day.

Zeek was mumbling to himself, tired of not being able to speak properly. He had so many good ideas and thoughts he wanted to share too! As these thoughts were racing in his mind, preventing him from being able to sleep, it suddenly dawned on him that he was a bit thirsty. He went to reach for his glass of water on the nightstand next to his bed, and took a long, hearty swig. He laid the glass back down....and began to twist and contort as if suffering from a seizure. Then he suddenly felt a strong, burning sensation, as if he were on fire. He screamed a blood-curdling scream of pain, and then suddenly, his body went limp and lifeless. In the bit of light peering into the room, a Cyberman emerged, stared at zeek's body briefly, and then quietly exited the room. The upgrade had failed, but an alternative solution had proved just as effective as far as the Cybermen were concerned.

Strax was primed and ready. He had failed with his first attempt to kill, but would not fail again. So long as he could help it. He decided he needed a late-night snack. He got out of bed and went to find a fridge somewhere in the TARDIS. And given just how big it really was on the inside, he figured it had to have a working refrigeration unit located somewhere inside. He finally found one, but Made was already going through and ransacking it for food. Strax inquired, "I say, what are you doing, ma'am? Taking ALL the food?" Made turned around with a confused look on his face, "Ummmmm....pretty sure I'm a male, n00b." Strax was incensed by this insult, as well as Made's greedy paws hoarding so much of the late-night snacking. "I must kindly ask you to put the food down at once or be destroyed as humanely and painfully as possible!" Made cried out, "Never! Come on and have some then, bitch!" As Made went to draw a weapon, he did not count on Strax's Sontaran reflexes kicking in. Strax happened to draw just a bit faster and shot Made right in between the eyes. As Made crumpled over, Strax thought, "Well, enough of that for now. I shall burn your remains and take the food for myself. Thank you kindly, ma'am." He set off to make himself something to appease all the hard work he had gone through of murdering someone. It's a hard day's work after all.

The remaining members of the group arrived on Rexel 4, and were almost immediately swarmed by Carrionites upon exiting the TARDIS. One of them approached the group and stated, "You have done well to make it this far. In fact, so well that we're going to create...a little game. Yesssss, a game. We have determined that there are two words of power that we will involve in today's lynch. Speak one of the words, and you will receive a great blessing. Speak the other one, however, and certain disaster could befall you."

Zeek has been killed by The Cybermen.

Made has been killed by Strax.

It is now Day 5. You have 48 hours to lynch someone. If you mention one of the two trigger words today, you will be notified at the beginning of Night 5 what your outcome is.

If it's okay with everyone, I'm going to try and end the night as close to 11:30PM as possible. And given we have most if not all the votes in, I'm okay with doing so.

Still waiting on that post that illustrates why we aren't supposed to trust Epig too....

By the way, do we know if tonight's poll carries any significance? The previous night poll meant nothing... as far as we know anyway.

Re: Dr. Who Mafia - Day 4

After very heated debate, the crowd finally settled between Made and Enrique Suave. After much switching of votes and some collective bargening, it was decided that Made should be unmade.

As they lead him to the hangman, The Doctor appeared before them.

"I'm sick of all this killing. So many of you are my friends and my most trusted, but you are being led astray by blind bloodlust. You need to stop this now!" He tweeked his sonic screwdriver and a screen appeared above the crowd. It played this:

No one has been Lynched! It is now Night. You have 24 hours to do what needs done.

I like that we're having lots of lynch discussion. This is good. Very good indeed.

But I need someone to give me a letter. Quickly! Better be first! :omg:

bea wrote:Also - While I'm here. I have to close tomorrow night so I will be at work when the vote ends. I will try to do a quick and ugly phone post with "x was lynched they were b" and fill it in story wise 3 hours later when I get home. Because I will not be around at the poll close time there will be no Night Poll for N4. I'm back to days next week so this shouldn't be an issue again for a while.

Thank you so much for your understanding!
If you want me to, I can take care of the poll if that makes it easier on you. :) Up to you though.

You were the only person I have in my notes whom she recruited. I felt MP deserved a better prize, given that he recruited 4 people. Which from what I saw, was far more than anyone else had.

Yes, it is fun to see those older names pop up (when am I going to be in the insanifier :( ? ) and knowing that LC programmed all those impossible words.

On the subject of replacements, I have been told every time I've replaced that i cannot talk from the viewpoint of the character who died because that character is dead. So anything I learned as that character cannot be discussed because they are no more. I have to approach the game as the new player and only discuss things found out as the new character. If that's not true for this game I would like to know it.

HOSTS: What are your rules about replacement players who have been in the game as another role?
I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you. :srsnod:

Seriously though, I'll discuss it with bea. But that might be the only answer you get.
