I did not suspect you at all until this. It's as if you are saying--last time I had back and forth I was good, therefore, duh, I'm good. It doesn't work that way. And, claiming good seems disingenuous, unless you're role claiming, since 28 out of 36 players are neutral, and only 4 players are civ--I don't think you're actually claiming one of those roles. But I do think you might be one of the foul four.Golden wrote: linkie to everyone enjoying epi vs golden. Last time it happened, I was good and epi was bad. Then I get into it with LC. He is enjoying it as much as you.
Especially with the: anyone that suspects me must be eevul.

I have had many run ins with you in the past. You read as civvie Golden that I remember. BWT, Epig I'm on the fence. I have been away from mafia for almost a year now, so there's that.Golden wrote:@rey - exactly. That's why I find it very hard to see BWT as coming from a genuine place. I am, however, very familiar with being a popular day one target for suspicion from baddies, they love to find semantic ways of getting votes on to me.
linki @epi - ok. I'm not responding to you any more. I do not agree that you are shooting straight. It takes a special kind of cajones to have a lie as the fundamental basis of your accusation and call it shooting straight.
I will not be responding to any more of your posts until you acknowledge that you actually understand that 1) SVS never asked why I would recruit and 2) that is not the question I was answering.
linki 2 BWT - ok, that I can kind of read as genuine and understand.

I have always counted Lost as a win even though the game never made it to the intended endpoint.S~V~S wrote:I have been lucky in my BTS partners in the past, that's for sure. I would recruit any of those guys for both game related and personal reasons. Super competitive, smart, detail oriented and somewhat patient with me asking the same question for the 88th time, lol. Plus just fun guys to hang out with; I have never really had regualr BTS with aapje, but he has basically held my mostly stupid & uncomprehending hand throughout Aces D & D game patiently telling me week after week what my roll should be. I don't think I have ever won with Typh, and I only won with Tranq in Jurassic Park (where we used our lynch switch to save Nutella, a baddie on the other team, and got ALL of those guys lynched, lol, good times). But winning isn't everything.Canucklehead wrote:I feel unreasonably sad that I am not hypothetically invited to be on the imaginary Tranq/Typh/TH/apples/SVS superteam.
I play Mafia to have fun playing hard. That said, if any of them are recruiting, they did not recruit me
@Golden, in the past, the recruit passed down. That's how I got it in the first game, the original recruited was NKed.

Basically, I wonder if he could get away with it simply because so many other people think he wouldn't do it because he couldn't get away with it.
Yes, that's confusing. No, I don't know how to word it better.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 1)
This is correct as I remember recruiting in RM3.Typhoony wrote:I think in the last game, recruiters could only pick their first recruit. They had to send in a list of three and one of them would become the recruit iirc.
Everything after that was either through contests in which they would not be told who sent in what or through other means that were completely out of their control.
Also I remember BR/LC saying the roles were randomised, lemme see if I can find that.

Kind of curious about Epi vs. Golden. Those two both scare me a lot but can be extremely useful as civvies (or whatever, in this game). Might re-read their exchange from last night, though it seemed like a lot of it was just Epi being pedantic. Also llama. I never know what to think of him.
As for Bubbles I think she is genuine. Going after her for joking seemed like a ridiculous nitpick at this stage, and after Broadway I want to give her the BOTD.
And Unfurl is reading like her usual self to me.

I would choose people that I think can, as you say, function cross alignment. If choosing among several of these types, I would go with people that I have had good experiences with in past mafia games in terms of strategic thinking and general fun.

I remember being anxious about every single thing that I said in that game...way more than I normally am when on a baddie team. I think it was mostly to do with me being one of the Ultramorph 9 since that was such a big topic of discussion. Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 0)
rabbit's Serial Killer game was probably the most fun game I've ever played.Golden wrote:I wish I had played other recruitment games. The dynamics here are interesting. The only one I've played a little like it is rabbit's SK game (in which timmer betrayed me! wisely, because I would have won if he didn't, but I still carry the pain. We were a team!)
I will still probably find myself in a civ mindset because I can't help it, but its very odd knowing there are only 2 baddies out of 36 players right now.
What I'm most interested in is that some people have been already willing to put their hand up and say 'I haven't been recruited yet'. I'm not sure what to make of that. Obviously it turned out to be true in this case (assuming they are not one of the four leaders) but why say it? Are they setting themselves up for a lie later? What has been the general philosophy in saying something like that in the game? I don't really understand why you would do that?
I do, however, agree with JJ that begging for a recruit is not at all desperate, obscene or try-hard, so I present for you my own unique skills.
Roger Rabbit
Death and Taxes
Biblical
Unfortunately, I have no link to me juggling, but it wouldn't convince anyone.
