I'm also pretty damn tired. Re-watched the new Suspiria with friends last night, and it ended at like 2 AM. I need my 8 hours of beauty sleep, dammit. Other than that, I'm doing okay.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:15 pmI'm so damned tired. It'd probably not be as weird as Alfonso Cauron's one. Like seriously, who the hell watched Y Tu Mama Tambien and said, let's give that guy a YA film franchise tentpole! I mean, I'm glad they did it, but it still baffles me like 15 years later.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
This. Her 3 targets that she's focused on, Bullz, Kara, and me, have all been easy suspicions to come by, and mostly feel like her hopping onto easy suspects already mentioned by others. She criticized me for having too few/weak reads, and only providing "commentary" to the thread, while she herself has been guilty of all of that.timmer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 2:15 pmLuna is definitely reactionary right now. It reminds me of my earlier mafia career where I would freak out once I realized that I was being eyed. But she seems to be flailing with no idea of an overarching goal. Vote bullz. Don't vote bullz. But vote bullz. But maybe Kara. But no bullz... it's dizzying.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 2:11 pm I looked over Luna's posts in U-Pick and Mega Man (mafia in both). It's difficult to identify any tonal differences with this game. In terms of content, I do observe that in her mafia performances she was inclined toward individualized player analysis, in the forms of large quote compilations, ISOs, or thorough reads lists, in a way that isn't quite as visible here. Her hunting activity is more reactive and less self-constructed.
I always read willful hypocrisy as a scumtell. Other folks I'd be down to lynching: Glorf, Owner, and maaaaaybe JJJ. Need to read up on all of three of them before I decisively side against them.

Activity level is just an OT idea to me, so the idea that someone's bringing it into the game and attempting to use it against me kinda pisses me off. Do you want me to find games where I was a low poster and civilian just to get this idea solidified in your mind?juliets wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 5:37 pmI don't recall you debunking it but I do recall you were MIA for a good chunk of GOC where you were bad and also the game after that, I can't remember the game, where you were bad. Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 1
Well, that's one reading, Jay. Here's another one: I felt like Owner was choosing to parrot old opinions and scumreads instead of making new ones, and that felt scummy to me. I confronted her on it, and she evaded me. It's Day 1, I was kinda busy, (inb4 HOW DARE HE PLAY THE "BUSY" CARD) and that felt like enough to get me to place a vote on her.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 8:11 pminsertnamehere wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 1:06 pm Alright, I'm now caught up.
Most of the Day so far has just been two different squabbles over semantics. The whole Epi-Juliets thing has been more or less baffling in its scattershot legitimacy. It's the kind of thing that JJJ usually pushes, except with less actual substance, which makes me a tad sus of JJJ. Then there's the whole Owner/DH thing. It definitely feels like Owner is stuck replaying Firefly, while the rest of us are playing a new game. This regression could be scummy or not, depends on what else Owner decides to bring to the table. So far, I ain't impressed.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:04 pmWould you trust other people who have played with DH over a ton of games and have seen him as both scum and civ if they were to tell you that you were barking up the wrong tree with your meta characterization of him?Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:02 pmIt's not a regression. So far, I ain't impressed.I don't get the impression that INH was interested in learning something about Owner's motives in this progression. Instead, it looks like to me like he is giving Owner shit for pursuing an errant thread of suspicion (potentially TMI on DH, to boot) and deciding to participate in her murder when it appears viable. Indeed, the highlighted portion is key: I think his read is hardly justified on her, and his "other reads" do not exist.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 2:02 pm I'm gonna drop a vote on Owner. Her efforts so far just seem disingenuous. Her "read" of DH is unjustified baloney, and her other reads are substance-less.

Still have like 6 pages to get through. Will continually update with more commentary.
PS: Day 1's are, have been, and always will be random garbage-y crapshoots barring major fuckery.Nutella is too quick to buy INH's response. I get that he's busy and has limited time for mafia. But when he does have time to post, his content still pings me as not fully genuine. Maybe I'm just a skeptic, but giving commentary on what's happening in the game, giving out fluffy/non reads, defending your own meta, and using the "busy" excuse, however true it may be, just makes me more inclined to suspect that you are scum.
So far INH's reads are Kara is town, JJJ looks a "tad suspicious," and Owner should be lynched.
I currently think Kara looks suspicious, and see no reason to town read him. Sort of agree with the JJJ thing, and disagree that Owner should be lynched.

PS: Day 1's are, have been, and always will be random garbage-y crapshoots barring major fuckery.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 1
I'm gonna drop a vote on Owner. Her efforts so far just seem disingenuous. Her "read" of DH is unjustified baloney, and her other reads are substance-less.
Hopefully I'll be able to participate more on Day 2, and I want to do some more research into JJJ and TH.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 1
Would you trust other people who have played with DH over a ton of games and have seen him as both scum and civ if they were to tell you that you were barking up the wrong tree with your meta characterization of him?Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:02 pmIt's not a regression. It is potentially a meta thing.insertnamehere wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 1:06 pm Alright, I'm now caught up.
So far, I ain't impressed.

Ah, yes, Player Salad! That mafia term that we all definitely know/remember the definition of. But, y'know, just for shit and/or giggles, could you please define that term?Long Con wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 9:25 amPLAYER SALAD! Great catch, and an even greater image used. Took me a sec, at first I thought the women represented the accused players laughing at the accuser. Which was fun too.nutella wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:19 amOwner of a Lonely Heart wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 11:23 pmJJJ seems alright. I want to look at Quin. Epi is null. I respect you, but that doesn't mean I'll stop being critical of you.
I think yourself, JJJ, nova, and poutanko are the players I feel like I might have some meta on.![]()
Player salad is a proven finder of baddies. Even the last game I was in, I accused Luna of it, and she was bad.

While I'm not here y'all best find excuses to do work and not excuses to do fuck all. Epi's recent grumbles are valid.
[VOTE: Quin] aubergine, because he said some shit I didn't like earlier. He provided a token response to Epi's dig at juliets which just looked like "this is where I am supposed to interject with this here comment" instead of "this is a problem and I want to address it".I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't have read anything at all into Quin saying that, and the fact that Jay did is a little weird.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia
Chose Goblet of Fire, as it was my favorite book. Still think Prisoner of Azkaban is the best movie, but that might just be my Alfonso Cauron fanaticism shining through.
Always thought of myself as a Slytherin, but I suppose the line between them and Gryffindor is pretty blurry anyway.
Also the set-up for this game looks hype as hell.
