Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 2]

Ok but his comments on it as boo points out makes it sound like he doesn't know what it is. All I'm saying is we could be seeing newness and not baddieness but I don't know the guy outside of this game - I didn't play Donner - so I'm just giving an opinion based strictly on this thread.

Because if it's yes to both, a change up in how he's playing in this game isn't surprising at all.
I just re-read snowman and my comment was going to be "isn't anyone who suspects him bothered by the fact that he is brand new?". He did make that coalescing comment and even said he would hop on a bandwagon if the right one came along which doesn't look good, but he's new. Maybe I'm missing something.
Is it impossible for new people to be assigned baddie roles? That's news to me.
No not at all. But he could easily be a civ who is not being coached. Wouldn't his baddie teammates have explained to him what bandwagon means?

I get that your questions arise from Epig's analysis, but I personally don't see the game comparison relevance as much, since I'm fully suspicious of him in this game.
Rico, llama gave me his reason for suspecting Snowman - is your reason any different?

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 2]

TH, I want to sort out what people see in Snowman and re-read FZ. It seems like the case on FZ. is more meta and I don't recall if I've ever seen her bad. So I'll re-read her posts and see if I see anything there. I'm not looking at DH, Epi, boo, you or SVS at this time but there are a lot of people that are just sitting there with a question mark for me. Depending on what happens tomorrow I'll re-read some others as well. I'm not convinced about anyone right now.

Re: Death Note Mafia [NIGHT 1]

Btw, someone mentioned Russ had voted day 0 and probably not been back to the thread. That is incorrect. I saw him here yesterday - in the thread not sitting outside the thread at the main index. I almost called him out but figured he must be about to post. When he didn't that strongly reinforced my feeling that for some reason he can't post. I don't think he'd just be in the thread for fun or reading if he wasn't still playing.

My third suspect is Zomberella for this post
viewtopic.php?f=60&t=541&start=120#p114692

Which I found suspicious because it reads to me like an early attempt to put suspicion on players, but not by directly accusing them. Rather, by accusing them by proxy via boo and having boo do the legwork/put the pieces of that case together, therefore making the results of the case boos responsibility.
This hasn't changed.
I'm sorry. There are just so many posts I overlooked this one. Thanks!

That doesn't sound like a civ Epi that I am familiar with. :ponder:

Btw, what is a juliet-tier questioning?
Thats something Made made up. I ask questions, a lot of them usually, and he seems to think thats a bad thing. Or at least he did when we played that last game and he accused Dom of asking juliet-tier questions. What's funny is Dom was known for asking questions before I was. Is that where you got that expression?

On Epi, he absolutely does throw things out to see what kind of reaction he gets. Whether thats what he was doing with the Russ stuff i don't know. It makes no sense to me why he didn't vote Russ unless it was something like that.

Trice I made an assumption about your answer, i.e., that you had to give a reason that didn't fit the question I was asking because you had not gone back and looked after you said you would. But just so there is no misunderstanding going forward, please clarify. I can't change my vote but maybe it will stop others from voting for you.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

Trice, I don't really understand what you are saying because your post refers to the past so supposedly aces had already pulled things from people who voted Light/L. I have to also add though that I thought Aces reasoning about baddies voting normal lynch made some sense to me and though I haven't yet I will take another look at who those people who voted that option. Not saying I totally believe it but his reasoning was solid I felt.

I went back and read both yours and Aces posts and came out of that experience feeling sure you had misrepresented what Aces said - several times in fact. I feel like Aces summed it all up when he said:
AceofSpaces wrote:Here is my Tl;dr

Trice started this day making a bunch of fluff post, then when I said I was suspicious of him he wigged out and responded in a manner consistent with mafia members (over defensive, using flimsy evidence to try and discredit me, taking my post out of context to conjure up a poor case)

Though I would prefer you took the time to read the whole case. I put a lot effort into it. :)
I did note in reading that you had some posts that weren't fluff posts proceeding his calling you out but there were enough fluff posts to make me uneasy.

My read is that you are bad and even though the evidence might not be overwhelming it's what I've got for today.

Voting Trice

What?
I defend myself from DH/him, and at the same time level my own accusations, he responds by saying "im gonna lynch u now" instead of defending himself, what are you asking about? Aceofspades is:

L/Light supporter
low poster
sharing other people's ideas exclusively - without even going back to the original "suspicious" posts

it's not concrete but it's multiple pings - lynching baddies consistently is about either an obvious slip (there have been none yet by anybody) or behaviour recognition over the course of several days.

If I have time this evening I'll read back through the thread and determine which people aceofspades is pulling theories from (be nice if he had used quotes instead of barely rephrasing) - if they are similarly L/Light supporters with other pings, I'm probably on to something here.

As I said before, keeping an eye on people who do something isn't remotely the same thing as lynching somebody for doing something - which is what DH and AceOfSpades are bother trying to do. The game isn't the simplistic - not if you want to win. Flag it and continue playing, vote the players with the most flags.
Tricer did you ever do this? I did not see anything about it in your posts.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

I'm back - yay.

I've been reading the posts that I missed this morning and i have to admit I don't yet have someone I'm certain about voting for. I'm intrigued by Epi's suspicion of Russ (I don't mean I will be voting for Russ, just that I'm intrigued). Epi isn't one that i have noticed in games going for the low poster or even the non poster but it could be I'm misremembering. This case does feel a little different from past cases in that Russ voted but hasn't posted and he voted for an option that imo is a baddie option. Unfortunately we don't know why he voted that option. If he's bad though wouldn't he have just skipped voting altogether so as not to raise the question why is he voting and not talking? Could the role say both he must vote but cannot post until some game mechanism happens? I can't help but think MP wouldn't have written a role with so much going against it. So I'm not convinced yet that Russ is bad but it is an interesting theory.

I am about to re-read Trice because in the discussions so far he sticks out to me. llama, I think someone may have mentioned this but TH changing his mind so much does not sound like a baddie thing to me. I think a baddie would be more sure of his opinion.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 0]

I still can't get what SVS said about the advantage for the civs being based on how astute L is. I know if it were me I would not have the confidence it takes and be really stressed to be L (I'm not though). My point is I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way. There are a few people I would trust as L but hell at this point they could be anybody. Some may have the opinion that voting for a normal lynch is a baddie move but there is nothing I see that I can say that would change their mind at this point so i will just respectfully disagree and agree with the argument that says the same can be true for those picking the L/Light option. I can't believe this is just a Day 0 vote - they usually aren't this intense. I'm voting for a normal lynch.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 0]

I'm leaning toward normal lynch because of the point made about L being one of our most astute players. If he/she is not we good get ourselves into trouble. I would really like to try a new mechanic but I don't think this is the one. DH is persuasive though so I'm going to hold out a little longer just in case he comes up with something that speaks to me to vote Light/L.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 0]

omg, I went out to dinner and when i returned this thread had exploded. I have read through it once but tbh i don't think I fully understand the two sides of the argument. I'm going tell my self its because I'm tired and it's late and get up in the morning and read everything again before i decide which way to vote. There are good points on both sides of the argument for the L/Light choice and the normal choice (I'm not considering any of the other choices).
