MovingPictures07 wrote:Well, perhaps you're right, but then that makes two roles that essentially work the same way. That seems redundant -- something Epig wouldn't do. But thinking that the Hatter can somehow disrupt the game beyond the normal win conditions as Epig stated somehow seems contradictory, so that's why I never put too much concern over my message from the Hatter, but I have been slightly paranoid ever since I got it, to be frank.

Nonetheless, I agree that we should try to find baddies firstmost, but I am a bit concerned about the Hatter's win conditions, and obviously the message you got was to try to influence you to lynch those who either aren't or are those names (though I would think it would be aren't those names).

DH, are you implying that you think LC is the Hatter then? The Hedgeowl lynch is the one where LC almost died.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Seriously? What else did it say, or was that it?

I've been trying to figure out ever since I got that message what "hats" meant. I figured it could be one of two things:
1) The Hatter gives people hats, somehow, maybe by targeting them -- I thought that then I was given a hat by being targeted with the message, but I thought that seemed unlikely if he called me his "hatless friend"
2) The hats correspond to whether our roles have hats

But neither of those two explanations ever fully satisfied me.

It said something about how my head was rather large, and made very overt threats regarding me placing my vote in a certain direction :P

It's the Hatter. I knew it.

The Hatter sent me a message a few days ago threatening me and telling me he didn't like my win condition -- and that I should help him get rid of people who were "hatless" (of course, how the hell am I supposed to know that?) or that if I would I would be spared, and if I didn't then I would not be spared. He also called me "my hatless friend". I thought it was probably an empty threat, but nonetheless it did worry me, so I didn't mention it in thread because I didn't know who The Hatter was and I didn't want to get on his bad side unnecessarily.

But I feel I should say this now.

Now that it seems like something may be going on behind the scenes, maybe it would be in our best interest to try to get rid of the Hatter today, especially if they're more of a threat than I was initially thinking they were. And especially because... I think Daisy may be onto something with DH being the Hatter, but I really don't know. The message to me was written in an eloquent fashion, so I assumed it could be LC, DH, or Blooper by the way it was written, but I really wasn't sure.
I'm not the Hatter, and I can prove it. I got "A Message" from the Hatter regarding LC, telling me he needed to be "hatted" or something.

This doesn't make sense. He said both me and LC, that he KNOWS we are civ. If he were a baddie covering his ass he would not use that kind off certainty in his terms. Because he can't KNOW I am civ. You can't honestly tell me you think the baddies have both a living and a dead role check? Epi does a better job of balancing his games than that. And thinking I am civ would not cover his ass since there are two baddie teams. There is no logic in what you are saying DH. You accused LC of interpreting things to fit his theory and you are doing the exact same thing now with me. And what you are saying doesn't even make any logical sense.

How does it not make any logical sense that he would lie and say he *knows* you are civ in order to gain your trust? Tell you wait SD, how about this. I know you are civ. Do you trust me now?

Because he clearly said he knows I'm civ. I know he is telling the truth, there is no baddie way to know I am civ for certain. Only civ. And I therefore trust he is telling the truth about LC as well.

@juliets because of the way you came after me the other day. I've already explained that. And up to that time I had the same feeling about you as timmer, so yeah...

@all, what are others feeling about Juliets? Am I missing something about her I shouldn't be overlooking?
Well that's just outright ridiculous. There are baddie/indie secrets, and he could just be lying. Saying he "knows" you are civ means nothing. Using that as the basis to trust him is completely ridiculous at this stage in the game.

For example, Zeek was first to vote Snow Dog so that does not seem like a sorcerer thing to do. Especially given how zeek seemed to gun after Snowy if I remember correctly. So I don't believe he is a Sorcerer.

Linki @ MP - I've tossed around the idea that Snowy's vote was forced in that instance, though admittedly this is a remarkable coincidence if true (that Snow Dog's vote would be forced to his teammate, and one of only two lynch options.)

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 9]

On the Sorcerer angle, lets take a look at the Bass voters and see if anything pops out:

Bass_the_Clever
9
Elohcin (3), Dom (4), Boomslang (10), zeek (11), bea (12), nijuukyugou (14), Russtifinko (16), juliets (17), Roxy (19)

Dom is obviously a Sorcerer

Boomslang I've expressed suspicion might be a Sorcerer given the distancing with Dom and the sketchy WIFOM comments

Russ and Roxy are both dead and not likely to have been Sorcerers

So the list is then:

Eloh
Boomslang
Zeek
Bea
Blooper

Can anyone think of anything that discounts anyone of these guys from being a Sorcerer? The narrower we can get our search the better.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 8]

@MP seeing as you think I addressed those points quite well originally, I'll go ahead and leave those original points as I addressed them. I will however reiterate:

1) I came after Made D2 and expressed suspicion of Bass. I continued to express similar suspicions and actively (aggressively, I will admit, but such is my way) expressed frustrations as to the idea of people ignoring Made as a suspect unless either he flipped bad (which was and is hilariously backwards) or someone who voted for llama (such as Bass) flipped bad.

2) I voted for Dom during the Dom/Bass lynch, which doesn't make an incredible amount of sense if I am a Sorcerer. I also brought forward points against Dom, which doesn't make an incredible amount of sense if I was forced to vote for Dom (it would be more logical to be as obvious about the forced vote as others have been)

3) I voted for Snow Dog. Throwing *one* team mate under the bus is something I do not entertain the thought of even on my worst day. Two in the same game is absolutely ridiculous.

So given my opposition to not one, but two players on both mafia teams, how can you genuinely suspect that I am mafia? Even ignoring that argument, how can you suspect that I am mafia *with SVS*?

Again, her being Snape makes the most sense. Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read the books or seen the movies:

One of Snape's secrets is probably his ability to cast his Patronus (a Doe, representing the characters affections for Lily Potter) in order to guide the thread. In the books and the movies, he does this same exact thing in order to secretly guide Harry to a valuable weapon he can use to destroy Voldemort's horcruxes. Voldemorts horcruxes, in contrast, are material objects for the most part that hold no such ability.

MovingPictures07 wrote:DH, it's possible I'm wrong about either or both of you, I just find it REAL convenient and interesting that:
- I had made a post connecting both of you and saying you were both bad ages ago.
- Despite S~V~S being a "confirmed civ" as you say, she is still alive, and it appears Voldemort is still alive. I also have no idea how she was confirmed as Snape and not Voldy. But if you can show me she's Snape, that'd be great.
- You both make this push to lynch Daisy right after the Day period is over, even after Boomslang came in and vouched for Daisy and LC, yet neither of you address whether you believe him or not. And you also fail to address my point about the other Suit likely being completely inactive, although there is strong evidence to suggest that fact due to the last kill PM not sent in. I also find it interesting you came up with all these reasons to push evidence AWAY from that before, in a very manipulative fashion, as I said previously, even though your reasons made no sense.

Linki w/ DH: If you'll recall, I already addressed your vote for Dom. I'll bring it back up.

I'll consider your point about Lily; I'm pretty ignorant of the Harry Potter franchise.
Understand this completely;

No theory is a "good" theory unless it can stand up against opposing ideas. The idea that the last Suit is inactive is one way to explain the situation, but it's not the only way. If that is the case, you would surely agree that Made fits the profile of an inactive player up until his lynch, given how sporadically he checked in?

Also, I'm confused, are SVS and I Sorcerers that for some reason are defending Suits? Or am I a Suit deflecting attention away from an inactive teammate? If I am a suit, can you explain why I went after Made Day 2 and expressed suspicion of Bass? Again, you seem to think I value the safety of my teammates very little, which is uncharacteristic of me.

Speaking in regards to your Boom point:

I still suspect Boom, so his "vouching for" (lmao) SD does very little to sway me.

Again, I don't think you'd be bringing any of this up if it was anyone other than SD. Which is perfectly fine, but I'm just suggesting you perhaps consider the idea that you may not be thinking clearly.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 8]

(this was an EBWOP that turned into a Linki)

ORIGINAL POST:
MP, Can I ask you (and anyone else feel free to chime in):

If you think I'm a Sorcerer, how would you explain my vote for Dom? Surely you can see the logical gap there. Granted, Snow Dog (A Sorcerer) also voted for Dom, but in what scenario does it make sense for TWO teammates to vote for Dom in such a close lynch?

Even then, how would you explain my vote against Snow Dog? Do you really think so little of me that I would throw two teammates under the bus in one game?

Certainly not. Though again, that you're claiming I'm a sorcerer with SVS (whom you would have to be blind deaf and halfway to stupid not to see is a civ) speaks volumes about how seriously you value your suspicion of me at all.

Addendum:

Bro, the Spacedaisy thing is a tough nut to crack. On the one hand, her connection to Made compounds onto the other evidence against her (Not voting bass, for example). If you can explain to me how Made being Boddy exonerates SD, I'll listen. What Boom thing are you asking about? I'll have to go back and re-read to see if I understand.

And the "Lily Potter" account's avatar was a doe, which is Severus Snape's patronus (an 'avatar of light' used to ward of Dementors that takes the shape of an animal, also dealing with happy memories or some emotional signficance to the caster or some shit IDK been a while since I read the books).

The SVS=Voldemort theory has no legs, because Voldemort's horcruxes had nothing to do with Lily Potter or creating anything resembling what we saw from the Lily Potter account. It makes zero sense.

I don't understand why people are suspicious of Elo, I've seen nothing out of the ordinary in her play so far.

I think it is likely that we had civ v civ action on Day 2 and the baddies let us run with it. It's an easy out for two lynches if they did, because it would not be until made flipped before we realized it.

I am going to do some re-reading to see if anything jumps out at me.

Awesome result for Made! Take THAT Mr Boddy, you ain't blackmailing me no more! *stomps on grave*

Sorcerer kill tonight. Hope you guys can stop the baddie trend of failing to kill! :haha:
Does Made flipping suit make you think twice about me at least? Given my early case of Made.

Based on my thoughts about the innocence of Spacedaisy, DH and SVS have attracted my attention due to their cases earlier in the day. I also noticed a bit of agreement/coordinated discussion between these two, possibly propelled by BTSC. I'm not too hyped about the Made push; I'm not reading anything crazily baddie.

SVS is literally confirmed civ.

Going to start RE:SVS I love her curse, but someone said she outed herself. Was that a joke? Also, SVS, do you know who cursed you?

And as a General read on SVS, she seems more involved in this game than she is in games where she's good. In Misfits and Monty Python, I found myself able to bounce of her easily, later learning that in Misfits she was bad and Monty, she was attempting to get actions drawn to her.

Lilly is interesting... Having not read the harry potter series, I'm pretty sure that re:voldies' bio that if Lilly is a Horcrux, she will disappear by tomorrow. If she's still here, it would more likely be Snapes.
Lilly claim to be killed by Voldie would make her INH which I very much doubt considering 727 isn't currently a thing....unless It's a player that voldie voted for, which i'd call less likely.

I think the claims against TH is pretty weak, as if he were bad and had knowledge of Bass's role, he wouldn't of had any knowledge of Doms. While this could be called a weak theory/attempt to set Dom up for a lynch on today at its most vindictive , I wouldn't call it a slip.

I read over everything carefully, but I feel like i need to read it over again. I think vote analysis of Bass and DF would be the best use of our time for now, as anything Dom is Wifom city.

linki- Can someone explain Potter v SVS? I am so lost.
Taking completely out of context. Dom (and bass) are wifom city because we have to decide if a baddie would vote for their teammate or the alternative. Before I posted this, DH said "a baddie would vote for their own team presumably" or ssomething to that effect. So I said this as a counter point.

Simplifying my point.
There are three possible things a person Could of done during that lynch:

1. vote Dom
2. Vote bass
3. Vote both.

All three are (were? I've only skimmed since my last read)currently being used to say someone is bad

Obviously a baddie did, because those are the only three options!

I think I actually attacked of timmers post with this one so gonna look for a person go vote for now..... I think I know where I'm going....
When did I say a baddie would vote for their own teammate? What.

You don't believe that. Baddies aren't one-dimensional logic circuits. "It stands to reason" that a baddie would vote their teammate as distancing when they see that their teammate is already going down.
Not to sound harsh, but the Dom/Bass lynch was really close. It was not at all a one-sided affair. So, since neither of them were at any major disadvantage, again it seems logical to me that Suits voted Dom and Sorcerers (with the exception of a forced Snow Dog) voted Bass.
Who did you vote for?
Check the voting record.
You voted Dom. Which makes you a Suit, right? ;)
What does that make you?

Not *all* the voters were bad, thats just common sense. Please LC. This whole thing you've got going with splitting hairs is starting to drive me up a wall. Ignore facts all you want, but please tone back on the hair splitting semantics and circular logic. Its not becoming :P

You know what? Screw it. Time to put my money where my mouth is on Made. Depending on how he flips, SD will look better or worse, so its a reasonable vote.

Spacedaisy wrote:LC, I don't really know for sure, but I find Timmer trustworthy IMO too.

Elo, I did post a summary. I find it suspicion that she came in here and instead of pulling the original quote in which I said "I have got a read on Juliets but I can see why her sudden inactivity looks bad especially considering what appears to be a missed PM," she pulled the post a few posts later where I said "it should have read I HAVENT got a read on juliets," and then used that to question me and cast suspicion on me about why I voted for her saying she was the best I had to go on. She said something to the effect of, "the best you have to go on is no read at all???" It was super shady business if you ask me. What I was going on was the missed PM coupled with her inactivity, not no read at all. That was just my edit.

DH I am not civ guilting. I fully expect to be lynched today and I am perfectly ok with it. This is not me throwing a tantrum or being pouty or anything of the sort. I just think the civs need to get some solid information and if they need to lynch me to get there then go for it. The baddies are keeping me around right now because I'm a distraction to be frank.

JC, if the votes go another way that's fine too, I'm just not going to be upset over being lynched, this game has been too fraught with emotions already for me and my taste. I'm tired of fighting with everyone. I'm still playing right now though. But I doubt I will make it to the end anyway unless we have some amazing luck finding baddies, I just think eventually I am going to get lynched because there has been too much talk of lynching me, too much suspicion over me. I've accepted this, lol.

Linki @LC: awe, thanks LC! But I am not trying to make anyone feel bad for me. I wouldn't have said it unless I felt that it might be in the civs best interest to just let go and let them get it over with.

Linki @Boom: good to know someone other than MP trusts me, lol. I won't be voting for you now for sure.

Linki @Juliets: your last posts make me feel bad for suspecting you, lol. Thanks for being encouraging.

I still don't understand this. If you are a civvie, what makes laying down and taking a lynch any better than being completely inactive? Right now, I'm convinced you are a Suit. What would convince me otherwise is if you started putting up a fight, making cases, being as adamant about your innocence as MP was. But all I'm seeing is the exact opposite.

I think there is plenty of evidence to suggest for example that Made is a suit, and it would fit with the Dom/Bass lynch theories that he missed the vote.

I do not at all agree with whomever it was that said we should not put as much stock into the Dom/Bass lynch and the DF stuff as we've been putting into it.

Dom was a Sorcerer, Bass was a Suit, they were the only two options on the board. It stands to reason that the teams did everything in their power to save their teammates by voting the other baddie. I have to assume that Snow Dog's Dom vote means that he was somehow forced to vote for Dom for whatever reason. Other than that, its almost like we've been served the baddies on a platter.

I always feel sad and sympathetically frustrated when a player gives up and says we should lynch them. I believe that Spacedaisy is legit, and I like Spacedaisy, and I want to win with Spacedaisy.
Let's not and say we did.
