Thanks. And good play. There were what, 4 of us in this game that were playing back then: You, me, BR, and Illy (also Daisy, but she was already dead at that point). I didn't remember off hand, I checked DD's old spreadsheet. BR never liked the self-kill play from her team last time. Illy was playing a quiet game. And I'm suspish enough in any given game on here (including this one), that no one is going to actually listen to me when I mention the possibility. I'm glad I mentioned it. It at least made me feel better for considering the possibility.Long Con wrote: And Lorab, good instincts, I was pleased that no one listened to you.

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 8)
I was talking more about your posts than your votes. In my reading, you latch onto the suspicion of the day--and then vote wherever. And yes, I find that suspicious. You can explain how different players play all you want--I do understand the game, thanks--but different people use different methods.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Alright Lorab, this is a post you made about me yesterday, and the first accusation I could find from you against me all game.LoRab wrote:Sorry, I had about 5 minutes to be able to post and didn't have time to elaborate.Epignosis wrote:It's these kinds of posts that make me think "She's bad."LoRab wrote:That's the main point that makes me hesitant about you. Let's also say that one of the three people Wilgy checked had BTSC and they were civ with BTSC.
How would that make you feel about your current voting suspicions, if this were true?
What specifically about MM's posts this past day made you feel worse? What did he say? Why?
Just vaguely nodding and going, "He made me feel worse" makes me feel worse about you.
In short, it's partly tone and partly that he's gone back and forth on everyone, seemingly hopping onto whatever name comes up at a given moment. His accusations and posts read as disingenuous to me.
I have not been hopping onto whatever name comes up, seemingly or otherwise. I do try to make a meaningful vote on a daily basis... usually.
Why do you think it's bad to "jump on lynch trains"? I know lynching a civilians isn't a good thing, and it doesn't look great when a player does it, but in my opinion, it looks worse to not have any part in lynches, regardless of who is lynched. Constantly placing your vote elsewhere is worse because that means you are avoiding getting your hands dirty. This is a common mafia strategy, and Sorsha is a perfect example of this.
Looking back, the day that you were supposed to be lynched, Sorsha didn't vote on either of the bandwagons, but voted for Long Con.
Interesting how you turn my suspicion around onto what mafia strategy actually is (because, you know, mafia never uses bandwagons to hide), and then point out that sorsha didn't vote on a bandwagon in the lynch in which I wasn't lynched. Really nice way to take suspicion and try to make it not be about you at all.
Nice switcheroo.

There's only one vanilla role in this game and that was bubbles. So, what role are you claiming exactly? Or are you saying you have Btsc? Which negates that you've been implying that Wilgy was correct. And you are not likely Matt's partner which would have given a no Btsc show before they found each other because you have him the final vote. So what role exactly are you claiming?Scotty wrote:

Also, that's not what I've done. I didn't post day 7, for instance, that you (Epi) are probably civ and then go after you today. I've been unsure about a number of players and when names have come up I've considered them and gone with my thoughts on them. I have a few players I believe are civ--the others are question marks.
I also know that I'm not bad. and i'll vote for anyone other than myself to save myself because at least with another player, there is a chance of lynching a baddie. You are the third player with multiple votes--would you rather I vote for you?

Re: Downton Abbey Mafia (Day 8)
I don't konw what their nk priorities or strategy has been. But they seem to have been doing a great job controlling all of the lynches except for 1, so I'd argue that they're using lynches as kills.Epignosis wrote:Then why wouldn't the mafia just kill you?LoRab wrote:Not sure how to answer that without info dumping. But it's an assumption I'm making based on my own knowledge.
Also possible that they see me as easier to lynch than their nk targets, since I've been mislynched on this site a lot and am easy to get a bandwagon going against on this site because I'm frequently misread as bad, so they figured they'd go with keeping me around for lynching.
The only thing that's been brought against me is my votes. I've explained all my votes. Without saying what I've said, I'm not sure how to defend. How would you have me defend?Metalmarsh89 wrote:The problem with this argument, is this is exactly what Sorsha did too. But, really, because I've been doing my best to help the civies. I haven't jumped on a number of the lynch trains that have formed. I did have a lynch train formed against me--which at least 1 civie thought was BS based on the fact that I was saved. And I'll make that 2 civies that thought it was BS because of Wilgy (even though no role is infallible, as I point out above).
Speaking of redirects, what if the mafia got a hold of a lynch switch the day you were supposed to be lynched. You said we can't be sure about Scotty because of the potential for redirects, but we also can't be sure that a civilian switched the lynch from you.
Yeah that's WIFOM. :PLoRab wrote:Also, and I know this is WIFOM, but look at the kills. Do those really look like choices that I would advocate? Even knowing that any 1 baddie only has so much of a voice on a team, I don't think any of the choices are ones with which I would remotely agree to.
And I also know that the baddies probably know my role by now and would be quite happy to lynch me. So, the fact that people keep mentioning my name for amorphous reasons--some of those folks have to be bad and are trying to keep things in that direction.
I can't really help if what I'm saying is similar to a completely different player who was bad also happened to have been saying.
And, it's true, the mafia could have gotten a hold of and used a lynch switch in that lynch. I admit in my post that the possibility of shenanigans in anything exists. Please don't try to paint it as I'm saying that it proves anything about me. That said, the mafia switching the lynch wouldn't even necessarily mean that I'm bad.
And I know it can be read as WIFOM--that's why I pointed it out. But, the fact is, that sometimes, the wine in front of you is just wine.

Epig hasn't really given a case why he thinks I am, other than that I've been playing a low key game. Which really has nothing to do with the fact that I'm bad and everything to do with the fact that I'm busy.

Unless you believe there were shenanigans involving either Wilgy's assumed btsc check OR Wilgy was just causing shenanigans himself.
Epi, when Sorsha was lynched, you had your vote on Long Con before you moved it last second, right?
That brings me to my shower revelation: Lorab had her vote on LC too.

In the interest of being thorough, these are Lorab's votes so far. Nothing terribly inspiring. If the mafia didn't kill their own teammate, then the Long Con votes could have been an attempt to save Sorsha, but Matt was stinking up the thread farting Illyria's name over and over. Can a fart even sound like "Illyria?" Somehow I don't think it can. Her voting Illyria (if she were around) would look too fishy if Illyria got lynched and turned out to be good.
My point is that Lorab has stayed on the sidelines largely, like Sorsha, and if your thinking is that mafia let civilians lynch each other, that's what she's doing if she's bad.
Yes, I know what DrWilgy said. A gentlemen still must cogitate aloud.
2: I was travelling in Texas for a wedding and visiting friends, and completely lost track of time and of there being a vote
3: I thought the lynch ended later than it did
4: It was the first night of Passover, and in prep for the holiday and the holiday itself, I did not have the chance to get online
5: Nero was the suspect that seemed the most suspicious at that time. His vote for me, previously, was out of the blue and he just said that he was convinced and it read to me like jumping on the chosen bandwagon. That was suspish to me, so I voted for him.
6: I didn't really have an opinion on Sorsha, and BR had posted about suspecting LC. Her reads of him tend to be spot on, and I give them much credence. Therefore, I voted for him.
7: I suspected Scotty. I still do.
I haven't had time to put enough time into the game to have strong opinions. Especially with the lynches clearly being led by (even if subtly led by) the baddies, it's hard to have strong convictions, or be able to really expand on those thoughts. And that Sorsha was coasting by is a statement on Sorsha, not on me. I'm also playing a quiet game, that doesn't mean I play the same kind of game as anyone else.Epignosis wrote:And the main reason is this. You don't act like you really want to see a civilian win. You've been on the sidelines, not provoking anything, not really getting your hands dirty. And no, he didn't. And no, Wilgy wasn't wrong on me. I am civ. So, really, if you explain why you think I'm bad, that would be great. Because I don't particularly want to die and because I would really like to see a civ win, and that becames less and less likely with each civ lynch.

I have to leave soon, so if there is a giant fuck up and I am lynched here is what I think, take it or leave it.
Civs:
Epi
BR
Possible Civs:
Matt
Scotty
Llama
MetalMarsh
Mafia:
LC
Dom
Sorsha
Possible Mafia
Ika
I think it is interesting that I announce I have to leave at 3 and right around then votes. What a classic civvie move.
I don't vote with bandwagons unless I agree with them. I put my votes where I think they should go. It is why I only vote once and towards the end of the lynch.
I did not know I missed two votes, and was horrified when I did, it is disrespectful to the host and the players. I was here and posted in the thread for one of them at least.
I do a lot of OT, that is how I roll. It will never change.
Y'all are convicting me on my personality not my playstyle. Which is utter bullshit.
BTW, those of you who are voting for me. If I do die today, we are past the point where you can shrug and be all "What could we dooooo? Wooooe is mmmmeeeeee" as an excuse about it. You will distract us from YET ANOTHER MAFIA LYNCH. You will move yourselves up the list and the Mafia down. AGAIN.
Please y'all please be smart about this. You are allowing the Mafia to sit back and watch as we destroy ourselves.

Voting Scotty. I have lingering suspicion from earlier in the game, mainly based on him somewhat pushing a bandwagon on me. If Llama isn't around to defend points made on him, I'm not ready to vote in that direction. No one else is really popping out at me at this moment. And I don't want to forget to vote.

Also, I remember when I was catching up and doing some ISO's, you and ika struck me as odd with your convos early in the game, I don't quite recall exactly what it was.
But I'm puttin' that on the backburner for an Illy lynch! Woot!
I usually don't vote for silenced or extremely cursed players, unless I believe that they are bad and like them better than other options for that lynch. In this case, I feel there was reason to suspect him in a way that he wouldn't have been able to defend. Also, it was speculated in the thread that he could have been faking the curse, and I thought that argument had some good reasoning behind it.Matt wrote:Oh shit.
