One lynch poll can't be used exclusively to find baddies. We've seen now that Bass voted for his own teammate in one poll while Snowy voted for a teammate in another. Its the accumulation of a voting pattern that is key, not any one vote.

I go back to Day 1 now and am forced to revisit whether Snowy was indeed saving DH after all. I've gone back and forth on this.

I think I understand what bea and eloh are saying, though I'm not sure, but if I'm right about it, I'm not sure why they are being so cavalier about talking about it like this.

Right now, I trust zeek based on gameplay. I trust MP - in the sense that I know what he has to do in this game and thus I know how his actions affect me and the rest of us. I trust S~V~S based on a logical assumption. I trust Long Con based on a hunch. I think I trust Bea and Elohcin, though that's another hunch.

I do not trust Daisy. Or Nijuu. I don't really trust DH because of side factors, i.e. what others think of him. I don't trust any of the silent players and cannot stand that they have give-up playing (and don't believe that a game mechanic would simply have wiped out so many players' ability to play).

Everyone else is in a gray area.

And I'm not personally letting Snowy's posts detract me. I've seen frustrated divs AND frustrated baddies alike throw that kind of thing. It happens whenever you are taking heat for reasons that you do not think are worthy, but it misses three things: 1) you read the game from a specific POV and others have a different way of looking at it 2) sometimes blind luck on the part of others can get you lynched and 3) you don't know everything that is out there.

All in all, frustration does NOT equal civ, Not necessarily.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 7]

Guys, I spent all of late last night cramming, studying voting records and trying to find links. Those of you who have had the misfortune of sharing civ BTSC with me will have experienced my mania firsthand. (Juliets bore the brunt of this when I was the narrator, for instance).

But, I also only have ten minutes before I'm heading out the door to friends' for the rest of the weekend, so I've got to be super brief.

First, I'm not voting DH today. I'e studied various lynches and while I think there is still a chance that DH is a suit, the evidence is great for me that snowy is bad but not AS great as to who his teammate is. It could be DH. It could also be Daisy. It's unclear. But Snowy's vote for DH today didn't help his cause, in my eyes. And Roxy's death, ugh, I don't like it. I am comfortable saying I think Snowy is bad, but not yet comfortable about teammates. Not strong enough.

But, I'll point out one other person who came to light last night.

nijuu.

Day 1 lynch: DH was at 6 votes. MM at 4. LC at 2. Nijuu voted LC, avoiding the two main lynches. Not too big a deal, right?

Day 2 lynch: Made was at 5 votes. llama 4. nijuu bypassed them and voted Eloh, avoiding the main two lynches. Not a huge deal still maybe?

Day 3 lynch: DF is at 7 votes, Boomslang 3, DH 2. nijuu votes LC, bypassing all three main lynches. now I'm seeing a pattern.

Day 4 lynch: dom vs bass.

Posts a wishy-washy single post the whole day:

"About this poll...I haven't had strong feelings about either contender, as many others have expressed, as well. I haven't really played with Bass much to differentiate his games. Dom to me seems pretty...Dom. Not much out of the ordinary. I definitely thought it was weird of him to say that Bass was Civ in light of this poll, but I suppose I can understand it? Maybe? I wouldn't do it in his situation. And it puts the voter in a conundrum - if you trust Dom, and Dom says Bass is good, then who do you vote for? That being said, I don't necessarily trust either of them. My gut says vote Bass. Sorry, absentee."

Votes bass. Both bass and Dom were at 5 votes at the time.

Skip Day 5 as it's a wash.

Day 6, nijuu is interesting. He seems like he is one of panickers moving votes around, but he isn't. He used his same thoughts on LC from Day 1 to vote him. What's most noticeable? At the time he voted Long Con, the main vote getters were Russ, and I think DH/Snowy? Basically about three people had votes and LC had only 1. So once again, nijuu went out of his WAY to avoid being attache to any lynch train. What happened afterwards was that others followed him.

So I still believe Snowy is bad news and will leave my vote on him. But I believe nijuu has worked pretty hard to avoid being looked at by staying away from attention all game. I'd like others to look at him, please, to see what yu think. Now I've got to run.

Again, let's not lynch DH right now, or at least not for anything I'VE previously said, I'm pulling back a bit on it. And Snowy's vote for him just reinforces that snowy is bad for sure, for me.

Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Night 6]

Ugh. I'm tuning out for the day, I'm still tired after yesterday.

But I found a good case yesterday on Snowy, a case I liked better than the various thoughts on Long Con, Daisy, Bea, take your pick. Snowy was the case I liked and I planned to stick to it.

And frankly, the thread then went apeshit. Everyone ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. OMG maybe Russ? OMG maybe Long Con?

Even though I've found reason to eye Long Con in this game, and have previously suggested he could be bad (and still could be), there was NO WAY I was going to abandon my case against Snowy that I had built up, to jump on a ridiculous last-second push that was clearly being pushed by YOU, Tyler Durden, and was being driven by a bunch of people who hadn't even been paying attention in the game. It was an AWFUL series of events, and I still can't believe what happened yesterday.

And now you want to call me bad for NOT jumping onto the crazy train yesterday? For sticking with my own case, LOL?

That's awesome. Like I said, keep on trollin'.

MovingPictures07 wrote:Also, timmer, you should reconsider your narrow-minded approach to DH and Snowy.

Didn't Rox say she was sick earlier? So how would her vote for Snowy on D6 have anything to do with that?
Are you suggesting that Roxy died of a poisoning or something?

When asked about her death comment, she replied:

"elaborate that I am sick? Ok. I have the flu and been running a high fever there was talk of the hospital but I promised my doc I would take a couple of days off which I have. "

I think Roxy was just sick, and that her vote for Snowy very well may have had something to do with her death. Call me narrow-minded if you want, but everyone knows what you're up to, my man. Snowy is bad fucking news.

But you know very well that as the members of a badie team start to get lynched, that the voting records, thread comments and everything start to build up and it becomes increasingly easier with each baddie teammate's death to find the rest of them. Thus, if DH were a suit, for instance, you would have no problem indirectly moving a lynch away from snowy, if you thought snowy was his teammate, as protecting snowy would mean protecting DH. Right?
Hypothetically, sure. I would never know for sure, but you're right that I could make educated guesses.

Unfortunately for that theory, I picked a civilian. ;)
Do you deny that DH is that least a recruit? You were adamant that you would not vote him today.

Whose only voter died mysteriously? Cool... go for it..?
I've never heard of a role power, if that's even what that was and not some other b.s., that worked in a night poll. But now that you say this... yeah, maybe it's safer to pick someone else, anyway. Just to be safe. LOL.
