LOL, no, that's not my bachelor party. Russ is going to another wedding, his roommate in college, this Saturday, a week before mine and Daisy's.

I had my bachelor party back in December when I was in Ohio, since I didn't think I'd be able to fly in until literally the last minute. Turns out I'm flying back on the 5th.

As civilian?
Same as any other game.
If he is bad then he is trying to paint LC as bad bc LC had come up with a plan for the civs to work together. A baddie hates when civs try to work together.

As a civvie idk bc I do not think he is a civ.

Tbh I felt your questions were odd and easily answered for yourself.
I thought I made it clear in my post why I found his actions shady.
By the way, Roxy, regarding this: I was just trying to get you to be open-minded and consider whether MM was civilian.

I myself have been guilty of seeing very weird and illogical behavior as certainly baddie when it turned out the parties were civilian (Elo in Watchmen, G-Man in Economics), so I think it's wise for us to consider every possibility for someone's actions, that's all.

Is it announced though who is tied? The reason I ask is that it seems unusual for there to be a wide spread in a game where one of the baddies has a double-vote, because if it remained a 2-way split it seemed to have high potential for revealing that person (at least from a very small group of possibilities).
Usually not announced.

People I will not vote:

Long Con - More interested in organizing how (presumably) others use their roles (even if it breaks rules or the intention of the game) than looking for someone to lynch Day 1 and making some real progress. Waste of time. I like it.

DharmaHelper - RIP Twosimus. :rip:

Scotty - RIP Scotty :rip:
Epignosis, is there anything you want me to address with regards to that? Other than that, I was going to say go ahead and vote me if you wish, but I see you got impatient and voted elsewhere. That's fine too. :P

Any reason you went with Cookie over ika? You made a comment about him earlier. Or any of the other low poster/no shows for that matter?

Epignosis wrote:This is why 48 hour days are a pointless joke. People seem to love them, but most don't use them. Makes no sense to me. It just invites the same six or seven people to say the same six or seven things six or seven different ways, and then when voting time comes, everybody else is all "oh noes! I have thirteen pages to catch up on!"
Epignosis, I both agree and disagree with this sentiment.

I definitely agree, as someone who is always a top poster and gets frustrated at people who skate through games not posting. However, I think 48 hour days have more potential for greatness, when players do actually take advantage of them -- see Death Note. So in principle, I disagree, and there has been at least one game where I felt 48 hour days really changed the game dynamic for the better. I also can sympathize with Made's sentiment, since I know many of us here just have super busy lives.

Otherwise, I agree that most players don't take advantage of them, and it's a shame.

@ G-Man - do you plan on keeping this gimmick up all game? How will be know your suspects or how will you make a case for anyone. I do think your gimmick is pretty awesome this game. It would be really cool as an insanifier. However, I am not sure you can actually play the game this way. Am I underestimating the G-Man?

But...but...what if I'm right?
Not possible, my friend.

How many drinks have you had? :P
At my age, I stop counting. 14 is a close mark.

Trying to discredit me?
I went to bed close to 11pm and he wasn't drunk at the time. I think its said this post was around 11:30 or so.
My initial reaction to Epi dogging MP was that Epi was just having fun, maybe trying to do MP a favor the week before his wedding and get him lynched. This was reinforced for me when Epi mentioned Daisy. Then this comment about staking his Mafia reputation on MP being bad, kind of a joke playing on something that happened in Watchmen.

But this remark from Eloh got me thinking. If Epi was sober during this it doesn't feel so jokey anymore.

This whole conversation felt false to me. I kind of think Epi was trying to bus MP~ and maybe MP asked him to back off. So he turned to low posters not even halfway through day one, lol. In any case, I don't want to commit to this yet. But I wanted to throw the option out there. I would like to see how they react to this. Since on the other hand this would be somewhat sloppy for Epi, not nearly Byzantine enough.

A few other random thoughts~ I always find self imposed posting restrictions to be suspect. It's a nice way to be cryptic, and avoid actually answering questions and participating while being memorable and leaving people with a smile on their faces. So G-Mans Magic 8 Ball also has my eye, especially if he keeps it up after Day One.

And re Xander & the Xtacles~ I think some sort of coordination is built into the game, or llama would not have given Xander the messaging power. Hopefully Xander used LCs idea & sample post to ask the host the right questions re what is and is not allowed. Without BTSC, thread coordination is what the civvies have.

Also I hate ranking lists, rainbow or otherwise. In a two baddie game, it's just a shopping list for baddies, and I tend to suspect people who make them in 2 bad team games. This has 1 set of baddies and then baddies lite~ the set up reminds me of the set up in HSK a bit, except for the Xtacle Asploder. So I won't find it all that suspicious if others do it, but I am unlikely to be doing it myself. Perhaps later in the game when I have better impressions of everyone.
An intriguing theory, S~V~S, but not true in this case, since I'm not mafia.

The main problem with your theory is that I would tell Epi to back off. :feb: And that he'd actually listen to me. :P

I shouldn't say EVERYONE is boring. G-Man's 8-ball shtick is pretty funny too. I don't know how frisky it is though.

I just hate Day 1's where everyone is twiddling their thumbs, only for a bunch of random or weird-ass votes to come in, but I don't frankly feel comfortable throwing my vote out there just yet, even in the name of zaniness, so I suppose I can understand why it's happening.

That said, part of me is definitely glad this thread isn't another Economics or Watchmen or Death Note. I just can't handle a game like that right now.

Does anyone have any questions for me? Really nervous since I haven’t even seen a single episode of this show… Anybody know who Brent/Trent are? Killing one of them is gonna be an interesting decision, and I feel like I’d make a better choice if I knew more about them. Every Day 0 Poll is almost always nerve wracking.

Who wants to take bets on the first person to ask if anyone has poll info? At least there are only two options. Seems less likely there would be too much oddness with just two options to go off of.
The one problem I can see us running into pretty early is the lack of activity from some of the newer folks, but I’ll hold off judgement on that until more people start to trickle in or the days start to tick by, whichever comes first. Having inactive players (however intentionally) is only going to hurt the civs as the game goes on; having just won a game based on that, I don’t plan on tolerating it if I can help it. Everyone needs to pitch in.

This post is getting a little long but it’s late so it will probably be my only post of the night, better to make it count. Happy to be playing a full game again! I don’t think I could handle a 24/24 game again so soon after Watchmen. Ready to take my time and read everything carefully. Don’t expect me to fuck around with ISO’s or rainbow lists or whatever though.

Rainbow lists, as (inexplicably) popular as they’ve gotten, piss me off because they are annoying and serve no real legitimate purpose. Others obviously disagree, but I figure I’d best get my thoughts on the matter out early; I won’t hold it against anyone who wants to make one, but I won’t really hold those lists in a high regard either. But that’s probably my stubbornness influencing my game. I don’t adapt well to change. Now before I get too ramble-heavy, I’m gonna bounce outta here; bye guys!
Hello, DH!

Rainbow lists aren't popular. :p

This game is 48/24, right?

Agreed on nonparticipants, here's hoping we don't have any.
MP acknowledges this post, but doesn't comment on the saccharine bullshit contained therein.

"Really nervous since I haven't seen a single episode..."

Get bent DH. Fuck that. Pff.

That's my first thing.+
???????

I'm confused, what's your point?
My point is you commented on his post without commenting on the bizarreness of it. That's strange. That is unexpected.
I'm a bizarre dude. :slick:

Hello, HamburgerBoy! Very glad to see you here. :)

Looks like you're the lone RYMer in this game.

It's like going on a blind date with someone- you get this deep, too-good-to-be-true connection. She orders steak and a beer and you're like 'damn girl, she can put that away like the guys' then after dinner she gets up to the go to the bathroom and she never comes back.
:haha:

Scotty, I love your analogies.

Epig won't get my vote today.
YES! I love rainbow-posting Long Con!

G-Man's bit is cracking me up too. You should change your avatar to an 8-ball!

Long Con, why aren't you going to vote for Epi?

Brent and Trent are twins, and they both die. Let's go alphabetical.
As to the D0 poll, I'm not going to overthink it. I'll follow this logic.

Hey MP! Long time no see!
You still planning on getting killed really early in this game like you said a few hours ago?
Hey Scotty! I know right? Glad to be playing with you again after so long!

Indeed I am. :srsnod:

Glad you brought this up, since this will have relevance to my playstyle this game (nonetheless, I put it in green for OT):

For anyone who isn't yet aware, I have a wedding on the 8th, and a honeymoon from the 9th through the 14th. I am flying back to Ohio on the 5th. And I still have a substantial amount of PhD work to complete before then.

So...! I really wanted to play this game, especially because Llama is an amazing host, but I'll be taking a different approach, inevitably due to my RL circumstances. I likely wouldn't have committed to the game if Llama didn't really need players, as much as I wanted to play.

So expect zaniness. Seems fitting for the theme. :llama:
