Agreed, I'm also digging the Keaton Mask. Don't know why I didn't comment on it earlier. Majora's Mask FTW.

I know what you mean; it's still a bit early, but I'm feeling lost in which direction to take, even if I have a few general ideas. As for my vote, AGAIN, I had five minutes. We've all had those times I'm sure. What would you have preferred? A self vote? Jumping on the Hedgeowl express all the way to lynching another civ? I did the only fair thing I could without knowing what had happened.
Honestly, these suspicions seem contrived to me.
What are you thinking now?

Lots of suspicions going around today. I was looking at Boogs on Day 1, and I also haven't really changed my mind much about him. The cheerleading for Team Ganon, as LizKeen mentioned, seems too..."hey hey look I'm a Civ!" And his eyeball towards Liz for pointing it out doesn't really help the case.
I've played with him in DW (and I think another game or two but I can't remember what), which I know he is passionate about (I mean, hey, DT in the avatar is never wrongMovingPictures07 wrote:Actually, I've thought about this a bit more, and I'm not sure I'm getting the passionate, genuine civvie vibes from zeek this game. I will agree - his behavior is different from what I've seen before.

It's late, I'm tired, have a long day tomorrow, so going to mull on things here and see if I can narrow a suspect focus more sufficiently. The timing of this lynch ends terribly for me, right at the end of my night class, and I'm busy all day before then. I'll see if I can pop on at some point in between some work.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Day 2]
Made is still relatively new; this might be close to like his fifth(?) game now, so I'm used to some bizarre behavior from him... but nonetheless, I agree here too. I thought it was shady how people piled onto him; as I usually say, weird does not equate to suspicious. But I suppose it was D1 and nothing really stuck out, so I'm sure there's some misguided civvie in there. For example, I think Boogs's vote looks least bad to me, if I had to assert such a statement. He just comes across as genuine in his vote defense.LizKeen wrote:I re-read his posts before I decided who to vote on and to be honest I didn't find them all that weird. Considering the outcome of the vote I actually find it weirder that you are aren't looking at any Made voters. I also haven't forgotten Sabie who managed to escape the lynch because of all the votes piled on Made.Boogs wrote:Um, i thought he acted strange to begin with and his in thread behavior and he continued being weird. I didnt start a bandwagon or participate in one, but you have to admit his behavior was WAY weird so I dont blame people voting for him. I actually am not looking at Made voters, but rather out of the norm behavior for players i have played with before or votes not making sense.LizKeen wrote:I'm going to be looking back at the people who voted Made Day 1 (Boogs, Zeek, Elohcin, Snow Dog, Bass_the_Clever, Sabie) as it felt very bandwagon-y to me. I feel there must be at least one Hyrule in the bunch. Also I'm confused about why Made wouldn't want to have the same suspicions he had yesterday unless he's now Hyrule or The River.
However, it's also possible baddies wouldn't want to be scrutinized if Made flipped civvie, as he often has for acting weird, so there's that to keep in mind, particularly from those who have played games with him previously.

Very good question, sir! I'm not honestly quite sure yet, I'll have to think about it myself. However, I did wonder if there was a push to lynch you over Sabie due to saving a teammate OR whether a push to lynch both of you could have been bandwagoned by some baddies.Made wrote:Yo MP,

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Day 1]
I'm sorry, I didn't intend to come across grouchy because I'm not grouchy at all, it's just a frustrating double standard -- players who post a lot inevitably get eyeballed when they, for whatever reason, post any less volume, and they often get inevitably eyeballed normally when they post a lot. Whereas players who become known for not posting such volume may be suspected at first, but generally it becomes their "norm". I was just stating that thinking someone is bad more than anyone else just because they sometimes are infamous for posting a large volume, regardless of alignment, and they are not doing so in the current case, especially when it's Night 1 in a Speed game, is a ridiculous suspicion to have.
Also, to weigh in on the contest issue, I agree with Russ. Baddies have BTSC. Civvies have nothing but the thread.

I also don't appreciate Made 1.0 calling me out as possibly bad just because I'm not posting as much as I'm sometimes infamous for doing. That's a ridiculous reason to call me out as a possible way to look for D2.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Day 1]
Finally? I was just here less than 24 hours ago. :P
Anyway, my sincere apologies, folks, I'm glad more didn't follow my MR vote. HOWEVER, that being said, there is a point to still be made about MR's vote.
If he was "placeholding", he didn't change it. Why not "placehold" a random vote; therefore, if he knew there was a real possibility he wouldn't make it back, he wouldn't be placing a vote on a confirmed civvie and instead COULD be placing it on a baddie?
Linki: You may have called it, but it's true. Trust me, and everyone knows how much I like to post if I have the time; when I'm not posting in a mafia game it's incredibly likely I'm busy with commitment, whether academic or personal.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Day 1]
RIP Made 1.0, welcome Made 2.0! Assuming you're a civvie anyway.
I don't really get why Made 1.0 got votes, but I guess it was D1 and there was hardly anything else going on. Frankly, I made the same mistake as him too, and only realized I was wrong upon reading through the thread just now. Given how early it is in the game, I think not fully understanding how the rupee system works is more believable of a lone civvie than a baddie, unless it seems particularly contrived.
And on the topic of accountants, I know plenty who goof off and have time, but I also know many others who keep incredibly busy, especially if they are in public accounting and we're talking January through April.
As an accounting PhD student, if I did literally every single thing to the absolute max, I would need to utilize every hour of the week and then some, so I have to juggle my time wisely. Sometimes I have more time than others. Also the lifestyle of an accountant is not the same of a PhD student.
That said, I intend to fully get into this game, but I just don't feel super engaged in it quite yet. I have a harder time getting engaged absolutely immediately in speed games in general as well, especially when I'm juggling at least one other game simultaneously.

Sorry, I literally caught up in like 5 minutes yesterday before voting because I realized I had to vote before I left for class and that I could very well miss it if I waited until afterward. I honestly didn't see MR's post and thought he had posted without voting, something I have seen him do before if I remember correctly. Additionally, I'm in the Doctor Who game (which has over 7,000 posts), a game on K-Site (which I've been unfairly neglecting in a fashion similar to my participation in this game so far), and I thought I could juggle it all better because midterm madness is over, but my workload started picking up much more than I anticipated the last few days.Russtifinko wrote:Also wanted to say: MP, what gives? Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Day 1]
Wow, what a weird day period so far. Sorry I really haven't posted to my normal levels (or am I?
). I've been distracted with PhD, Doctor Who, and other stuff.
I don't see a baddie Made doing something like that, though I really have no idea about his alignment yet. Nonetheless, I don't think Boogs is necessarily suspicious for jumping on him for lack of anything better either.
I really am not sure I've seen anything pingy to me other than MR's self-vote, which in principle bugs the SHIT out of me when civvies do it this early. I hate randomizing, but at least if you are a civvie, "randomly" voting someone else at least means you could possibly catch a baddie, right? You can't do that by voting yourself. I know he could be a civvie self-voting, as I've seen civvies and baddies do it, but to do it this early really really bothers me. So that's where I'm going.
I MAY be back before the poll's end, but I may not.

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Ganon's Conquest) [Night 0]
Don't worry, LizKeen. Day 0's (and Night 0's) typically serve a twofold purpose:
1) Introduce people to the theme and the game at hand and "ease" people into D1.
2) Reward or punishments, sometimes with information given to certain players or factions, and sometimes awarded randomly, or some other method.
So your inability to discern which option to vote for is surely shared, not because you're new.
