This one looks fun and more my speed for a first game here, so shoot me another PM on RYM whenever there's a less intimidating game open. Thanks for the invite!
Also, HBoy, I should have mentioned... there's Frisky Dingo in sign-ups if you're interested! Should be fun!

Personally, I would NOT recommend infodumping. Sometimes against the rules, sometimes not, but almost always considered bad form unless specified otherwise.

How are you liking The Syndicate so far?
Syndicate's awesome! I mean, I have an addictive personality and thrive on deduction. So mafia fits the bill, and is pretty cool online.
Also interesting seeing differences between communities and playstyles from the other site I started in (Jesus Toast Mafia) and here. It's like apples and tomatoes, I'd say.

Glad to hear it! I can relate 100% to the bolded/underlined. Lol.
I know, right? I love playing at other sites. For 4 1/2 years, I played on a few sites, but within the same general group of players, although I did introduce mafia to a bunch of newbies (at the time) around 4 years ago as well. Since the Championship game, it's been amazing to play on RYM again and check out other sites/communities. I love finding out about other sites and how they play!
I only wish I had more time for mafia. Can't complain, since RL takes up a lot of my time for good reason, but mafia is just amazing.

Re: Watchmen [SIGN UPs]
That's the original image; it's the album cover for Unrest by avant-garde progressive rock band Henry Cow.Dragon D. Luffy wrote:What about the black and white sock you use on NF?
Long Con edited it to create the rainbow-modified one I have now, since I was wanting something different, and it references my Rainbow Raider role in The Flash. It was an unconventional faction-based game that I replaced into, and knew I didn't have much time to play, and no one was listening to me, so I self-impoded and got lynched pretty quickly after my entrance. The Rainbow Raider's phrase "I believe in me!" thus was modified. :P

Oh, okay. I say changing it each game seems fun as well! I've had the Sock for SO LONG though (7 years?), so I've tried changing my avatar, but it never lasts long. Going forward, I'll likely continue changing my avatar but only while retaining the Sock in some way, shape, or form.G-Man wrote: No idea. I ran a few Google searches and it seemed fun but I've tired of it already. Not sure if I want to stick with the G-theme, go with a comic book theme, or a watch theme. I think I'll probably change my avatar every game. It's been fun to do for the most part.

Not my style.G-Man wrote:You can always just ignore most of the thread, read the last 5-10 posts, and blame one of those posters for your uninformed vote. Either that or just commit to drive-by voting for a full game?

I feel absolutely terrible enough as is when I miss one vote or can't analyze all of the thread. I'd be seriously bummed to miss the game, but I'd rather miss it than sign up and not play, since I can't stand the idea of flaking on a game.
If I do even play, I will very likely play a relatively more light-hearted, less posty game. There's no way I can play up to my most posty (Economics) and probably not even my normal posting level (Roger Rabbit) either.

Re: Watchmen [SIGN UPs]
Ahhhhh!
This HAD to be the game that went into Speed Game sign-ups right now, didn't it? This is the only one of three Speed Games in the list (the other two being Daisy's Psych Mafia and G-Man's 1, 2, 3 Numbers Lover Game) most apt to tempt me out of my "no mafia until after the honeymoon" break.
Okay, so as I said in Frisky Dingo, my schedule has really been kicking my ass, but I might actually have some time to play mafia for a week or two max in late July after some major deadlines come and pass. My window is restricted to roughly July 21st to August 1st or so, sadly, and that's only assuming I manage to completely knock out my replication by the deadline (July 20th). If I knock it out before then, then I might be able to start sooner. If I don't knock it out by then, well, I need to get it done before I leave, so I won't be able to play.
Also, the game almost has to be 24/24, since 48/24 will probably be too long of a game for me, unless I die early or the game falls right in my mafia window (even then, still would have to die somewhat early). So... is it 24/24 or 48/24?
That first week of August is pretty much the cutoff, regardless of how much I knock out my PhD workload, since I'm leaving San Antonio on the 5th and getting married on the 8th (for those of you who don't know by now, it's to the lovely Spacedaisy, and I'm a very lucky man).
So, for now, I'm "Maybe", only because this game looks freaking amazing and it's tempting me real bad.
