Player List:
Epignosis - Santiago
Hedgeowl - Horatio Hornblower
Insertnamehere - Odysseus
Kate - Captain Nemo
Mongoose - Ahab
Turnip Head - Wolf Larsen
Notice how these roles appear in the same order as they do on the role list on page one? That's because I used Random.org and rolled a 1 SIX TIMES IN A ROW! Now that's random!
Kate died because she didn't send in a PM saying she wanted to use her power, presumably because she only took a vote at the last second, and then the randomizer picked her out of the three way tie.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [THE END]
Day 3
How did this happen? It was just meant ot be a jolly three day tour (a three day tour…) out on the lovely ocean. Get some sun, catch some fish, drink some rum, sing some sea chanties… what could be nicer?
Then, this happened:

If only Captain Nemo were here with his squid repelling torpedos, they might have had a chance. As it was, the delusional insertnamehere simply launched himself at the thing, believing himself to be in possession of a personal submarine.
It did not go well for him.
“Holy Toledo!” Epignosis exclaimed, staring wide eyed as his companion disappeared in a flash of gore. He was so transfixed that he never saw the knife that got him in the back.
insertnamehere has been killed by a Giant Squid.
Epignosis has been killed by Wolf Larsen.
Turnip Head has won the game. Congratulations to him!
(If you’ve read the Sea Wolf, though, you know what a pyrrhic victory this is for him.)

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Night 2]
I have an idea for one that's not played on this site at all, but entirely on Google. The players have to figure out the rules as they go along.insertnamehere wrote: I have an idea for Mulholland Drive Mafia. It will be disguised as another game. People will sign up, roles will be sent out, etc. At the end of Night 1, really odd things will happen, and then the real game will begin. New roles, the person who was lynched Day 1 will be brought back in, chaos will ensue. I'm also considering taking on a co host who will host the first part of the game. So, imagine this dear players. Any game at any time could really be Mulholland Drive Mafia. Be ready.
Vote in the poll, INH. I have plans.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Night 2]
Let me take this opportunity to shamelessly whore myself out, my first Micro Mafia was open BTSC, which lends itself much better to the MM format imo. My next MM game is part point and click adventure game, part Saw, and part David Lynch. And there's also a game that only is BTSC. Nobody knows who is playing, they have to figure that out before they can even try to see who is bad![/quote]insertnamehere wrote: I agree INH. Perhaps if we had had more time, I would have been able to figure out that Epi was the baddie before it was too late.
My next one is going to feature no text. Just symmetrical shapes. And they will be the same color as the background. And players will only be allowed to type with their feet.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Day 2]
Night 2

The crew grew unruly, jumping up and down on the ship deck and demanding action. Even though the host was tired, they would not be appeased. Epignosis and Mongoose were thrust into the middle of the deck, and told to fight to the death. Being good little sailors, they complied. Mongoose lost, naturally, because she is a GIRL!
"Oh," said insertnamehere.
"Which way do we go now?" said Turnip Head.
"Don't ask me," said Epignosis. "I'm no navigator. And anyway, you just tried to kill me!"
Mongoose has been lynched. She was Ahab.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Day 2]
Day 2

As dawn broke over the bounding main, the group of embattled sailors was once again unable to agree on a purpose for their expedition. Just as the argument reached its highest pitch, it was interrupted by the great splash of a huge whale leaping out of the water and sending the ship rolling. Many stumbled, some fell. One man retained his footing, though, a gleam in his eye.
With nary a hesitation, Captain Ahab seized a harpoon and waited, his keen eye focused on the wake of the whale as it came around for a second pass. As it crested, he plunged the metal dart with all his strength into its flesh, and with a roar of agony, the beast turned and slunk away into the murky deep. Were it not for the brave actions of the Captain, lives would surely have been lost.
All was not completely rosy, however. In the ensuing brouhaha, Hedgeowl was found with her throat slit, crammed below decks. Sorry Hedgeowl.
Hedgeowl has been killed by Wolf Larsen. It is now Day 2. You have 24 hours to find the murderer and hang him high.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Day 1]
Night 1

Forcing Kate to walk the plank (after a brief struggle with Epoignosis and Hedgeowl) was good for a laugh, but as the sun sank slowly over the horizon, the crew realized it was time to get serious, and stop laboring under the delusion that they all got to pick individual ships.
“We’re all in this together,” Kate would have said if she were still alive.
“Not me,” said INH. “I have an imaginary submarine.”
“No you don’t” corrected Epignosis.
“Hey guys, what are we doing out here anyway?” Mongoose asked. “I mean, I appreciate a good sail as much as the next person, but what’s the dealio, yo?”
“Yeah, what’s our mandate?” was Hedgeowl’s unoriginal contribution.
Well? What is it?

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Day 1]
Day 1

Unable to agree on a ship, the group eventually settled on a clumsy chimera that resembled all, and yet none of the options under discussion, while at the same time slipping into a less unwieldy third-person narrative.
Having settled that little matter, in a trice they were off! The wind blew fair as the ship, ungainly though it was, shot out of the harbor and into the endless, rolling blue.
For a while, all was well, but ocean madness is a swift and cruel mistress, and it did not take long for paranoia and suspicion to arise among the crew.
“Who’s been stealing my potatoes?” demanded Epignosis.
“Who’s been stealing my turnips?” groused Turnip Head.
“Why would anyone want to steal a potato or a turnip,” said Hedgeowl and Mongoose in unison. “It be the bloody flesh of animals that we crave!”
It was at this point that it was decided that someone should be made to walk the plank.
You have 24 hours to lynch someone.

Re: The Sea, The Sea! [Day 0]
Day 0

The sea! The smell of the crisp salt air awakens your nostrils as you step onto the docks. Excitement is mixed with anxiety as you survey the multitude of vessels, all abuzz with activity as burly sailors load them with kegs and crates. The voyage ahead will be fraught with danger, but the adventures you are sure to have will make it all worthwhile.
The harbor master approaches, chewing a weathered pipe as he addresses your motley group.
“You’re late,” he grumbles. “You were supposed to have been aboard and underway twenty minutes ago. Other ships need the space, you know.”
Muttering a hasty apology, you glance down the docks past a long row of ships of every shape and size. Now if you could only remember, which one had you chartered?
You have 24 hours to vote.
