Although they may not have used the exact word "stupid".........It was both.Roxy wrote:Elo - no one called your theory stupid they say your theory makes you suspicious. big difference.
MR Look again } just told you it was epi and llama
I will pull quotes when I can
You can't get over it? What exactly do you mean by that? Does my theory make me bad?thellama73 wrote:I just couldn't get over her theory of the baddies killing their own. Okay. I get that everyone thinks my theory is stupid. Does it really make me bad?Bullzeye wrote:You talk a lot of sense there Made. Who are you finding most suspicious? I think I still trust Llama but I'm less sure now. I do find Elo quite suspicious for her claims that the baddies would kill one of their own.
I can't get over how often I hear Epi's voice as I read your posts Llama. It is amazing how often you will say things exactly as he would. For example, "Put on your learning hats, children."thellama73 wrote:I think that theory of the baddie kill and rezz is even crazier than Eloh's original. Why? Opportunity cost.Hedgeowl wrote:It was Elo's argument actually and one I didn't give much thought too, except like her I was shocked you were killed and thought you very likely bad. You being rezzed however gives new life to her theory however, since it suddenly would make a lot more sense for a baddie team to kill and then rezz one of their own. I still would think I was mistaken about you except your insistence that I am still bad despite evidence to the contrary that you are ignoring.thellama73 wrote:Roxy wrote: keterman/Llama will you srsly look into Elo and give me your thoughts on my case.
I do not think Hedge is bad this game though I was fooled in LOST Mafia by her. I just don't get any nose twitches from her. I will srsly go back and reread her to see if I feel the same.
My pleasure. I put a lot of stock in your opinion, and I have read her a couple of times already. So far, not much has really jumped out at me, but the sheer madness of her argument that the baddies would kill one of their own makes me think twice. I will definitely give her another look today.
I actually wouldn't vote for you probably, but you leading a lynch on me convinces me I was right all along.
Put on your learning hats, children.
Opportunity cost is what you have to give up to do something. So when you go to the store to buy bread, the cost is not only the money you spent on bread, but anything else you could have done with that time and money. For example, you might have to give up going to the movies, or sleeping in, or going out for breakfast. Whatever you give up to do something is part of its cost, even if it is not visible or obvious.
For a baddie team to kill their own member, they not only lose a member, they also lose a chance to kill a civilian. This action is therefore twice as costly as it might initially appear. Same thing with a resurrect. For a baddie team to kill one of their own with the intention of resurrecting them, they have to give up the chance to resurrect someone who was actually killed by the civvies.
This means that for this theory to work the baddie team would have had to be willing to pay:
1. the life of one of its members
2. the chance to kill an enemy
3. the chance to resurrect a friend
All in order to gain civ cred. Given that we have been doing a terrible job of finding the baddies as it is, I cannot see any way that they would engage in such foolishness.
Not a good assumption. Baddies vote for each other sometimes too. It's called distancing.Made wrote:Well then, I'm gonna guess that based on the amount of votes for DF this is a civvie lynch....
Oh, I remember all too well. I have also had baddie teammates out themselves in the thread by Day 2 for NO reason. My point....players (baddies and civvies alike) do stupid things. You never know.Epignosis wrote:She did. She had the shitty Kyle Fitzpatrick role, who plays the piano so hard he explodes.Bullzeye wrote:When have you seen baddies kill their own team members deliberately, and why did they do it? The only thing I can think of is Epig in Bioshock betraying our team but he wasn't technically on the team any more as he'd been recruited and I don't even remember if you played that.Elohcin wrote:Why would I have to ask about the baddie team if I were on the baddie team.sabie12 wrote:Well I'm off to adventures so I'm inputting my vote now. I went for Elo based on the suspicious question regarding the baddie team. Not entirely sure but this is my best guess for now. I'll be checking back later. I'm excited to see where the story goes from here.
It was just a suggestion. I have seen baddies out themselves for no reason and it never benefited anyone. I have seen baddies go after one another in lynches. I have seen baddie teams kill a member before as well. Baddies AND civvies alike do weird things. I really thought Llama was bad, this is where my thoughts were coming from, that is all. You suspect em b/c I think llama was bad, is that it?sabie12 wrote:Currently I am suspicious of Eloh and Epi. I've gone through the past posts and polls and it seems as though they might be working together, but not sure. I think it is suspicious that Eloh would try to make us think Llama was bad and that he had teammates that would kill him off when that wouldn't benefit anyone. I'd like to think I've been more active lately. Trying to get the hang of this whole deal.
She probably doesn't remember that, but I do.
Hi Alex- that was an awesome fucking game. I'm in the middle of Minerva's Den right now in Bioshock 2. Also, all five of us are planning to go as Bioshock characters for Halloween this year.
Why would I have to ask about the baddie team if I were on the baddie team.sabie12 wrote:Well I'm off to adventures so I'm inputting my vote now. Right, this confused me as well. Why would they kill llama if he is civ and has been up for lynch every day? If I were bad, I would let it play out and let him eventually get lynched. Maybe the baddies are a mix of inexperienced/non-existent players? I have other theories as well, but want to keep them to myself for now. Anyway, I am not sure who i will vote for today.Epignosis wrote:Looking back at this, bea was also a peculiar choice. It could have been argued on Day 2 that she voted Keterman to save llama:
Keterman
6
DFaraday (5), thellama73 (6), Vompatti (8), Bullzeye (9), Elohcin (10), bea (14) 43%
thellama73
5
Hedgeowl (2), Keterman (3), Boogs (4), sabie12 (7), Mister Rearranger (13) 36%I don't understand this notion that thellama73 was bad and his team used a kill on him. Both kills make little sense from a strategic perspective: bea could have been framed as saving a teammate, and thellama73 was up for every lynch that has transpired. By killing llama, the llama voters now have to find someone else to vote for, and that someone else could very well be a member of their team.Elohcin wrote:Are you saying "poorly thought out" if he were a baddies or either way, baddie or civ? If so, why was it poorly thought out if llama was civ?
Mad Hatter's crew is playing that description to the hilt. Or should I say, to the brim.
Are you saying "poorly thought out" if he were a baddies or either way, baddie or civ? If so, why was it poorly thought out if llama was civ?Epignosis wrote:Because if it was strategic, it was poorly thought out at best. At worst, it produces a riskier scenario for their team.Elohcin wrote:Random? What makes you think that the baddie team randomized their kill and had no strategy behind their kill?Epignosis wrote:Neither is killing the person most likely to be lynched next.Bullzeye wrote:It just isn't done.
I see nothing in the roles about target redirection or switching. This leads me to believe that the killing was not strategic, but instead random.

I believe it matters to all of us. If the baddie win with each other no matter what, then they can use killing llama (if he was bad) as a distancing tool. It can help us find other baddies.Bullzeye wrote:I was literally just about to ask this question when I saw you already had. I find it an odd question, the answer doesn't really matter to anyone but the baddies surely?Dom wrote:Just wondering, Elo, what is your motivation in this question?Elohcin wrote:Oh, and RIP llama. I just try to play openly and honestly. I thought my post would be helpful to the civs so I wrote it. That is all.Hedgeowl wrote:I think you are 100% right about identifying civvies if possible in thread for oneself, but as a civ usually I would keep that info to myself, unless someone was about to be lynched, as you noted about why would no one jumped to Keterman's defense when they should have. I didn't mean to come across harshly, I was excited I finally had time for mafia now that we are home too. It just seems a really odd thing to do and point out in thread for others to note. Maybe that makes you more likely civ, because baddies would do it behind the scenes, but it struck me as odd. As llama is getting accused of with Boogs, known civs are NK'd often, because they are useless for lynches for baddies. So keeping a civ btsc partner's identity secret seems like a really good idea to me.Elohcin wrote:First of all, I don't think I went on and on. Second, as a civvie with no btsc, I like to find other civies that I can trust. The only way to do this is by using what has been said in the thread. If I found someone who seemed to defend keterman, then I that player is probably one I can trust. People say, "I'm civ! I'm civ!" all the time. Does this mean they are painting a "HUGE neon sign" on themselves and saying, "kill me mafia?" No, they are trying to communicate with their fellow civs that they can be trusted. The Mafia already know who is civ. They are going to kill who they are going to kill no matter what. I think your suspicion of me for this is quite silly. I was honestly busy with schooling three children and getting as much of our lessons completed before having to leave the house at 10:20 for the older two to go to their tumbling class. I was also working on the 6 loads of laundry we dirtied up from our two-day camping trip. I honestly randomized without looking at who had already voted for who and got Keterman. OK, I am feeling pretty good about my llama vote still, and am adding Vomps, and Elo to my list of possible suspicious peeps.
