Re: Day 9 -The Syndicate Mafia

Ok.

So SVS' team will be killing tonight; I would like to eliminate that team today if possible.

I acknowledge that if we take Bass 2's hints as gospel, we can assume that these people are not bad (or at least not on an original mafia team. They could still have been recruited by Elo after Bass looked at them):
-lacey
-MM
-Cobalt
-maybe Dom, though not circumstantiated

That leaves on an original team:
-Cookie
-Epi
-llama
-Rico
-sig

Based on voting records, I don't think Cookie is on SVS' mafia team.
I'm not certain yet either way with Epi, but I'm not getting bad vibes from him as of now.
I am a camelid.
Rico has a lot to say, and will look into him more.

But I feel worse about sig on that list. I voted for him on day 3, and will do so again today.

There really isn't, not today. There is a narrow band of people who can be bad, and that does include Sig, epi, and potentially cobalt. Those three I don't get particularly bad vibes from, enough to justify a vote ahead of the other two.

Although I strongly lean llama over cookie right now.
I'd agree with that, between llama 2 and Cookie 2, I think it would a mistake to go with Cookie 2.
You're sure whistling a different tune. Cookie can't give you milk like a llama can. Not much milk, but milk nonetheless.

I have mentioned a possible redirect, and I'm not ruling that out either, but I also think golden was probably bad and died on night 2.

Timmer 2 died on night 4.

I guess an even night killer could be a serial killer, or it could be eloh/ninja's super-secret secret and her recruit(s) inhereted the kill. Either way amounts to the same for me.

As for who has been thinking about the possibility of two teams - how about just sticking with me. This is what I had to say on day 4...
Ricochet 2 wrote:I was also downright wrong. I don't think synonym is LC's teammate. I'm not going to vote synonym today, even though I think a second team is possible, but we have no evidence of it. Anyway, if anyone is on a second team, I'm looking squarely at llama and boo, both of who seemed confused about why golden would be alive when the answer seemed obvious to me (no double targetting). My immediate thought was they knew they had killed golden the night before and it wouldn't be double targetting.

When I get a moment I'll do a Rico-esque post, but I'm looking at the following in particular so far today: boo, llama, elohcin, cookie, MM. I don't agree with the points raised on BR or lacey yet so I'd have to be convinced, and don't see any reason to suspect anyone else right now.

I've been really sick - up during the night, sleeping during the day, I'm not in good shape. I'm trying to contribute as much as I can so sorry if its not as much as I would like, hopefully it passes in a day or two.
I'm not 'caught up in it', but surely you can see it makes a lot of sense of events. I'm not making an 'assumption', I am making a theory, one which I find convincing enough that you are my likeliest candidate for a vote.
Technically a theory is an assumption. More evidential than a guess, and less absolute than a fact.

As far as "sticking with you", I'm fine, thank you. You're asking me to trust you because you think boo and I had something going on. And if your thread of logic relies on me being confused as to why Golden was alive, that thread is quite thin, my boy!

If I were bad, and if I were on a team 2, and if I killed on even nights, this would mean:
-golden died on my watch, who may very well be bad.
-timmer died on my watch, who I actually wanted to remain in the game since we had a nice rapport
-SVS died on my watch, who was very bad
-Bass died on my watch, who was civ. He could have targeted the bad version of me last night, and died. Though I didn't get a kill in. That's plain odd, unless I was blocked, which I was not. Another theory in this universe is I killed him before he could target anyone. Otherwise if he hid behind a civ, he wouldn't have perished.

The only glaring piece of Intel is Bass'. I can totally see how this would make you think I am bad. But all I can offer in this frame-up is these are not the droids you are looking for.

I do think the serial killer/whoever killed SVS is someone that trusts what I have been saying. :shifty:

There appears to be nothing I can see that really connects llama to eloh/ninja either for bad or for good, including the vote that day.

The fact that llama is pretty sure SVS is bad and the next night SVS is nightkilled might be significant.

Timmer 2, worth a look, died on night 4, his iso has some posts about llama.

I feel like what has happened in this game could be very consistent with llama being the even night killer.

I would feel very ok with my vote going there.
Why are we so caught up in even and odd night killing teams anyway? Who coined that assumption? We know there is a possible team from recruitment. But how are you so sure they kill on odd nights?

You mention Timmer 2. What significance does his opinion have on me, besides just mentioning me?
If I recall, timmer agreed with my posts. What does that have to do with my guilt?

Though I can appreciate that someone is looking at my voting history, since no one else has done so afaik.

Do you agree with Dom (I think it was Dom) that there could be a serial killer?

HOWEVER, Bass has given us a gift.

A hider is a role I've had lots of times on other sites, and the instant you hide behind a baddie you die. And while you are hiding, you are safe from NK unless the person you are hiding behind is also killed, which clearly isn't what happened since it seems only Bass 2 died.

So, this right here?

"The next order of business is to resume scumhunting. I believe I've done a good job townhunting with Lacey 2, MM2, and Cobalt 2. I've been feeling better about Dom 2, also, since the Golden 2 business I stirred up. It felt like he was keeping an open mind rather than just hiding behind the wagon. I'd like to look into Llama 2 and Sig 2 in particular tomorrow. I'll personally look into Llama's posts tonight, and report my findings tomorrow afternoon. If he's hiding something, I'll find it."

tells me you LL2, MM2, Cobalt 2 and Dom 2 are civvies. And considering the last line, that he was looking into llama tonight, and specifically mentioning hiding, means one thing. llama 2 is bad. It's a slam dunk. Like, Bass 2 just dropped the mic from the grave.

votes llama. There's no way I'm changing my mind.

Epignosis 2 wrote:Okay Lipsticklacey 2 thanks for answering, depending on the night actions I would be fine with voting for cookie 2 assuming nothing major happens. Looking at last nights actions (6) then also at 2 and 4 it goes Golden (potential mafia) Timmer (civvie ninja/Vigilante) and SVS (mafia) following this pattern tonight's NK is either the third party or second mafia team who is mainly hunting mafia.

Looking at the mafia on nights 1,3,5,7 we have this breakdown Night 1 no kill, Night 3 JaggedJimmyJay 2 (civilian) night 5 (no kill again?) If this is the case our third party/mafia 2 is much more active then our mafia team. They missed two of their kills and failed to enter another before day came. This leads me to think maybe Turnip Head 2 was responsible for the kills? He was inactive and replaced Night 3, Night 3 was the only night the mafia had a kill. They were then modkilled day 6. The ability to kill is then passed down to another player they take advantage of this and end the day early to be able to use this power.

Know this is just a little theory and doesn't matter to much, but it does explain the lack of mafia kills with the timing of the replaced Turnip Head.

linki: I will keep eyeing you but am satisfied with your answers for the time. :eye:
We know the odd kill was in the hands of SVS 2/JJJ, who was active. Any other teammate is allowed to send it though, from what FS has previously said in response to a question about it.

I think that means, whichever teammate was sending it in, was probably regularly RBed. So I think our RBer is still alive, and either insanely lucky, or on top of things. I'd lean towards lucky, since I'd imagine after one failed kill, they would have a different team member send in the kill to throw off the RBer, assuming that it's based on who sends it in, and not whose power it actually is, which I cannot recall being specified.
Interesting theory

I thought Black Rock 2 was the detective she flipped people began to talk about a seemer and I already was leaning that Golden was a civilian her role in no way could make us certain Golden was bad. So that very much flipped my opinion on Black Rock and lead me to be less willing to lynch Golden. While this is a WIFOM argument why would I suddenly switch my thoughts on Black Rock after saying she was a civjust to defend one player. While I haven't played many games as mafia I'm not the type to just stick my neck out and 180 to save someone. In fact I think your whole argument is kinda weak.

Re: Night 4 -The Syndicate Mafia

Epignosis 2 wrote:The issue I'm seeing with Golden being mafia is why would they kill him? Black Rock 2 was being considered as suspicious for awhile, she was going to get lynched at some point maybe this was a set up. The other option is that if there is a vigilante then they killed Golden 2 and it wasn't the mafia. This then brings up his revival, was the a misused civ power or a mafia ability? Assuming Golden is mafia that is.
Hmm I do see what you mean. The wrinkle in the equation is the recent revival of Dom. Would mafia have 2+ stocks of revival? That would be quite OP. OP I say!

If Golden really were the tracker, this would give credence to both his and Wilgy's revival. The more likely scenario is the civ ability to revive every even day.

Black Rock's predecessor not being active on night 1 fits with my theory of mafia being mostly inactive on night 1. I question why she chose the tracker instead of the doctor to emulate. Otherwise, I must admit Golden does bring up some good points on the matter. What other job would a seemer have? Sacrificing herself to "benefit" civs when getting a little flak is a clever strategy, but also inherently lacking if her goal was to only shed light on Golden. Tracker could be that much more useful later on than just a one-time reveal.

Boo - often feels like he is jumping to conclusions on mechanics to suit a particular perspective, but the thing that stands out most for me is how much emphasis he placed on golden not being NKed night 3 when he was night 2 and it would be double targetting. Immediately this seemed to me like a slip - genuine baddie hunting while part of a second baddie team who knew they had the kill the night before and double targetting wouldn't apply. Boo, do you have any response to this?

MM - had begun to contribute, has talked only really about LC and synonym so far in the game. I still think MM has done quite a bit of hiding behind the sock and hasn't really come to the party with much more yet. Llama also pointed out a case of soft defending LC. MM, who else have you got opinions about?
I'm pretty frustrated, if I'm honest with you.

I have, continuously been told I am not participating, that I'm not doing enough, and that I'm not playing. I have posted, I have played, and NOW people are ignoring me.
So honestly, I'm pretty mad.

I'm at a point where it's hard to even care because no one takes what I have to say seriously, but the second Dom says it, it's apparently worth discussion.

So, Rico, I don't know who I suspect beyond Synonym because I'm pretty peeved. I would say Cookie is worth a looksie. I'm nto sure I understand this Golden/BR dichotomy.
Don't be discouraged, MetalMarmot! I'm listening to you, and read you as genuine and probably civ.
lipsticklacey wrote:In her next post, after being challenged on the statement, she refers back to the seemer discussion, and some vague statements about past games. I don't trust these two posts, because immediately making a challenge to a confirmed civilian that gets resurrected at this point, because there may be a seemer in the game, does not seem well thought out. If there is a seemer in the game, and the seemer is Golden 2, then that means there is a tracker in the game that Golden 2 used the identity of. Since we learn the role of anyone who is killed, with the exception of mod-kills, it would make sense to me that this is an issue we can wait and see on, since either the real tracker will be killed, and we'll need to decide if we think that person or Golden 2 is a seemer, or the real tracker will eventually speak up and make a real attempt at getting Golden 2 killed. We can wait and see on this subject. I never suggested we couldn't. There is no other way to prove there is a seemer. I doubt seriously the real tracker would speak up though as it would put a target on their head.
Black Rock's reaction immediately after Golden is rezzed:
Black Rock 2 wrote:Welcome back and congrats on your rezz Golden 2, assuming of course that you are good. I'll be gone to see about the horses part of the day tomorrow but will be back in plenty of time for discussion.
Black Rock 2 wrote:
Synonym 2 wrote:What do you mean "assuming of course that you are good" he is writeup mod-confirmed as town are you serious

BR2 slipping into my scum reads.
What do you mean he is write-up mod-confirmed as town? You mean because his role was revealed as town? Wasn't there conversation earlier in the game about there being a possible seemer in this game because it was in the host survey? Personally, I will have some doubt about any death that is a civ death because of that risk. Something I learned from past mafia playing.
These posts drip with subtle condemnation. If Black Rock were bad, she would have been planning to seem as the civ tracker since two cycles ago. And to commit Suppoku over this point would be a stretch at best. I don't buy it.

Golden is bad. :P

On top of this, Golden asking the host about the seemer functionality is a straw man argument. That the seemer may choose the role they wish to appear as does nothing to sway me.

Syn's stalwart defense to BR's doubting of Golden's golden goodness is another mark against him.

Both Golden and Syn should be thrown to the lions next. Can we make it so? :cloud9:

Overall llama looked pretty decent on my reread, but he agreed with boo's take about 'why didn't golden die' and I would expect the person behind this sock to know about double targetting. Llama, what do you think about a 2 team theory?
Y tu tambien, Rico Dos!
As far as two teams, if I've learned anything from other games currently being played on this site, it's that llama should avoid talking about "teams".
That being said, it's too early to tell if there are two baddie "teams". I'm leaning no right now, but not enough info either way. I'm not sure there being two teams changes my perspective either.

I can assure you though that Long Con is not on my team. ;)

Or are you people just intent on poking Synbalt just to get more flipping out panda posts from him?
Note how I didn't say he was civ, but was ready to appear civ? His attitude towards Long Con was niggling in my mind, and I went and looked through past mafia chats and found him explaining his philosophy of throwing his teammate under the bus in a virulent fashion. His explosion never felt civ to me, and his switch to "I told you all so!" when Long Con flipped is another tactic of distancing he is wont to do.
Your meta rationale still leaves out several other players, like "Cobalt" or "Sig", who went for "LC"'s throat, right away. I'm seeing a more natural flow in "Syn" push, by comparison. He included "LC" in his now infamous mafia-guess post (but he has labelled that as satire since), he defended first against "LC" ping on that and then started thinking that "LC" is pushing it hard.

His "I told you so" reads to me more like catharsis, after a three-Day polarizing confrontation. Three Days, man. You're in Llama's socks, he'd probably feel just as vindicated - or just plain smug - after such a flip.

What do you think about the others I mentioned, in this equation? Could "Cobalt", for instance, not have researched the same thing you did and headdive into the "Scum Con" tunnel right away, for instance?
I'm enjoying your Golden take. Do you have the most posts yet? :P

I'm not taking on sig or Cobalt as much because I'm not as confident on the identity of their puppeteers. It would be a wise assumption that at least 1 person bussed Long Con. His freak out fulfills the meta that I know to be bad Cobalt.

I'm not sure whether or not linking to past mafia chat is allowed here, but this is something Cobalt does when he is bad. I can copy and paste from that chat, but I don't want to post against the rules.
