Re: [DAY 10] Harry Potter Mafia

Even though you did sound snarky to me, I hear what you're saying about Malin commenting about the baddies. To be technical however, the Mafia could have killed Maret AND cursed Malin, am I correct? I mean, they (as a team) have more than just the kill, right? Then again, a civ role could have a curse too I am sure. I guess I'm just saying that we don't know for sure where the curse came from.

And, I still don't think your voting record for Mary clears you of being a baddie.

Re: [DAY 10] Harry Potter Mafia

Well..that was quick. I challenge you all to go back and read Sarah Good. I promise, it won't take but a minute :D

She has contributed nothing. The only Good she has done in the game is vote for Mary which is what she claims proves her civviness. So let me give you a run down of her two votes for Mary.

Her first vote for Mary was Day 1 - She gave the second vote on Mary. All baddies do a little distancing, wouldn't you agree?

Her second vote for Mary was Day 5 - She was the 19th voter overall and voted 12th (LAST) for Mary.

:eye:

What do you have to say for this Sarah?

Using yours and Jennet's behavior in the Mary lynch as a reason to justify your current behavior toward Karin is one of the reasons I don't currently trust you or your intentions. I don't think you're the same Barbara that died a few nights ago. With the exception of how you still are in agreement with Jennet on everything, this is NOT how I remember Barbara behaving or talking before her death. I think something might be going on underneath the socks.

Jennet, ideally I would like to discuss a vote for Malin again today, but I'm not totally comfortable with that idea either because she's insanified. I'm also wondering if - especially since you say you won't be around long anyways - if I should vote for you or Barbara instead.

I'd also like to hear Karin's thoughts about all of this.
Hmm. Well, I am not sure what is going on with Barbara and Jennet. It just seems odd that they would come back to life and immediately pounce on me without even catching up first, talking with us about it, or even asking me why I did this or that. I don't find any of their arguments valid at all and I have been able to refute every one of them. I really think they may have come back recruited. Maybe they are being so vocal because the baddies they joined forces with have been very quiet. Maybe Malin was right about Sarah and Anne W. Maybe they are bad and Barbara and Jennet has joined forces with them. It is all a mystery to me. I just hope players see how poor Barbara and Jennet's arguments against me are.

Sure, let's look at you.

Firstly, it is Day 9 and you only have 26 posts. That's less than 3 a day. Quiet after a few days in the game is one thing. Less than 3 posts a day for 9 days? Red flags go up. That's called coasting.

Second, you shared Mary Eastey's instant mistrust of the teachers. Like Mary, you tried to paint the teachers as baddies until the hosts confirmed they are indies.
Karin Svensdotter wrote:I think it is safest to assume that The Teachers are a separate unfriendly group with their own win conditions. I would really like to know if they have BTSC.
Karin Svensdotter wrote:
I didn't read anything about the teachers not having a kill. What makes you assume this?
Third, your voting record. You voted late for Mary Eastey, well after the point where anything could have been done to save her, so your vote falls into the "teams throwing in the towel" section.

Fourth, not only does your vote smell, but this was the only post you had ever made mentioning Mary up to that point:
Karin Svensdotter wrote:Mary's got my vote.
You never mentioned her, even in passing, and then jumped onto the bandwagon when the lynch was inevitable. In fact, a search of your posts only uncovers the word Mary three times, and two of those were in someone else's quote box in your post. You avoided talking about Mary like the plague. That post above is literally the only time you ever mentioned her, and you voted for her?!

And finally, you put an eyeball on Maret even as you admitted that she survived a Death Eater NK.

None of this, NONE OF THIS, is a civ. You are so bad it hurts.
First, I'm busy IRL. I have two full time jobs (so to speak) and in the beginning of this game I was in THREE Mafia games. Since your passing, I have contributed a lot. I am in only one Mafia game (which is what I prefer).

Second, I didn't say the teachers were baddies. I specifically said I didn't think they were "civ-friendly". I figured if they were an indy team, they most likely had their own win condition apart from the civs. And Mary?...this was the very beginning of the game AND it is a sock game. It always takes me a while to get familiar with players in a sock game. I remember other playerS questioning what the teachers were all about, but I couldn't even tell you who all they were without looking back.

Third, a late vote for Mary? Incorrect. My vote for Mary was her 7th vote. There were 11 voted still the be casted (as Alizon clearly pointed out).

Fifth, As Alizon pointed out, Mary had only six votes when I voted her. Not a bandwagon, and her death was NOT set in stone. I didn't "avoid talking about Mary like the plague". I simply DIDN'T TALK a lot at ALL!

Finally, Yes, I put an eye on Maret even though she survived a NK. Don't you think baddie teams ever target within their group for distancing purposes? Her other behavior was suspicious to me. But I believe I have said since then that she has redeemed herself in my eyes.

Re: [DAY 8] Harry Potter Mafia

Wow! Three people gone. That is not good.

Okay, I spent the afternoon reading EVERYONE individually. I wanted to wait until Night ended to post. You'll see I kept those who recently passed (RIP) b/c even though they are gone, I thought my opinion of them might still be worth something.

Merga Bien - No pings after being replaced. Merga 1 seemed to be quite busy IRL and was a low poster (doesn't make her bad :p) Merga 2 is participating nicely and seems to be a helpful, innocent civ.

Alizon Device - An assertive player - very matter of fact. Her tone is not particularly civ to me. I am leaning toward baddie or teacher.

Favorite post:
Alizon Device wrote:
That just begs the question, doesnt it? Civ behavior is baddie hunting, fine. But how one goes about the hunting varies from player to player. Some people are quiet analytics, some dominate the thread with theories. Some ppl like to make charts, others go by gut feels. Some look for "tics" in people's posts, some build cases based on the voting record. And many combinations of these.

Do civs miss votes? They do. Do civs lay low? Yep. Do civs do crazy things? Sometimes.
Do baddies miss votes? They do. Do baddies lay low? Yep. Do baddies do crazy things? Sometimes.

So according to you, there are like a dozen people displaying baddie behavior! :haha:
Sarah Good - Nothing of substance to go on.

Katharina Henot - Asks a lot of questions, contributes a little. Probably civ. Favorite quote:
Katharina Henot wrote:
also -it's a one team baddie game. They already know who is *not them.* ;)
Märet Jonsdotter - Already gave my opinion of her. Trying too hard to look civ IMO - prolly bad.

Anna Koldings - Slow to participate, but seems pretty civ...no pings.

Barbara Kollerin - Leaning towards teacher. I believe it sounds as if she may have BTSC with some of the other players she goes back and forth with in the thread. Almost like it is staged.

Malin Matsdotter - Reads civvie to me. I know many of you have been saying that either she or Alizon are bad. After reading them both, I'm leaning toward Alizon.

Alice Nutter - A lot of filler posts...nothing much of substance. Probably civ, but who can tell?

Anne Redferne - Chatty, quirky, no read on her civ/baddie status.

Margarethe Reinberg - Pings me a bit. I know there isn't much to go on as she is a very low poster. But somehting about her....I don't know. Call is a gut feeling.

Jane Southworth - Hmm...particularly hard to read IMO, but no outright pings.

Anne Whittle - Another player that is hard to read...no opinion on civie/baddie status - could be either.

How's that for contribution? :p

This was not my case against you Karin. I'm glad you've come back to play with us, but my concerns those may days ago were different. And I notice you didn't pull any of the quotes about how we had had a whole conversation, which when I'd looked your way - you'd been *so* lov posting, I'd completely forgot about. I get low posting as a strategy. I do really. But when I had a conversation with you and I forgot you were playing, I get a bit worried. Nor did you actually pull any of the comments I *actually made* about you. Rather than just bring my name up and gloss over me for saying "her argument was low poster." - Color me crazy for being worried you are the baddie flying under the radar - but it is what it is. I will ask you this - if the tables were turned and you were in my spot and I was in yours would you think anything different than what I think about you now?

During the day that the talk of low posters came up - I went back and read all the posts of the low posters. And of all the low posters - your posts at that time gave me the biggest eye raise. Again because we had a whole conversation - and I forgot you were playing. I'll look forward to seeing what you have to say now that you are talking more. :) And if you feel like looking back at what I actually said about you - and replying to any of that. I'd be more than willing to listen. :)
To be fair, I didn't have time to read back on you before the poll ended. I only had time to read Maret and use the post or yours that she quoted. I will go back and read you today. I'm sorry you forgot I was playing :/. I have felt that way about low posters before (forgot they were playing), but it doesn't necessarily make me think they are bad b/c of it. I have a very busy life with work and school and other responsibilities. I understand others may as well. Doesn't mean they are bad. But that doesn't mean they aren't bad. Therefore, I don't think you can use low posting to determine a players status. I think you have to look at other things....who they voted for, what they DO say in the thread, etc.

I still have not looked at all your posts yet, but I wanted to respond to this one first. I will be doing a LOT of reading this night period and gathering my thoughts to be ready for discussion in the Day.

Katharina, I really enjoyed your post. I forgot about your case on Karin. If we are to vote a low poster, I think that would not be a bad place to start. :)
Why?
...
What is that? "..." You talk to me about not answering. You actually SAW the questions, quoted it, and didn't answer.

And again, the "case on Karin" you say Katharina gave was only her saying I was a low poster. That is all Katharina said about me. That is not a case in my opinion.

My question to you Maret...Is it better to talk a lot/"participate" and never say anything of substance or to keep your mouth shut and talk/participate when you have something beneficial to say?

It seems to me that you are trying way too hard to look civ. :eye: And I know you survived a kill attempt by Voldie. But, couldn't that have been the mafia targeting one of their own for a kill to get them civvie cred?

I'm voting Maret.

I will take the night period to study more players :ohyeah:

linki with Maret. When I was talking about low posters, I was talking about you refering to wanting to start a lynch on ME due to my low posting. Also, you say you were in an argument with Alizon and Malin about how it is foolish to vote low posters. Then why were you okay to vote a low poster when Katharina brought it up? Karin, I and others have asked you direct questions but you haven't responded to them. When you missed one of the votes I asked you who you would have voted for but you didn't answer. It's things like that which makes me think the thread doesn't have your full attention. Also, you were originally suspected because your only on topic posts were talking about the professors, so it's not like people didn't mention their reasons for suspecting you. What do you think of Alizon and Malin? Do you have any suspects besides them?
Well..I am a very busy witch indeed. There were a couple days there that I lost track of the thread when I was working a lot and focusing on school too. But things have slowed down a bit and I am trying to participate more. Sorry if I missed some of your questions.

I believe Alizon may be a baddie or a teacher. Either way, I don't think she is civ friendly. I think Malin is alright. She seems like she is trying to participate, but her "cases" aren't too strong. I know she said her case on Sarah Good wasn't a case, just something she noticed or whatever. I try not to put forth any cases unless I am quite they could lead to a baddie lynch. I kind of suspect Maret and it isn't specifically b/c she suspects me. Its really b/c she seems to be going on about low posters and I kind of think that is a cop-out. She talks about suspicions I don't see much substance.

Okay, I just found out class is canceled this evening (icy roads and such). So, I am going to stop studying and make a point to read some people and report back my thoughts when I vote.

I know I don't post a lot, but that doesn't mean I do not keep up in the thread. The votes I have missed have been because of work. When the time ends during the 5:00 hour, I either have to vote really early or possibly miss the vote. You say you and others have been discussing me for a few days. From others, there has not been a lot of discussion about me other than "Karin doesn't post a lot or explain her votes." From you, all I have gotten is, "I'm suspicious of Karin." You have not given ANY reasons for this suspicion.

As for why I was not modkilled, I am not sure. I would have to go through those that were modkilled to see how many votes they have missed. Maybe they missed more than me. If the teachers have already developed BTSC, that was quick. It's only day 2.

I didn't read anything about the teachers not having a kill. What makes you assume this?

Sounds like you WANT to be lynched which gives me pause. And all these votes that are coming in for you makes me uneasy. What reasons made you think you would not be alive long?

Linki with Anne. I am with you. *voting Krystyna*

Re: [DAY 2] Harry Potter Mafia

I think it is safest to assume that The Teachers are a separate unfriendly group with their own win conditions. I would really like to know if they have BTSC.
