Return to “AMERICAN GODS~ Day 10”
When else have I been up or come close to being lynched? Because this is the first time in this game I remember it happening.Aphrodite wrote:Every time Pluto is up for lynch someone else dies although this time with some kick ass results!
BIH Mr Town
I would be willing to look at either Mars or Zeus today as well. Mars has been discussed plenty as it is, so I don't have much to add to him. I feel like Zeus was a bit too eager to latch onto the case against me. And I believe he even did so before Eros did. I questioned him about it but the most I remember him saying is that he'd want to get no more than himself and two other people to vote for me, which I thought was somewhat odd. But out of everyone who has voted or expressed interest in voting for me, I feel like he gave the weakest reason for going after me.Chronos wrote:Pluto, do you have any other suspicions but Pheonix?
Hmmmmm....so much for that one then.Apollo wrote:Good luck with that.Pluto wrote:In fact, I'm going to go ahead and put my vote on Phoenix for now because I feel confident enough about him. I may change it later if something comes up to change my mind, but I feel that's one less baddie we could be dealing with.
I had to go back and re-read it. The only part I remembered was Eros saying he thought it was suspicious that I "doubted" him. This is the rest of what I could find.Aphrodite wrote:Did you read the discussion during this past lynch? If yes then you already know why people voted for you. If not start by reading Eros case about you. There were several made inre to you. Very compelling stuff imo.Pluto wrote:Had absolutely no time to check in and vote at all today. Really sorry about that. RIP Eros.I'm sorry I doubted you at times. Probably would have voted Phoenix again today.
I would like to hear more from those who voted for me about why I'm so suspicious? Because either there isn't much of a case on me or I missed something somewhere. Quotes would be nice as well.
Yes, my voting record has been incredibly poor. I don't see how a terrible voting record alone is enough to make me a baddie. I've been an (at times) very confused civvie in this game. But I feel more certain now. And speaking of which...Eros wrote:Back and forth, you say?Pluto wrote: I've doubted you because you've made me go back and forth on you several times this game. And when you say you've "demonstrated your goodness", what are you referring to?![]()
The only people you have helped lynch have been civilians. Naughty, naughty.
Not a save. I was unsure about Pandora (still am) and far more sure about Phoenix (still am). Pandora was at least willing to defend against her accusations. Phoenix has completely brushed them off with statements like "I am a civvie." Deflecting accusations instead of addressing them is the mark of a baddie to me.Eros wrote:I also want to point out that on Day 6, Pluto voted for Phoenix sixth, after Pandora had three votes, and then it got tied up. Pandora's teammate hoping for a save? Entirely possible.
I've doubted you because you've made me go back and forth on you several times this game. And when you say you've "demonstrated your goodness", what are you referring to?Eros wrote:I wouldn't mind a Pluto lynch.Pluto wrote:RIP Medusa and Chronos. I wasn't 100% sure on either of you. I was leaning civvie on Medusa and have no idea on Chronos.
Aphrodite, why do you think Eros has never been suspicious of Apollo? Because I was under the impression that Eros was initially early on in the game.
I've demonstrated my goodness, and you doubted it.Pluto wrote:Glad to see Eros has given plenty of thought and time into his early vote. I might have to re-read him today. Because he's starting to give me the willies at times.
I don't seem to be on the poll today. So thank you Mr. Ibis for that!
Well if I was suspicious of anyone else at the time, I probably would have mentioned more names. That's usually how that works. :PMedusa wrote:Pluto, who are you suspicious of? Besides who you just said? I'm not sure if I trust you, but I'm not sure if I don't.
I was going to mention this as my reasoning too.Chronos wrote:^_^ yay
*votes enchanted high way because it reminds me of rainbow road*
Not sure. I would assume it's a mix however. Do you see another possibility as to how my name is off the poll though? Because that's the only explanation I can see. Outside of secrets of course.Vesta wrote:Do we believe everything WJ tells us is true, false, or a mix? Previous information he provided is contrary to your theory on Prometheus. If everything he tells us is true, then it would have to be someone else. if not thenPluto wrote:Perhaps we ended up lynching Communication that night then? Because he's the one who I would guess fulfills that role.
Communication: Can wear the guise of another player *secret*
So perhaps on the night Mr. Ibis died, that means that Communication died. Which would make that part of Wisakedjak's note true. Because otherwise I don't see another way my name is removed from the poll.

I might be for this. Depends on if you're a part of it, hot stuff.Eros wrote:Feels like a Mexican standoff, doesn't it?
Except I can just cause an orgy.
If you were unable to stick around, I could understand that. But to vote hastily like that, and then continue to post? Why not see how the lynch starts to shape out a bit more?Hercules wrote:There's less than an hour to go. Boatload or no, that's not much time.
So you'll forgive me if I view it as a bit more than you just saying "I don't know".Eros wrote:Beg your pardon, but are your own leads so dead that you must worry about mine when I have said I don't know?Pluto wrote:Are you suspicious of anyone or looking at anyone at least? I used that phrase because I feel like you've had a smartass attitude with me. This might make me sound like a grouchy old man, but I like to try and treat other players with respect. And I expect others to do the same. What you did was cock an attitude and try to avoid answering my questions.Eros wrote:Is that so?Pluto wrote: My statement about Fortuna wasn't even about you. It was about why I would be considering a vote for Fortuna. You seem awfully quick to jump down my throat about most of the statements I've been making lately.
You and I have had three exchanges.
If two of these three things:
1) Calling you Dr. Phil,
2) Requesting that you form your own opinions when you asked me to "throw out a few names," or
3) Being humorous by stating the obvious
are "jumping down [your] throat," then I suppose your statement is correct.
For me, the best way to prove it is to discuss how you feel about other people playing the game. Getting as many thoughts out there as possible from as many people as possible gives us more information. Had you explained earlier that you were often busy and offered up something other than "I'm a civvie. See? Others are saying the same thing!", then I would be more inclined to believe you. Alas, at this point, I feel like you're trying to throw this out as a last-minute defense.Fortuna wrote:I did mean BTSC. And, you are right, I could have gone to the roles to try to figure out how I was saved from the lynch after I found out. But, I didn't. I had so much going on at the time. With my job I'm usually crazy busy a few days out of the week. Anyway, I know you don't like the whole "I'm civvie" defense, but I don't know how to prove it to you.Laura wrote:Baddies defend civvies all the time. Baddies even defend other baddies sometimes. Since the possibility of a seemer role coming up, I can't help but wonder if that's what you're setting up.
I find Fortuna the most suspicious. In addition to what's been said recently, I noticed this in one of her posts (http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 248#p39248):
This sounds too much like she's trying to sound like a civvie. And, actually, the civvies are a team. And, in fact, there are 3 civs who have BTSC, if that's what she meant.Fortuna wrote:First of all, I was unaware any civvies had teammates. I want a teammate! Second, this post below is what made me put my eye on you.]Medusa wrote:Fortuna, if you are suspicious of me, I hope you will make a case on me. You, not your teammates.
This is also the post right after the one where she suddenly realizes that she had the most votes in the last lynch and had apparently been saved. You'd think that after seeing that, she'd go to the roles to see who might have saved her. And it happens that the lynch switch and lynch save belong to the civvie group with BTSC.
All of this just isn't adding up for me.
And I'm not really seeing the suspicion of Athena. And Apollo's case that Poseiden could be Hinzelman based on being MIA is too circumstantial for my taste.

Baddies can defend civvies. I've seen it happen before. I've also seen baddies cleverly avoid managing to get lynched after taking civvies down. Nothing is impossible in mafia.Eros wrote:You know, you're absolutely right.Pluto wrote: As for Fortuna, all of the "Since X is defending me, that means they are civvie" posts do not sit well with me. At all.
I could be a rotten apple defending a good apple so that, in the case of my lynch, I take down the good apple in my wake.
Or, in the case of the good apple's lynch, it validates what I had been saying all along. Anyone ever consider that possibility?
I am often accused of knowing nothing of strategy, but honey, love is a battlefield.
I've already mentioned that I'm fairly lost as it is. I'm trying to get an idea of where to vote tomorrow, because if I had to vote now, I would have no clue where to go. Is it really that difficult to throw out a few names of people you are either looking at and/or think are good? Or do you prefer being a smartass about it and giving me a mouthy response? All I'm doing is asking a question and hoping to get some kind of answer out of it.Eros wrote:Beg your pardon, but are your own leads so dead that you must worry about mine when I have said I don't know?Pluto wrote:Are you suspicious of anyone or looking at anyone at least? That's it? I upgraded to tentacle rape awhile back and it's never been better! They might want to get on the ball with that.Eros wrote:Thanks, Dr. Phil.Pluto wrote: Eros seems very unsure of himself now, from what I can gleam.
I am quite sure of those I love. I am less sure of those I hate. I was never good at doing the latter, you understand? I occasionally get couples to hit each other, but it's usually with whips. Of course, there was that one couple who was into fish.![]()
I don't like the thought of someone already wanting to go after someone for being a non-participant or low poster. I think there are other, more valid reasons to vote for Fortuna. Sounds like you're just trying to latch onto an easy case to me.Medusa wrote:I will probably vote Fortuna today. She is not defending, she is not contributing, and I'm unsure about Athena. I wouldn't vote Artemis even if she had not been pranked today, because I don't see a real case on her.
I am going to reread a few players, like the 2 who said they were suspicious of Persephone but didn't bother to explain why.
Okay. Thanks for responding then. I will read back on Fortuna when I get a chance.Apollo wrote:The other suspect I am looking at today is Fortuna, because Persephone pointed out that she was saying "yes, I agree" a lot without contributing anything new, which is something baddies do a lot. Who are you looking at? I realize you were ketchup-bot-ified for a day, but I feel like you've been chatty without really advancing any theories of who might be bad?

Could someone explain a bit more about the suspicion towards Apollo? I get the Poseidon case, even though I don't agree with it fully. But I would like to hear more on it from other players. Especially Apollo in particular if he hasn't gone into details yet. Meanwhile I will go back and try to look for what started it.Ceres wrote:Some thoughts on this whole Arte vs. Athena business:
1. First thing that went thru my mind was: well played! Someone's trying to kill two birds with one stone. Except they missed at least one. Naturally, with Athena a target for NK-ing everyone would turn their heads towards Arte, who fortunately for them, is part of today's insanity fest, faking or not, and can't defend herself. I'll use the 'too stupid and too irresponsible for a baddie' argument again. But maybe that was exactly the point.
For me, Artemis being insanified tells me one of two things: Either someone is trying to protect her from a "mistake" she made i.e. a baddie teammate did it or someone is trying to frame her. Whether I pursue that or not depends on what her responses are once she can post normally
2. Then another thing went thru my godly head: Arte survived a lynching. How?
Again, another thing I look forward to hearing from her. If she doesn't know why though, I would lean towards some players having secret/extra votes
3. And another: so Athena is not part of the New Gods gang, but does this make her a civ? Not necessarily: there's still the Spooky people and a nice SK.
4. Another: I've played some games and since this one has a truckload of secrets, how do we know that this isn't a setup and Athena is not part of the New Gods?
I think this is one of those games where the hosts (or rather, hostesses) are going to ultimately force us to make a decision based on whatever evidence we have at hand. Hence the boatload of secrets. And I tend to wait until the last possible minute to make certain decisions in mafia, so that works perfectly fine for me.
5. I HAVE NO FREAKIN IDEA! I suspect them just as much as I did before this.
6. Not related to AvA, my gut feeling still tells me to look at both Apollo and Poseidon.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if she'll be able to tell us. She appears to be cursed or is under some kind of posting challenge/restriction.Apollo wrote:Artemis, I have to admit, the evidence against you is not inconsiderable. What say you in your defense?
