Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
Here's the thing, I know him better. And I don't 100% believe he is a civ, but I don't believe you are either. And I know him better, I have a much harder time thinking this is him. And I have a really hard time hearing his posts as anything other than sincere. If he has fooled me, well... I guess he's deserved it, but I don't think he is. I think it's pretty clear to you both I am a civ. And the fact you are playing to both of us tells me you are hedging your bets. I'm voting Bravo.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
Well... meeeeehhhhhh. I just have to decide. I have been back and forth. One minute I feel like I can see one person as more likely to kill Alpha and the next I can see the other. I had told myself before the end of the last night that if I remained alive come dawn, then the last baddie must be Hotel. Because I was his only shot at staying alive. But I fully expected either myself or Bravo to die. I did not anticipate Alpha's death whatsoever. And it has sent me into a spiral of doubt. But I am going to ignore the fat it was Bravo and focus on the fact that it wasn't me. Given that, I'm going with my gut about the fact that my remaining alive implicated Hotel.
And if I am wrong, I'm so very sorry civs.
I'm voting Hotel.

No I'm moving back.
There seems more plausible explanation for Bravo to kill Alpha than Hotel. I don't see Golf going for the more difficult path, which is what this would be.
I'm voting Bravo.
Oh my god sprityo this end game is too stressful!

I realize that there's no hard evidence for this now, but it's the truth. I'm putting it all out here to maximize the information we have. I can explain every protection target if needed.

Alpha on the other hand, came in with an ambivalent approach. Agreeing with India, yet being wishy-washy to the rhymes. Not cool! Additionally, Alpha was chilling around, laying other posts on the thread after my above-quoted track, with no response to yours truly. Bad jazz for you Alpha-friend.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
Ok, So I pretty much said the following:
I trusted Bravo the most
I varied between slight town read and slight baddie read of Hotel
I trusted Alpha the least
Why would Hotel kill Alpha and leave himself stuck in the game with me and the person I trusted the most? How would he benefit from this?
Same question regarding Bravo, why would he kill Alpha who I suspected the most knowing I trust himself the most and would easily vote alongside him for Alpha? How would it benefit him?

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
It fits it perfectly actually, I have been more suspicious of Alpha than of Hotel since the beginning of the last Lynch. I won't deny suspecting Hotel as well, but why would he leave the only person in the game that I have expressed universal trust in?Bravo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 2:09 amI don't think this conclusion fits the progression of this game thread. Hotel kills me and is left with you and Alpha. You expressed suspicion of Alpha and Hotel as recently as the most recent day, so there's no "cruising" to be had there. I don't like that you're instantly discounting this possibility.
I asked you recently why you had those strong civilian reads on me and you did not answer me. They were unexplained and stuck into posts almost for the sake of it, and now you're here reversing that read at the very start of a LyLo phase with the other living player being the same guy that hounded my ass just one phase ago. The opportunism is visible.Golf wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 12:52 amBut Bravo could have thought since I was so certain he was civ, to kill Alpha he could convince me of it being Hotel. I'm voting Bravo, but I am certainly open to hearing things from both of you.
As far as why I trust you, it was your actions. You were expressing reads, looking over interactions, looking at things very analytically. I am probably a victim of being the kind of person who trusts people who see things the same way as her, I can't deny that. I would say it's probably a combination of all of the above. I can't point at one thing in particular because it has been the overall feel of your whole game play.
I just can't get past this Alpha NK. Why Alpha? Why not me? I would make more sense than Alpha.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
Oh also, to answer your comments regarding TMI, you are looking at them all wrong.
You first assumed something was up with me thinking it might be Wilgy. The reason why I thought that was straight forward. I jsut came out of playing a game with Wilgy where his play style was so normal for him it weirded me out. So it was forefront on my mind that normal Wilgy is probably bad Wilgy, and weird/jokey/schtick Wilgy is more likely civ. And I thought it was Wilgy, because he has been the most likely player to go to a schtick lately and also the raps made mention of Dr. J. I thought, that's weird why would Wilgy tell us who was behind his sock. Then I thought he wouldn't, this might be someone trying to LOOK like Wilgy. Why would they do that? Oh, because schticky Wilgy is usually civ. It looked suspicious to me. Juliet then explained the Dr. J thing was a play on Dr. Dre. I don't do rap, I didn't catch it. And she denied being Wilgy, so clearly she wasn't trying to look like Wilgy. Soooo... I dropped that.
Later Echo brought it up in a post with no mention of who said it or even quoting it. I just found it mildly annoying since it was incorrectly quoting the situation until you brought it back up (still without knowing who said it because you hadn't researched it yet). I was the one who volunteered that it was me and cleared up what I meant when I said it originally and that I dropped it. But you pointing out the fact he hadn't mentioned who said it made me wonder, why did he go about it that way? That was when I realized it was probably a tie between Juliet and Echo, for the reasons mentioned. See, I was on a team with someone once who did something similar. We had a teammate stuck in BTSC with a civ who told her something. She passed it on to us in our baddie BTSC. One of my teammates then mentioned it in thread because he forgot that it came up in our Baddie BTSC, not in the thread. It immediately outed half our team to that civ. Seeing how Echo commented on that looked exactly the same as the situation I just mentioned. It wasn't TMI, it was recognizing the red flags.
And that was why I came back around to Juliet. I truly am civ. If you are truly civ Bravo, lynching me will lose the game for us.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
No I have changed my mind. Bravo. It must be Bravo. I would have bet my life it was Alpha after the game didn't end. The only way Hotel would have kept me alive was if he killed Bravo. He could have easily cruised to victory if he had killed Bravo.
But Bravo could have thought since I was so certain he was civ, to kill Alpha he could convince me of it being Hotel. This was a mistake, though. He should have killed either me or Hotel.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 5]
Well... the baddie has done well in surprising me. I thought for sure it was Alpha.
I meant to come in just before the deadline and share my thoughts on what various kills would likely indicate, but I didn't because I was picking my sister up from the airport and forgot once she got here.
I would have bet money on my being killed. Because I believed it was Alpha and that is the most logical kill choice for a baddie Alpha.
Bravo seemed to indicate Hotel was his next choice after Delta, so to kill me makes the most sense if Alpha had been bad. He wasn't so this situation is irrelevant.
I believed that me being alive would indicate Hotel is bad. I'm his most likely shot to convince of anything because I've been the most inclined to give him the botd because I believed him to be civ. However, killing alpha doesn't make sense for Hotel since I have openly indicated that Bravo is my strongest town read. If he was bad, why would he not kill Bravo and cruise to victory knowing I have been very suspicious of Alpha for some time due to his actions in the last lynch? The Alpha kill does not support Hotel being the baddie here. Unless he believed he could convince Bravo I am bad.
I didn't see any reason why any of you would kill Hotel, so I doubted that would even happen.
So that brings me to Bravo, who would be Bravo's most logical kill? I didn't know in that case, and didn't expect it to even be an issue, but here I am now faced with answering that question. I believed the most likely kill for Hotel would be Bravo, but that didn't happen. I have been pretty up front about the fact that Hotel is my next suspect after Alpha. And in my belief that Bravo is civ. I could see a scenario where the baddie is either of you now!
I hate you both. I am leaning Hotel at the moment. But I feel far from confident atm...

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 4]
My current thoughts:
I didn't like the way Hotel went hard after Bravo, it felt like scum trying to cast as much shade around as possible. Franky it made me pause, and in combination with feeling like for a while there Alpha may have actually been just a tinfoil townie it kind of made me feel way more wary of him. But now Alpha is trending back towards this let's lynch Golf or Hotel thing. Which I really hate because lynching any civ other than Delta will likely make this game a civ loss. There is a chance Hotel is bad, but I am not bad. Lynching me will net the civs a loss.
I am assuming your focus on a pair of active baddies is the caution you have been discussing, Alpha. However, I am still of the opinion that if there are two living baddies (which is absolutely possible) it is most likely that Delta is one of them.
I just cannot in anyway imagine Bravo being bad, and from the way you and Hotel have behaved I don't see you as teammates either. Your only risk here is basically me and Hotel but I am not bad. And again, if you look at all the possibilities the greatest risk is in leaving Delta alive. There is only one circumstance in which lynching Delta ends the game and I am 100% confident it's not the case.
I'm clearly not moving my vote.
As for tomorrow, if Delta's lynch doesn't end the game I am looking equally at Hotel or Alpha right now. This is based totally upon today's actions/conversations.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 4]
I have not said I 100% feel like Hotel is town. I have said that by the numbers the right lynch today is Delta.Alpha wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 12:34 am 2 currently living and active mafia members is the worst case scenario and lynching Delta is the number one way to not be prepared for it.
It feels really sketchy that Golf and Hotel seem to be so against considering that the other might be mafia at such a crucial time in the game.
I haven't said it was dependent at all. In fact I have said repeatedly that my first line of thought (because I want to trust you here, I really do) is that Delta is the last baddie. But I find the fact you are pushing a lynch of an unknown active over an unknown inactive. The risk in the first is one scenario, whereas the risk in the second is like two or three times as much, just going by how many scenarios lead to end game for us if we lynch anyone other than him. That is what makes me suspicious of you. I know my role, I know that I'm not bad. I think it's highly unlikely Bravo is bad. I used to think that if you too until your recent push. I don't think Hotel is bad but I'm not 100% confident in that. But I highly doubt he's on a team with you so I am left with Delta being the absolute right choice. He's either lone baddie or he has a deep wolf teammate. Before today I would have said Hotel, your actions this day phase make me really question you now though.
And my problem with you right now is you are pushing a very illogical and risky lynch. I know you don't know my role if you are civ, but I do and that is why I am sure of this fact. And if you are the deep wolf you've got to paint Hotel and I as bad because you might have to convince Bravo or the other one of us that it's the other person. So I am I the same place you are. I really want to believe you are tinfoiling but you are making it really hard.Alpha wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 3:33 amI guess my problem with this is exactly that. If you and Hotel are mafia then you'd want to push exactly this narrative, because if neither of you (in that circumstance) gets lynched today then this game is yours. The alternative to lynching Delta would be convincing Bravo or me to vote for the other, which would be significantly harder so.... Delta. Right? In the scenario where you and Hotel are the last living mafias, I believe that would be the best move, or at least it's what I would do.golf wrote:The absolute only risk here is if two people are bad and neither one is Delta, I just really don't see that as likely no matter how I dice it. Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 4]
I'm not disagreeing that there might be two left, I'm saying I look at all the players and I think that while I could be wrong about one I highly doubt I'm that far off about two which is why I think if there are two it's highly likely that Delta is one. If I am wrong then it means that either Bravo or Hotel have me fooled.Alpha wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 1:07 amI want to be clear, avoiding this exact scenario is my #1 priority for today. I haven't been talking about Juliet, we have no info on her so discussing her is irrelevant. I am looking at the people in the game right now and assessing them by their actions.
I can tell you why I have Hotel as a slightly town lean, but you won't like it. I believe I know who it is and I'm pretty confident (though not 100%) that this is their town game. It is a fairly nebulous response, it won't make you feel any better about us as possible teammates. But I am not bad. So in light of that fact, I reiterate that our truly safest route today is lynching Delta. The absolute only risk here is if two people are bad and neither one is Delta, I just really don't see that as likely no matter how I dice it. Actions do not support that theory.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 4]
The only way that voting Delta would be the end of the gave is if there are two mafia still living and Delta isn't one of them. And I know I'm civ. I believe strongly that Bravo is civ and to a lesser extent Hotel. Until you started pushing this plan to vote someone other than Delta, I would have trusted you more than Hotel but you leap frogged past him. I am of the belief that either Delta is a lone baddie, Delta is a baddie with an active teammate, or Delta is civ and there is one living active baddie. I think it is unlikely there are two baddies and neither one is Delta. If that is the case we are screwed, because someone has fooled me extremely well and frankly they would deserve a win. I don't think it's the case though. You are trying too hard to push us a certain direction. Either Delta is a lone baddie and you are tinfoiling, which to be clear is my first line of thought, or you or to a lesser extent possibly Hotel are Delta's teammate.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 4]
They were my posts from the wrong account. One was just saying I have some pretty serious concerns I wanted to get out there before the votes start coming in and telling you what my plans were so when I would be back to get them into the thread. And the second was :sighs: because I realized I posted from the wrong account.
Ok, here is my problem with trying to lynch someone we believe might be a baddie teammate with Delta.
1. Five players left.
2. At least one baddie, maybe 2.
3. Max 4 civs, possibly only 3.
Let's say Delta is bad and has a deep wolf teammate. What happens if we lynch the wrong person?
1. 4 players left
2. 2 baddies and 2 civs.
3. They kill one during night, bringing it down to 2 to 1. Game over.
Let's say Delta is civ and there is a deep wolf. What happens if we lynch the wrong person?
1. 4 players left
2. 1 baddie and 2 civs.
3. DELTA IS INACTIVE, so we should assume he won't vote! That brings it down to 1 baddie vote and 1 civ vote.
4. Deep wolf has set up a perfect mislynch of Delta, game over.
Let's say Delta is baddie and has no teammates alive. What happens if we vote the wrong person?
I won't go through the step by step here, basically best case scenario is we see no kill and so we go ahead and lynch Delta. Worst case is Delta comes in and submits some kind of kill or other and we are in the same position tomorrow as today, wondering if we should lynch an active player because we must have gotten the wrong one yesterday.
Let's say Delta is civ and we lynch him today. What happens?
1. 4 players left
2. 1 baddie, 3 civs (all active)
3. Baddie kills someone (giving us some kind of information to go on)
4. We go into the next day phase with 1 baddie vs. 2 civs (both active)
Our absolute best and I believe only option here is to vote Delta. We can't risk the first two scenarios by leaving a likely inactive player in the game.
Frankly Alpha, I am concerned by the fact you are pushing this plan to vote someone other than Delta. I am inclined to think Delta is our last baddie, but if I am wrong I'm looking at you for deep wolf.

No, my day 1 vote went to Kilo.
Also I am unsure what you mean about Foxtrot? That post was about how Foxtrot handled India I thought. By the time that was going on Foxtrot had backed off me and had tried to convince me to vote India with him. Unless I'm getting mixed up.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Night 2]
I doubt I will be the one to die tonight, because I haven't done any hunting in the last cycle at all so I'm not a threat and I have drawn some attention. But if I do die, I think I would also say, lynch Juliet. I'm thinking the reason it might have come up in BTSC was because it was about one of them.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Night 2]
Ok, I read over the last four pages to make sure I understood everything that occurred since Echo's death.
Bravo you commented on Echo's post about this crap about Juliet being Wilgy. It was me that posted, but it was not what I actually said. What I had originally said was that Juliet's posts in rap gave my the impression of Juliet possibly being Wilgy. And if it was true it would make me inclined to see Juliet as more town, because the behavior in my mind was more in line with how a town Wilgy would act. But if it were not Wilgy it would make me feel like someone was trying to look like a town leaning Wilgy. Juliet came in and clarified some of what made me think all this and it is no longer relevant. I've dismissed that line of thought as a result.
So it was me he was talking about. I assume he didn't say anything about me specifically because he didn't remember who said it. However, that would make me feel like they may have discussed it in BTSC. Otherwise he would have commented on it when he first read it, if it stood out to him. Which makes me wonder why that might be the case.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 2]
Cool. I am indeed here to play mafia, so I am in nothing but agreement with you. I apologize for getting frustrated about it.Alpha wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:08 pmI haven't gone on and on about anything. Juliet was the one who brought it back up, and I needed to clarify things because they were acting like I was making things up.
I've been personally done with the subject since the end of day 1. I brought it up in the first place because I didn't feel like the negativity had any purpose other than to make sprityo feel bad. I probably went a little over the top with hyperbole calling the behavior "whining", and I'm sorry for that, but it seemed like the thread was going down a bad path and I wasn't okay with that. I didn't like that players were saying they weren't going to care about the game or take it seriously because there weren't any flips. I also didn't like that it seemed to be bothering sprityo.
I actually just.... don't really care about this topic, if you're here to play mafia then let's play mafia.
Now I'm going to eat lunch and I will try to look over everything in the thread again in light of recent events. Also, sorry I am a little discombobulated from my absence.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 2]
I'm sorry if you think I was being whiny, I've had discussions with Sprityo behind the scenes and made it clear to him that while my opinion is this is a severely civ handicapping element, I vote for flips but would defer to him if he felt like doing so would break his game. I don't appreciate you going on and on about how awful I and others are for saying outright what we see as a balance issue. I am entitled to my opinion and I have been nothing but supportive of whatever Sprityo believes is best for his game while still being honest about my evaluation of the balance. Clearly others think like you and I am fine with it, but I would appreciate if you would move on from continuing to make it a personal attack on me and any one else who stated what they believed to be a problematic mechanic. I am not a whiner and I don't appreciate you continuing to call me names basically. Stop it, or we can take it to the mod.
I apologize to the players and host for my recent absence in the last 48 hours, I have been extremely busy and not getting enough sleep. I just didn't have the time. But I am back now. Please don't take this personally Sprityo and bear with us, this is the holiday season and it might be hard to be as active as normal.
Where are we at here? Are we actually still in Day 2? If so, I'm self voting.

Re: Phenon: Origins Mafia [Day 1]
That is a weird question to ask. You know if you are scum or not, just like I know I am not scum. And if there are not flips, what impact does that question have? Unless it makes a difference for how you vote as far as whether or not to be in favor of flips. Why does this question even matter, what is your angle?

So you would not find it suspicious if Kilo had voted for you because he was "not leaving it up to chance" but then turned around and questioned the sincerity and reasoning of someone else voting for you, but left his vote parked on you even so? That was what led me to vote Kilo.

India's interaction with you G was completely disgenuine. India's reaction to me calling that disgenuine was also disgenuine and did not stem from a positive Civ mindset.

Also, why would I distance from teammates like that if there are no flips? This is what I was trying to decide about Kilo...
