True. In addition it would be nice if everyone who can post would post, so that we would know that whoever does not post is either the Air King or a baddie pretending to be the Air King.
There is also the possibility that the Air King missed his/her PM right? Maybe it would be safer not to make assumptions unless someone knows for sure.

This was the explanation for your water vote. It wasn't really an explanation is all I was saying, therefore I believe you when you say you don't remember. However, it still makes question whether your civ. I hope however todays lynch goes we find a baddie, but with so few votes, I wonder if this lynch will be baddie dominated.
I agree it's an awful explanation and if you said that to me I'd think you were hiding something but honestly it's the truth. I haven't put huge amounts of consideration into the map polls, usually voting for options that didn't have any votes or were definitely not going to win.

After reviewing the voting chart I have I do find it strange that svs, lt, and roxy seem to be voting together. However i could be wrong, but I am alittle worried we are being railroaded in this direction by russti. I will wait to see how the voting goes, because while i'd like to vote Bullz, I may vote MP if the vote is turning against someone I think is most likely civ.
Isn't that the 'strange' water vote that I already addressed shortly after I did it? I think I've only voted water once and I was questioned about it and then explained why I did it. I can't even remember off the top of my head but I did have a reason. I'm gonna *vote SVS* because nothing has really come up to change my mind and I still think her reasons for voting Elo are suspicious.

I cant really say if shes being framed by Russti yet, but I think looking at SVS voters : bullz, vomps, russti, and mongoose os a really good idea. As i have said before I think vomps is civ based on his tanooki suit claim and removal from lynch poll. i am less certain that mongoose is, but with her pwing claim and removal from the poll I also consider it more likely. I really have no idea where your suspicion of me is coming from. I responded to your initial points on me but I didn't even think they were strong enough to warrant a vote. As Mongoose has said, there are so many different explanations for the reason Elo died so jumping to any particular conclusion would be a terrible idea. You seem like you think that because I've never bought or claimed to have bought anything I'm bad. I bought a mushroom a few days back (I thought you could use them whenever you liked rather than instantly :( ) and that's basically been the only thing I've been able to afford, at my richest I had just over 20 coins and I'll probably never be able to afford a suit so I don't think it'd exactly be fair to punish me for not having as many coins as others.
You're right, I completely forgot about your response post and will get to it. If you didn't have coins why didnt you partipate in the game with Mongoose, Vomps, and me? :) Also, dont count yourself out for suits. I got the Hammer suit by bidding all my meager coins and no one else had bid higher surprisingly. It was less than a mushroom. :D

 I am not trying to single you out personally, so I will go out and reexamine your responses.
I didn't play the freezing game because the mechanics were too complicated for me. I didn't like the idea of being unfrozen and posting only to find out through linki that I'd been frozen again and having to wait ages to make a post which would probably need more adding to it and thought I'd be better off just not bothering.

On second thought the longer we leave it the more time the baddies have to blow all their coins on other stuff leaving them unable to afford a water role. Everyone think like a baddie for a minute: Would you want to save all your coins for a bunch of extra votes that might out you when you could be buying kill powers?

I think it's prudent to discuss this sooner than later, so thanks for bringing it up, Bullz. I will have a think upon it. We have no assurance that Gleam will ever be able to rejoin the game, but I think it likely that the Water King is still out there. At this point, waiting until last for Water gives the baddies one more night to amass coins, so my inclination is to (finally) listen to Vomps and maybe do Water first. At the very least, the Water King will gain his/her power if not NK'd before then.
You could be right actually. Given that there are only two dead players whose roles we don't know, and one of them a lot of people have worked out anyway, there's a good chance the Water King is still alive. I guess it does make more sense to give a benefit to a living civvie than a dead one. I think at this point no matter when we go WW the baddies will probably have a free pass but hopefully we can take at least one out before we go.

I don't really know. I have a sort of theory brewing that would make her a civvie (Elo) if true but it's based on assumptions about Llama and I haven't totally investigated it yet. I agree with you that her case wasn't brilliant and SVS in particular had quite a strong reaction to it. Russ also made a good point that SVS' vote for Elo was basically the same thing as what she was accusing Elo of doing. I could maybe see an SVS vote today.

Do we know what's even going on with the baddie roles? There seem to be far too many, and most have a price by them.
I'm looking at the roles right now, and these are my thoughts:

It seems as though the baddie team consists of Bowser and three baddie minions, who have the ability to buy their role with the coins they have. Since this is only the first day and no one really would have any money at this point, the three baddies chose the Goomba role, hence why Rob would post that the baddies today are Bowser and three Goombas. I'll bet when we see the game move on, we will see those roles change.

I'm also guessing that if the host uses this format for each day post, we'll be able to find out soon enough if a baddie is killed in a lynch or night kill turn.
Ah that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up! Good point as well that we'll know if baddies are killed at night by the number of pictures shown. If Epi continues to show them that is, maybe for whatever reason later on he'll decide to keep them secret or something.
This is the first thing I noticed. Makes me wonder if Bullz was hoping that the baddie pictures would at some point not be shown.
Where do you get to that from "if Epi continues to show them"? What I was thinking at the time, and I don't even know why because it doesn't seem to be possible, is that baddies might die at night and Epi might choose not to let on by not revealing their roles.
Hedgeowl wrote: His voting record is gleam, nev, llama, missed vote. Now all three of these people are dead, but only gleam was actually lynched. The missed vote gets me more, wouldnt you be less worried about missing a vote if you knew Birdo was going to lynch llama?
I was hardly the only person to vote Gleam or Nev and good points were made about both of them. Llama I voted for before I realised who he probably was and if he were still alive I wouldn't be voting for him again. I missed the vote because I hadn't realised the poll ended early and I was out with friends anyway so would've had to vote on my phone or something. I actually hate missing votes and almost never do it (I've done it maybe 6 or 7 times over so many games that I've lost count) so even if I did know there was going to be a lynch switch I'd have still voted anyway.
Hedgeowl wrote:Bullz also pointed out that Bowser has only one NK. I had just assumed this was one a night, but it appears to be just one for the game. So, why was it used so quickly on Nev? The fact that Bullz pointed this out so quickly makes me wonder too.
I've read the roles, and the way Bowser's was worded stuck out to me because it's unusual for a baddie team to only have one kill ever. I pointed it out when I saw the post asking about it, I can't help that I saw it soon after it was posted.
Hedgeowl wrote:Another question that comes up is Bullz coin vote. He voted for Russ with the civ claim again and then randomized for Elohcin. Nobody else randomized their coin votes did they?? This actually leads me to think a Russ or Elohcin vote is not a bad idea either.
I didn't know who I wanted my other two votes to go to but a lot of people seemed to be trusting Russ so I gave him one. Elo was among a group of people which was very likely to include the Giant King but I wasn't sure which of them it was most likely to be. You act as if I randomised between the entire game when really it was like 4 or 5 players. I suppose I could always have just not mentioned randomising and said I thought Elo was a specific role, making her a target for baddies when they figured out which I thought she was.

Hedgeowl wrote:I agree Bullz that baddies probably wouldnt waste the coins, especially not knowing what the suits do and the other items must be won, so only makes sense to go civ there. If someone was a baddie it would also be risky to claim that you had something, when someone else that actually had it could counter so easily.

I take it Roxy, you were planning a Lizzy vote today?

Also why no NK again I wonder? Isn't that Bowser's power? Maybe lots of blocks hence they bought Birdo to secure a lynch. I was protected last night because I had the Hammer suit, which makes me wonder if others were also protected or if I was potentially a failed NK?

We think Llama was killed for his possible ability, but he also voted Roxy, and was suspecting MP. I also think Bullz is a good candidate to examine. We are only 12 and 4 are baddies, so we really need to lynch one today.

Vomps and Mongoose! I think we need to divide and conquer. I plan on rereading Bullz, MP, Roxy, and Vomps. Why dont you Mongoose, read me and three others, and vomps you read mongoose and the last three. If we post thorough examinations of each we may ferret out something in the next 24 hours.
Well Bowser's role description says he has one NK. So I'm guessing that's literal and his kill already happened. I also agree with you that it'd be risky for a baddie to claim they'd bought a suit when they hadn't, I was just throwing it out there with Vomp and don't actually find him suspicious at all really. What is it that makes you so trusting of him and Mongoose though?

If baddies can't use items I really don't see why they'd bother bidding for them. They need to save their coins for roles don't they? It would make more sense to save up for the powerful killing roles rather than waste coins on stuff they can't use just to keep it out of civvie hands. Both Pipe World and Dark World still could have their kings alive though, and it would make a trip to either fruitful (except for the caveats I mentioned above).

Does anyone have a gut instinct on Dark v. Pipe?
As far as I know there haven't been any particular effects like those for the worlds we've visited so far so I don't know if I think it'd be any different for other worlds (except perhaps water where we know some baddie roles are quite powerful).

I'm voting Llama today because of this statement:
thellama73 wrote:I am starting to feel worse about MP these days, but I also agree with Roxy about Lizzy not contributing anything. A civ who does nothing is almost as harmful to the group as a baddie, so even if we are wrong about her there will be no great loss. I'm holding onto my vote just a little bit longer, though.
I don't disagree that civvies who don't help the group can be harmful, but really any civvie loss is a great loss IMO because it puts us one step closer to defeat. This logic seems to me like it leads quite easily into "well sure I pushed for that civvie's lynch but they weren't doing anything to help so it doesn't make me a baddie for wanting to lynch them". It's easy for baddies to hide behind that sort of vote hoping that others agree not to look at the people who vote for an unhelpful civvie.

*Votes Llama*

No great loss except that every dead civvie is one step closer to a baddie victory.

After I had already voted Lizzy on last lynch, I noticed that Little Tiger had voted for Desert after Gleam was killed and revealed to be the Sultan of Swing/Desert Land. She did explain herself when I asked her to in the thread, so I still feel that is fishy.

I have to vote early because today is my monthly book club meeting (I lead it!) and it's an hour away from me and 15 mins to my carpool spot. Plus I need to finish the discussion questions. It's New York themed this month (because this is a NYT book, so we chose NYC as our theme), so maybe someone will have pizza. I know someone is bringing cheesecake shooters, and we are having NYC-themed cocktails. It might be well after the lynch until I am able to check in again.

In light of everything I just said, Mongoose votes Little Tiger.
Wait it's fishy because she did explain it? Is that a typo or is there something I'm missing here?

Well I at least won't be voting Lizzy, so that will count as spreading the vote a little I suppose.

Vomps saying he wont vote for her even if she is bad makes no sense - why dont you ask her out on a real date Vomp and get on with it k - my vote will be totes going to Lizzy unless someone comes right out and says they are bad. Lizzy never gave any defense she just asked if I liked pizza  (btw any Vocellis pizza is my fave) and while you may be very entertaining I still think you are bad Lizzy <3
We don't know her alignment in Bioshock, true, but we do know what her alignment was in TTTE. She was bad with me and she was nothing like how she's been in this game. She had a far more careful style and tried to avoid attention rather than how she's been here. Given that that style ultimately won her (and our team) the game, I doubt she'd change it. If she was doing the same here I'd vote for her in a heartbeat.

I haven't really been paying huge amounts of attention to this game. I was so invested in Bioshock that I pretty much neglected this and the other one I'm in and haven't exactly read everything like I should have. So that's how I missed the Nev case.

Re: Classic Super Mario Bros. [Day 2]

Okay so I'm voting Snow and Gleam for obvious reasons, and Russ because a few people seem to be trusting him at the moment and I haven't seen anything to make me disagree. My last coin will go to one of the Snow voters because of the fact he was lynched with less votes than Lizzy had so it's possible the Giant Realm King was among his voters. Randomizing between them got Elohcin.

Also I voted for the dark world because it sounds dangerous and scary which probably means it's a happy lovely place and the safest to be in. Also nobody else had voted it yet.

Re: Classic Super Mario Bros. [Day 2]

Having looked back, SVS did make some good points about Nev but the thing I noticed is that he feels really over-defensive to me. It's one accusation from one person at the beginning of the game but from his posts you'd think he'd been hounded for weeks. I'm voting Nev based on that.

When she and I were bad together in Thomas she played a very careful game not wanting to say anything that might draw attention to her. Obviously people change and all that but I can only go on past experiences. I don't actually think I want to vote Snow either at this point. I'm gonna have to reread quickly and see what I think.
Bullz, you know you're my favourite psycho on the board, but OI! don't blow my cover! :p
You've obviously not met half the psychos round here then! Linki makes it clear you're talking about psychology but I'm still going to believe you mean psychopath just coz.

There are still 5 people left to vote, so I am note sure how its going to go. I agree with what you're saying. Lizzy isnt coming across as bad the more she posts based on her other game. Snow is sounding more and more sincere in his defenses. I don't love SVS's case on Nev either though. However, she trusts her intuition on this one quite a bit, so I might be willing to give it a go, since i have a complete lack of intuition amd instead try to at least find some bit of logic.
I hadn't noticed the Nev case but SVS is one of the people I tend to trust the most when I think she's a civvie so I'll take a look at that and see how I feel.

Re: Classic Super Mario Bros. [Day 2]

MovingPictures07 wrote:Well, I don't feel that was particularly illuminating. I have pretty fuzzy reads on almost everyone currently... I honestly thought the Day 1 lynch was more telling at the time, and reading through it now, there are possible speculations to be made, but it's difficult to draw solid conclusions using only that information, especially considering how early it is.

That being said, I went with my gut the previous day with Hedgeowl, and I told myself whatever the first name I thought of that would most be worthy of my vote, after currently assessing everything that has happened and my reads on players, then I would go with that name. That name is Bullzeye.

And here's why.

Sure, I felt like Llama was subtly pushing the thread, perhaps in a nefarious way, but I only received that vibe from a few of his posts, and I have nothing concrete to back that up. My opinion of Hedgeowl has not changed at all since my previous vote... so, very slightly leaning in the baddie direction.

It comes down to either Nevinera and Bullz, and I think Bullz's bandwagon vote for Gleam was insincere and I think I am most currently feeling he is most sketchy, so I'm going with that. Nevinera could very well be acting insincerely, and I was originally getting somewhat of that vibe from his posts, but I am less convinced by that right now after his elaborations, despite S~V~S's certainty.

That being said, a Nevinera lynch might be telling, but it also might be completely worthless. I'm afraid it would be more the latter, so perhaps that is unfairly influencing my vote in the other direction. Don't know. But... there's my train of thought, I guess. I was hoping I'd have more time AND more "evidence" to go off of, but sadly, neither of those are close to numerous. Sucks to have to vote now, but I know I won't get home in time and that I won't have time during lunch.

Linki with Elo: Lol, yes, I did see that; I clearly defied him. :feb:
In what way am I 'sketchy'? As usual for a game that's still in early days I haven't even had that much to say yet. There was nothing insincere about my vote, I voted based on what I thought was going on and was obviously wrong.

There are 16 in the game and 3 who have not voted in the map poll. We have until tomorrow.

Just for that I will probably vote Giant! :p
Haha really? So much for my counting skills! Looking at the poll again I think I went based on the numbers next to names, not noticing the host/dead/non option. I actually thought there were 15 and not 16 players though for some reason. Now I wish I'd voted Ice because it's the only one with 0 votes. That was what I'd have done if I could count.
