I'm quite surprised that nobody accidentally posted in this thread something that was supposed to go in the btsc thread. Or perhaps they did and it was something so unremarkable nobody noticed.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
He was the same way in our chat. I think he might be getting a bad rap here, it's certainly not his fault I'm disappointed with how the game went. I just wanted to win and thought I was going to and am therefore sad I didn't - but it's not the end of the world. If he wasn't on your team and someone else was you'd still have won because it was really MM who won it for you in the end by rezzing you and enabling your team to switch the lynch and gain the advantage.S~V~S wrote:I have to say, when I look back on it, to those on Ahriman & Azura, that aapje really did not actively work against you, even at the end.
Last night it was just he & I in the chat, trying to decide what to do. He did not steer the discussion. He had me talk it out, basically, and would not decide himself about what we would do with the rezz & switch. He let me decide. I actively tried, actually, to get him to decide because I was feeling unsure of myself, I knew we were using up our secret resource and I did not want to mess it up. But he made ME decide. And it probably was not the only time.
So, in his own treacherous fashion, he did the right thing by you.

This is kinda funny because Llama was all "bitch please I write novels I'm gonna ace this backstory competition". His entry was pretty strong, in all fairness. Yours must have been brilliant.S~V~S wrote: I also won the backstory contest with a story about Azura so we found out some of the roles on some of the teams.

I don't actually remember. I don't think he did. I sent in the PM to put the votes onto you right toward the end of the day.Spacedaisy wrote:I was trying to bait it, I knew the lynch would be switched and I wanted to try to bait it so my teammates would be safe. I feel mostly the same. Realising Aap didn't actually betray us that much kinda helped, but I genuinely thought my team had a really really strong chance to win, only to realise at the last second that Nubzargan were able to steal the win. I never win, so the possibility of getting this one meant a lot to me and I'm really disappointed but I don't hold anything against Team Nubz. I don't think the game was that unbalanced though tbf. Like you I really enjoyed the game and am very glad I played. I think it's one of my favourites of all time as well as some of my best - and worst when I couldn't keep up - overall performance.Spacedaisy wrote:I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling really burned right now. Seeing everything going on makes me realize I really never had a chance to win this game from the start. There were some balance issues here. But I did enjoy the game despite that. So thanks for your hard work BR and LC.

I didn't mean me personally, I mean nobody ever asked about the Lord of Thunder once the Wielder of Lightning was dead. So nobody knew about my funky new powers and hopefully assumed that the role had basically become vanilla.Metalmarsh89 wrote:We had your alignment pegged down, but not your role, so we never had a reason to question it I don't think.Bullzeye wrote:A fair assumption to make. We assumed that the redefined role could only apply to the original vanilla players or possible reywas.

FWIW I don't understand why he bothered trying to kill you again, and I assumed you'd be back again at some point. Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
Have answered this one already: Pick the same element as Golden twice to gain knowledge of who he was (maybe btsc) and we'd be able to win together.Ricochet wrote: Lord of Thunder - Bullzeye
-- What was your epic challenge?
I sent in my decision during the night, believing it to be a night power. I think I chose to give -3 votes just in case Lightning named either myself or Llama. I was already recruited at that point and very conscious of not letting Golden find out.Ricochet wrote:-- What votes did you manipulate on D1 and how?
Fire. It was the first choice in the list so I went with that one. Golden picked something else, so we never got to find out what that did.Ricochet wrote:-- Which element did you pick on D/N2?
On night 3 I hadn't received new powers but during day 4 BR gave me a new set of parameters, which were basically mine and Golden's put together, only the fifth option changed to heal or hurt a player. Never found out what that did, I don't think anyone ever showed signs of being "hurt".Ricochet wrote:-- Which player did you pick on D/N4? (did it work anymore, since Golden was dead)
Sent a negative boon (renamed to "bane") to DH. This gave him a curse that he chose not to fulfill, and meant that he gained an extra vote per uncursed post. Then he got lynched but survived it.Ricochet wrote:-- same for D/N5
I hurt Scotty on night 6.Ricochet wrote:-- Which element did you pick on D/N6?
On night 8 I gave BWT +3 votes for the following day.Ricochet wrote:-- What votes did you manipulate on D8 and how?
I initially gave a bane to you, but then Llama decided he wanted to kill you again so I switched and gave it to LoRab.Ricochet wrote:-- pick player idem on D9
Protected Nutella at night.Ricochet wrote:-- pick player idem on D10
Hurt Epi. Making it the second time I'd targeted Caelia with a negative action. We really weren't keen.Ricochet wrote:-- What element did you pick on D/N11?
I alignment checked G-Man as he was one of the very few we were unsure of. Then he died anyway so it didn't matter.Ricochet wrote:-- What alignment/role check did you pick (?) on D/N12?
Blocked Rey because I assumed he'd try to kill me or Llama.Ricochet wrote:-- pick player idem on D12
Also I added +3 votes to Devin in the final lynch of the game, but Llama's vote force was a night action so nobody's vote was actually being controlled and I think literally everybody knew that at the time.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
Fun fact: I already explained Typh's death :P The night your power got switched with the Raven Keeper, Llama got your power. He targeted Typh just randomly as far as I know.Devin the Omniscient wrote:A few things before I forget:
As Brutal Executioner my epic challenge was to kill one of each role class: Guardian, Warrior, Sorcerer, Children.., and Brotherhood.
If I succeeded, I would have become completely independent.
I don't think this was answered yet: Who killed Typh? It was not me. The chaos dancer switched around a bunch of powers that night and someone else used my kill on him. I ended up with the keeper of the ravens' ability and wrote the "CHAOS" post. I didn't want to put a target on anyone that early, so my only goals with that post were to have fun, and to cause confusion and pointless discussion for a short time
Fun fact: I tried to kill MM on the same night he recruited meI successfully pegged him as a Warrior, so he would have died if he wasn't immune.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
Mine was that if Golden and I picked the same option for position five twice then we'd gain BTSC and I think would win together. It was ruined by the end of day three, but I didn't mind too much since I got total control over my powers. Even if I did never get to use an alignment check while it mattered.aapje wrote:Ricochet wrote:I forgot to use the negative vote on Day 5, because of the massive TB train. aapje, this is the part where I'm confirming that I genuinely forgot to send a PM, you can stop hounding me now.![]()
I switched SVS' position on Day 6, from position 5 to position 3. I guess she didn't lockdown the thread, in order to not out herself to me. Sneaky snaky.OR it didn't work, even though I was at 70%, I think.

I'll think about it
You did switch SVS' position but she chose not to use her power.
I'm curious to see a list of epic challenges and which ones were completed!

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
Another weird thing: For LA's recruitment, we'd been asked to pick five players and three roles, and to say whether we'd prefer to have our pick randomized from the roles or the players. These were my suggestions (which we ended up going with):
Roles:
War Monger
Druidic Elder
Deathmask Shaman
Players:
SVS
JJJ
Nutella
Rey
Tranq
Not only did we get both a role and a player we'd asked for (we randomized from players), but I managed to name Ubzargan, one of her recruits by both name and role, the soon-to-be-SK, and a civ recruit. It's possible that our selection came down to a coin flip between LA and Rey, quite an influential decision.
Are the btsc threads going to become public, as it was suggested they might? Would be interesting to read everybody else's schemes, I'm always intrigued about that sort of thing.

Roxy, your tactic almost fell at the first hurdle because you were in Llama's 3 choices for his first recruit. Good shout though, I thought for sure you were on Team Caelia.

That was the night Llama's power was swapped, and he ended up with Devin's. He targeted Typh I think just randomly. Incidentally, we also didn't try to kill Epi that night. In a btsc forum chat, on the 29th of August, Llama was unnerved by aapje suggesting we should have 4 recruits when we only had 3, and I suggested perhaps it was because aapje was on the other team and they did have 4 so he assumed we would too.

To be fair, nutella did want us to win with you and did ask us to rezz one of yours. She also defended you a few times in our btsc. We just didn't have any reason to trust you and were only keeping you around because we didn't need you dead. You kept coming after me and Llama so we weren't really keen on helping you, and didn't want to use our team's rezz on someone who wasn't aligned with us in case you just used us out for your own ends and then sold us out.Turnip Head wrote:Lmao at aapje double crossing everyoneI was told he was on Team Azura. I enjoyed trying to win as my role but I had a lot of bad luck with my Guardians. They didn't know they'd guaranteed it at the time unless they're all on Team Azura. We know he's almost definitely Azura now and we can hopefully lynch him tomorrow. Or are you saying you're obviously a civ and inherently trustworthy?Devin the Omniscient wrote:Bullzeye wrote:Are you mad because you're a baddie?Devin the Omniscient wrote:I'm mad at a lot of people right now![]()
Voted 1.It should be quite obvious why I'm mad. They didn't have to vote for you to make me happy, though. Just anywhere but llama. They guaranteed a lynch switch instead of giving us a 50/50 shot.
FWIW I would've voted someone else but the only alternative anyone was interested in bandwagoning was me, and just isn't something I can condone.
Linki - I know.

Presumably the only way anyone could know Ubzargan was dead is if they had btsc with him. Just saying.

There is no chance whatsoever of a baddie death if I am lynched.

If you're so set on us not lynching Llama today, can we at least lynch someone who is actually bad?

Fair enough, I misunderstood. Doesn't really matter anyway.Devin the Omniscient wrote:I think you're misinterpreting events now. He still is. But his last lynch attempt was switched to tranq (another potential baddie). 2 possibilities there: 1. Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 13)
My conversation with Rey during the lynch is being portrayed as if I was trying to pressure people into voting for him or arguing that LA was civ in order to prevent her lynch. This was not the case and anyone who took 5 minutes to look at the discussion could easily see that I was simply defending my own position and explaining why I found him worthy of a vote. If he hadn't been speaking to me, I'd have said nothing on the topic at all. I was not in any way trying to prevent nutella's lynch. People are acting as if I were her strongest supporter when I even said I didn't care if she got lynched and made no effort whatsoever to prevent her death.Turnip Head wrote:Who's deliberately misinterpreting things?Bullzeye wrote:I'm getting votes because of deliberate misinterpretations of how things happened and because I'm a convenient scapegoat. Nobody is arguing that Llama isn't bad.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 13)
I'm "pushing" for a Llama lynch because he's bad and I'm not. But go ahead and pretend you're right. I'm "pushing" Llama because the other option is apparently me. Apparently not having seen a case against someone and wanting to stick to your own guns and defend your opinion makes you a baddie.Devin the Omniscient wrote:Also, Bullz, for some originality in my vote reasoning (unless I missed someone else saying it already): I think you and llama are on a team.
