Can I ask, then, what everyone else feels about my position so far? If you agree with Epignosis' analysis?

I don't have much confidence in my suspicions, you're right. This is mafia. We make extremely vague speculations on minute details that far more often than not are either insignificant or misinterpretations. It's impossible to have knowledge based on inductive inference. All we can do is our best shot in the dark. That's what I'm offering with my current suspicion. And yeah, if I were a baddie, I would think that is a pretty in-depth strategy laid out there. Although, as you pointed out in HR, I wasn't all that good at being a baddie either.

I didn't make much attempt to really engage people because I didn't have as much time as I would like to participate in the game a few voting periods ago. I just got done with finals for the semester. I had time to stop in, catch up with the game progress, form a superficial and weak suspicion, and vote before I dipped out.

I'm sticking with what I said. I feel like I have better reason to suspect you and Metalmarsh than any other player still in the game.

Well, here are my current thoughts on the rest of the remaining players:

I'm going back to my position on Epignosis and Metalmarsh being teammates after their Boomslang lynch. Is it a long shot to say that they would both fake being insanified, getting us to think there is a secret role, and have one of them initially vote for the other in order to cover up being bad? Maybe. But it's also a brilliant baddie tactic, and if it were true, a perfect way to hide and throw suspicions elsewhere. If I were a baddie, it's a strategy I would want to use.
My other thought was that early on, before being "insanified", neither of them really gave a ton of good reason to really explain their vote. The last two lynches have been bandwagons one or the other has started. They may have intentionally spread their votes earlier to avoid a correlation but now with so few players left, just two people on board with a lynch is enough to damn near anyone.

I don't think I have any real suspicions on Typhoony or FZ at the moment. Both of them have been pretty active in the last two or three voting periods, both encouraging discussion and theories. I had said I was pinged by something FZ mentioned earlier but I read FZ as a civilian who is frustrated by the nature of our lynching history so far. Typhoony that's an interesting case you've built against me, my voting history is more that I really don't like bandwagon voting unless I'm dead sure about the person in question. At the time of their lynch I didn't find them suspicious enough to merit a vote, though they may have been moreso in my eyes earlier (re: Scotty and Matt) before they had enough time to explain their positions.

Simon I think is probably good, I agree with Spacedaisy in that given how much scrutiny he was under he's probably just avoiding trying to say anything at all given that it might hurt the good guys if he was lynched.

My initial suspicions of Spacedaisy were her noted absence at what I thought was a crucial intersection of discussion, I thought it may have been intentional but she explained why it wasn't. With regards to her being "too nice" well yeah, I gather she is someone who normally has a polite discourse and a pretty even head, but like I said before, where else better to hide than in plain sight? All the people previously thought to be bad by the majority were shown not to be, so we have to turn our attention elsewhere.

Well the snagret can't attempt a kill after it attempts a double kill, right? Or was that two nights ago? It's hard to navigate this on my phone.

Other possibility is that the snagret was Glorfindel, or one of the others killed in the explosion. My money was on Glorfindel being bad, so that's my thought.

It's bizarre to me that you think you have a handle on what I do when I'm bad when you have only one game's experience on that subject, and even then, I got recruited by a civilian, so had to adapt my strategies. Back on PA, I was bad- true, but it was my first online game- an MP game- and I had no idea what I was doing. Also, I have NEVER played on the Piano.

My entire point was that you do not know about what I would do when I am bad, so I found it weird that you went all personal about it, given I had to talk in jokes.

Fair enough, I wasn't really trying to make a claim about knowing how you play when you're bad, I was more originally responding to someone trying to explain to me how you go about playing in general.

I think you are bad for going after Boomslang, and I think you're in cahoots with Metalmarsh.

I'm going to echo FZ's sentiments on Wilgy. FZ is reading to me like a frustrated civilian.

I didn't suspect much of Boomslang from what I read, and now seeing his unfortunate lynch and civilian flip makes me question some.

Daisy, no amount of "I'm a civilian" is worth anything in mafia threads as far as I'm concerned, but the rest of your post content gives me a little more assurance as to your situation and position as of late.

I'm now suspicious of Epignosis and Metalmarsh again.

EBWOP: Meant to say that my suspicions are between Wilgy and Spacedaisy, but Wilgy has been almost too absent this whole game to really do anything. Daisy has only really been absent in this string of recent accusations, which seems like a baddie tactic to hide amongst quibblings.

Also I need to head to work soon. I'll try and keep up on my phone.

Typhoony's argument makes more sense than my original twisted conspiracy theory, or at least is probably more likely. Given that in mind I'm reversing my position on Epignosis and Metalmarsh, I'm inclined to think Spacedaisy might be guilty of something now. She's almost been... too good. Y'know?

I think I might've been NecronCommander, that was my tag on PA as well. I know Rob more through PA than anything, it must have been at least 6 years ago I started using that website and exchanged pleasantries with him. I feel like I'm entitled to say I can recognize his silliness.

That's some shade, Rob. That's some damn shade. Are you forgetting the games we played together on piano mafia and even the Mafia threads back on PA? I'm hurt.

I stopped playing mafia games on here for a while because I always got lynched or killed day 1, I couldn't play a game even if I tried.

With MM now talking in insanified, my theory now is that both he and Epignosis are faking it and attempting to make it look like they were insanified by highlighting little "hints" throughout. I think MM is attempting to make it look like his actions are being swayed by a baddie by switching his vote.

I say Epignosis and Metalmarsh are co-conspirator baddies. I vote Epignosis.

Einstein, Newton & Pascal are playing hide and seek.

Einstein starts counting "1...2...3..." and Pascal immediately runs away to stay hidden. Instead of hiding Newton kneels down and draws a square of one meter side length. Then he steps inside of it. Einstein finishes counting and turns around. He instantly yells "Newton I have found you!" But Newton replies: "No, what you see is one Newton over one square meter - so what you have found is one Pascal."

As a physics major I appreciate this joke.

I'm leaning towards an Epignosis vote right now. I think he's hiding something nefarious and I don't like his current actions.

I don't like this at all. Are you looking for a "reason" to vote for me? You obviously never played with me, but I take it hard when I lynch only civvies. Makes me wish I get NK and end the misery. How does it work for you? Are you having fun with all the civvies dying around us?

Well, it seems to me like you're just miserable about the state of the game and want to almost give up. That's how I'm reading it at least, that you're almost wallowing in your own misery and just inviting someone, be it lynch or baddie, to give you a reason not to play.
Just doesn't seem to be a very effective tactic if you're a civvie, inviting a vote like that. So I see this in three cases:

A. You're a civilian who has truly just given up hope and doesn't want to participate. If this is the case, you're actually helping out the baddies by narrowing down the list of civilians that are a more immediate threat to eliminate. You're also not helping out our team either. But I don't see this as a likely case, unless you were intentionally giving off this vibe to avoid a lynch vote.

B. You're a civilian who has some sort of lynch protection, like the Winged Pikmin. Not improbable given that we haven't seen any definitively dead yet.

C. You're a baddie who has some sort of sway on voting power. If either Glorfindel or K4J were a boss and you were the Phosbat, you'd have some more voting power, or at least would be less worried about a possible vote against you given how few people are left.

I'm of the opinion Glorfindel was probably baddie, I need to go back and re-read some stuff with that in mind. Until then, you're a higher up suspect on my list. I don't know what to make of Rob's continuous spamming, but methinks it could be a diversionary tactic.

I agree that Matt's vote is suspicious, until he explains himself. My vote may sway to him unless he can convince me otherwise.

Can I interject to mention that, with regards to Simon being Mafia, a lot of people are taking his age and inexperience into consideration. It might only be a matter of time before he role-outs himself due to aforementioned reasons. But I think until then I'm leaning a bit more towards civilian than baddie with regards to him, it seems like his defenses have been more out of frustration from an early onslaught and I too would probably get flustered if such a person was attacking me.

I also have to return to studying. Metalmarsh makes some decent points against Epignosis, something I would really like more time to consider, but I'm sticking with my thoughts on Scotty. So he gets my vote tonight.

The winged ones were actually my least favorite. They were weak as all hell in a fight, worse than any other. They were only really useful for assigning to a second commander for cleaning up treasure/collectibles after my main Pikmin force had cleared an area since they could fly over obstacles.

I'm not entirely sold on Scotty atm, and I really don't know what to think of the sig/Simon coalition. I don't think I read the early posts close enough.

I think that Epignosis is really good at being an instigator, making wild accusations on not a lot of merit that could be taken a number of ways, then extrapolating information from people's reactions. Which he's done in darn near every game I've played with him at least. It could be a ruse to divert attention away but it could also be normal behavior. Given that I don't have enough info either way, statistically he's less likely to be a baddie, but I wouldn't be willing to instantly give him the civ credit either.

I hate day 1 and never having anything to go on so I did literally just take a shit vote.

I wasn't really convinced of Zebra's badness, she seemed like she was more just flustered trying to defend herself, having been lynched pretty early on in a different game if I recall. I would look more closely at the bandwagon votes for both her and the early bandwaggoning for Glorfindel (sp?) It would be a good place for a baddie to hide in plain sight.

The only solid inclination I have towards anyone at the moment is Scotty, he made a couple of posts attempting to vouch for the goodness of certain people, something I think is less likely to be hiding teammates and more likely to just be casting him in a good light.

This is some pretty intense Day 1 rabble so far.

I have always thought the purple pikmin were the most adorable. Those fat lil bodies. Though there was that one treasure you needed 100 of them for at the end of Pikmin 2 and it took forever to harvest that many.
