The Syndicate

My housemate has been making this amazing Vietnamese coffee cake and everyone loves it. It's strongly coffee flavored cake with cardamom in it as well and covered with delicious gooey coffee-flavored condensed milk.
So I'm having a warm slice of that with a warm mug of maple-peanut-butter milk (sounds weird but it's good -- mix together a spoonful of PB and a couple tablespoons of maple syrup in a mug, fill it with milk and microwave it. Tastes kinda like those Mary Jane candies. also good with espresso and/or cocoa)

I'm pretty much with llama. I don't like candy corn, I profess to hate it, but I'm a dirty hypocrite and have eaten a few this week. It's one of the worst candies ever, but it's still candy, and sometimes I'll take whatever form of sugar is thrown at me.

Yeah there are a few in Portland now! (I've heard they used to just be in Eugene and have spread pretty recently) But you can also buy big bottles of the sauce from New Seasons and my housemates make homemade yumm bowls with it and sometimes I use it for other stuff it's just sooo good

(Yumm sauce is an Oregon thing and it's really hard to describe but it's literally heaven in your mouth)

God damn Trader Joe's vanilla meringues are just too fucking good they're so pure and simple but so goshdarn AMAZING how has man created a substance so perfect and melt-in-your-mouth-y

hmm, "what are you eating? - nutella" seems a bit better unfortunately I am not eating anything at the moment

My mom just made a sort of philly cheesesteak pie -- focaccia bread topped with beef, cheese, mushrooms, and some diced jalapeños, baked. Pretty goooood
