Re: Concerts
Oh my GOD you guys I just saw Darlingside who are absolutely amazing and so talented and all their harmonies are so beautiful and they were perfect on stage, and the opener was River Whyless and they also blew my mind with their talent (they did crazy stuff with percussion and they also all have great voices and play multiple instruments) And at one point during Darlingside's set they came out into the aisle right in front of me and River Whyless all joined them and they did an acoustic cover of 1979 by the smashing pumpkins lol it was great. And they were also really funny in between songs and all the songs were so gorgeous and I know I get gushy like this after every concert I go to lmao but this was truly beautiful and I highly recommend both bands <3

Re: Concerts
Aaaa I saw Tall Heights last night and they were AMAZING I love them so much
They were in Halloween costumes and the lead singer-cellist guy is extremely attractive and they were really friendly and they opened their first song with the Pirates of the Caribbean theme on the cello as the intro because he was a pirate and they did cool things with the audience like for one song they had everyone call each other's phones and hold them together to make ethereal feedback noises and that was really cool and at one point they asked for requests and I was the one who shouted out the "correct" answer that they really wanted and they played the song I wanted and they played so many of their beautiful songs and their sound is so perfect and I love them
also it was at my favorite little venue where I've seen my beloved Family Crest twice and Timber Timbre once, it's such a lovely intimate space/really close up

Re: Concerts
I saw Fleet Foxes last night and it was totally stunning. They played all my favorites from all of their albums and everything was so beautiful and perfect and I think I'm in love with Robin Pecknold. If you get the chance to see them live do it. So good.

Re: Concerts
Just saw The Family Crest and it was amazing. Lovely small venue and I had the fortune of being in the literal front and center spot, like touching-the-stage-could-have-touched-the-lead-singer's-leg-if-I-wanted close. They've been my fave for a bit over a year now so it was such a great experience to hear their music up close. Biiiig sound

Re: Concerts
Saw the Decemberists tonight, was awesome!!! Colin was hilarious and did some fun audience-participation stuff, and they had this whole act for the Mariner's Revenge Song involving their kids carrying a whale onstage.
Love their music and it was a really fun performance overall. The opening band, Calexico, was super enjoyable as well, I hadn't known anything about them but was impressed.

Re: Concerts
I saw The National last night and it was the best concert I've ever been to. SO awesome. (It helps that they're probably my favorite band currently
) It was an outdoor venue and it rained quite a bit, which was fun...
(mostly during the opening act, which was Frightened Rabbit -- I had never heard them before but they were quite good). I was very close to the front and when Matt Berninger went into the crowd during the encore I touched his shoulder
He's really entertaining/funny on stage, and they played most of my favorites (when Aaron sat down at the piano and started to play "England" I had a bit of a religious experience), and the visuals/lights were awesome, and it was just so good aaaaaa and for the final song of the encore they had the crowd sing Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks and it was starting to rain again and it was just SO beautiful. Overall an amazing experience -- if any of you ever get the chance to see the National live, DO IT. (Of course I'm pretty biased...)
