Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 11

Golden - I feel like if you really thought i was bad, you wouldn't be asking me if I can "cope" with a post of yours. I feel you would be a straight shooter and try to get me lynched. But by asking me that, I feel like you believe me to be a terribly misguided civ and you don't want to hurt my feelings.

You also asking me to "use my brain" to figure out how you figure there are four baddies left, again, I feel like you think you're talking to a misguided civ, which doesn't gel considering you believe "I'm one of the last four baddies."

The problem I have with your thought process, Golden, is that I happen to know you're wrong on me. So, in effect, anything else you say I can't trust for sure. "Is Golden just wrong again or is he a baddie trying to get me lynched?"

I'm only on the second page of your ISO, I'll read more next night phase assuming I'm not lynched today.

Peace

Linki - Well then. So Draco, Sorsha, MM, SVS, splints, Loraab, and Tranq are all civvie then? Again, it's hard for me to trust this when I know you are wrong on me. I don't know what else to tell ya.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 2

Okay people, I know I'm stoopid most of the time but you have to check this out. You don't have to read the whole thing if you don't want to, or read it at all that's up to you, but the following spoiler is my case on nutella and Sorsha. The whole thing is about nutella and Sorsha being partners.
Spoiler: show
Matt wrote:Okay Mac cover your eyes because...here...we...go...

At the time of nutella's vote, all three top contenders (Bug, Dom, Nana) had four votes a piece, yet she voted for Sorsha. The whole exchange between nutella and sorsha after nutella's vote was quite curious...because there was none.

6:29 PM
nutella wrote:Hmm, Dom suspects Sorsha, apparently because of her easy vote for him? I have to vote quite soon so I will look over that exchange and perhaps vote for either Sorsha or Buglabush. Feels like a really weak day 1 vote all around, I hope we get lucky.
6:37 PM
nutella wrote:Okay, I'm voting for Sorsha. Her early comments on Matt/Mac are confusing, and it looks like she tagged onto the Dom ping as an easy excuse not to vote for Matt or Mac (because she said she would if "nothing else came up"). She hedged around any actual reasoning for following Epi's lead. Now That's What I Call Opportunistic™!
After contributing throughout the Day phase with her thoughts, it takes a span of eight minutes for nutella to suddenly throw a vote on Sorsha, avoiding completely the 4-4-4 tie between Bug, Dom, and Nana.

Her next post, a minute later, says this
nutella wrote:Voted for Sorsha.

The Bubbles catch is interesting indeed. I don't feel like it merits a vote yet -- I'd like to see her response first.
In the same post saying she'd like a response from Bubbles first, she votes Sorsha. I think it's weird because during that eight minute window, nutella never asked or gave Sorsha a chance to respond.

But THAT'S okay, because there's still 22 minutes left in the poll. So Sorsha can still respond and maybe get nutella to put her vote where it matters! Right?

Here are Sorsha's posts after nutella votes her literally out of nowhere

6:40 PM (3 Minutes after nutella's vote on Sorsha)
Sorsha wrote:I could also go for a BUG lynch, wasn't fond of his comment to zebra mostly. Also if he's getting tips from Floyd or some bad btsc partner he could just be playing the noob card, it worked for quite a while when Floyd did it and was bad. If Dom is going to be around and contribute like he is now I would likely think better of him. I'm also reminded of his play in the gentlemans guide game when he was a low laying baddie who ended up winning.
6:48 PM (11 Minutes after nutella's vote on Sorsha)
Sorsha wrote:

Can this opinion become unanimous please? I don't see how it isn't obvious that that's what's going on.
I guess I still just feel bad voting a new player out on the first day....
So...

At the time of nutella's vote, the top three contenders (Bug, Dom, Nana) are tied at 4-4-4. Nutella, after contributing throughout the day, within an 8 minute timespan, throws her vote on Sorsha and completely avoids being a tiebreaker. Same post she votes for Sorsha, she makes an ironic statement about waiting for a response from Bubbles before placing a vote on her.

Then, the two posts that Sorsha make following nutella's vote...do not address the vote on her, do not address nutella. I would think nutella's vote would merit a reaction, something, even to say "Seriously? Put your vote where it matters", but nothing.

:ponder:
Okay, there is my case on nutella and Sorsha.

Now here is Golden telling me my case has a lot of merit...
Golden wrote:Voting nutella, for an early placeholder. Matt, I think your case holds a lot of merit.
Now here is Golden saying he doesn't agree with the Sorsha part of my case in a couple of posts...and I mean, wtf does that even mean? That's the whole case!
Golden wrote:And I think it's inaccurate to say Matt's case is on Sorsha not you. My read is that the case is that you and Sorsha are baddie teammates, but I find the statements about you more convincing...
Golden wrote:
nutella wrote:Alright, fair enough. I kind of fail to see how Sorsha and I could look like teammates, but okay, you are welcome to suspect me. I have nothing to hide :lorab:
I don't think you look like teammates, either, but I wasn't convinced by the sorsha part of his case. I guess - well, as you'll see from above, I already had my eye on you.
I think Goldy is bad and Sorsha (who feels that Goldie is the most civvie civvie in the land) is his partner. Let's get 'em!

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 11

Lol you are so caught. You're so lucky nobody will back me up most likely, but my offer for an alliance is still on the table, Turnip. They're gunning for you, too.

Anyway Golden, if you said "I think there are four baddies left and I think it is them", that's one thing. You said "I think they might be the last four baddies.", implying that you knew there were four baddies, and "you think" those four could be them. The "I think" has nothing to do with your claim of four baddies and you know it.

Golden, is Sorsha your partner? Reading over your ISO, I see early on...you said...

Oct 31st, 2:44 AM
Golden wrote:Voting nutella, for an early placeholder. Matt, I think your case holds a lot of merit.
Now if you recall, my case on nutella was based around nutella and Sorsha being bad together. Above, you vote nutella with the comment "Matt, I think your case has a lot of merit." Therefore, you must also think Sorsha could be bad since my case has a lot of merit in your eyes. But then within the same day phase...

Nov 1st, 2:16 AM
Golden wrote:@Sorsha - the more you post, the more I feel like my initial instincts about you were wrong. You are feeling relatively townish to me at the moment.
Don't get me wrong, you also claim in other posts around this time that you don't agree with the Sorsha part of my case, but what I don't understand is this. My whole case on nutella and Sorsha had to do with them being partners. And you said "I think your case has a lot of merit." and voted nutella.

How does my case on nutella have a lot of merit if you think I'm wrong on Sorsha being her partner? Cuz that was my whole case. Explain please.

Golden wrote:Any one of those four is ok with me. I think they are all bad. I think they might be the last four baddies.
Golden thinks they might be the last four baddies. The last four.

Also, I have a theory on how he'd know for sure, but Dom has to be bad in this theory and Golden's teammate. I'm not ready to commit to that yet.

But yeah, disregarding me completely and spinning it by saying "I think you're just desperate", tell me what you think about Golden's claims of four baddies left.

Do we suppose the civ, Mafia, and indy were told that Long Con would tell the town that "one civ, Mafia, and Indy knew at the outset?" or did our host keep that info to himself when letting these players know?

:ponder:
You'd have to be daft to have your whole team pile on, though, right?

Plus, in the case of at least some of these people (Epi, Marmot, I'm pretty sure SVS), I know prog is also the truthful answer.
Also? As in "in addition to" ? I feel like you're saying "one of these peeps did get info, my teamie, but ALSO it is the truthful answer". Why else say "also" ? Why not just "Plus, in the case of at least some of these people (Epi, Marmot, I'm pretty sure SVS), I know prog is also the truthful answer."

Thanks bud. But at this point, SVS has found her itch and she's gonna scratch it town be damned.

Based on Golden's comments, I'm not so sure my theory on you/MM still holds. That doesn't mean I think you're necessarily good, but would you like to form an alliance to lynch Golden? Golden supposedly knows how many Mafia are left, it's cray cray.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 10

Y'know what's funny? I thought to myself "Maybe Golden still thinks Dr Wilgy was Trickster, so that's why he had it down to four baddies." Gotta be, right? But wait, he posted this post after saying pretty matter of factly "...the last four baddies"...
Golden wrote:
fingersplints wrote:I agree with ^^ a lot of this.
I'm ok with a Bass, Timmer, or TH vote and am still considering Matt. I'm not the best with roles though, so idk who is most important to lynch first.
The ones I'm most afraid of are possessing entity and trickster, assuming both are bad. But I don't know who any of their roles could be.

Even if SVS speculation is right and TH is saved by the lich and the lich is bad, it doesn't necessarily make TH the lich. It could be any of his teammates.

So, I'd prefer to just lynch whoever we feel most confident about.
Per the underline, clearly Golden does not still think Wilgy is Trickster or he just doesn't 'know, and also, he says "assuming both are bad", so he's not even sure Trickster is bad. Therefore, when he stated "...the last four baddies", he could not have been referring to Wilgy also dying.

So again, Golden, how do you know there are only four baddies left? :mafia:

Linki - Lol Sorsha. I don't know if he's right. But he sounded pretty sure when saying there was four baddies left. Why are you so confident about his civvieness?

That's interesting. "...the last four baddies." By my count, there may be 4, 5, or *possibly* even 6 baddies left. Since Witherdeath has one more baddie on it, that must mean you are counting the other three as Circle of Decay.

How do you know Circle of Decay doesn't have all four left?

Timmer - Do you still have a strong suspicion of Golden or is he no longer on your suspect list?

SVS - Listen, I admit I always think your bad. Even in this game, I haven't even brought it up, because I think "No Matt, you always think this." But you know what? I know in a recent game of ours you thought I was bad (and you were wrong) and in multiple in the games in the past, I know we've clashed because we constantly suspect each other.

Can you do me a favor and at least, consider, that being in so many games at once along with starting a new job, preempted my normal tunnelness. You are correct that if I had put two and two together, sure as shit I would've been all over Timmer regarding the Obsidian Dagger, but it simply never crossed my mind. And AS SOON as Tranq said something, it clicked, and yep, as you know me all too well, I was all over it.

I don't know. But before it's too late and you can't come back from thinking of me as a baddie, can you consider what I've said here? Can we at least lynch Timmer first?

Tranq - You said you believe Timmer about the Figurine. Can you say why or is this one of those against the spirit of the game things where we just have to simply trust your vagueness?

I'm getting drained defending myself over here. The only person in this game (that I know of) that might have an inkling to my civvieness is Dom, so I hope he speaks up, but with his latest posts he seems to think I might not be good anymore, so blah.

Because juliets, Luke, and Floyd were all on a team together. That means one more person on their team. It can't be both Timmer and I.

So SVS, question, given your quote up there towards me...do you believe I am on the Witherdeath or the Circle? And depending on your answer...no wait it doesn't depend, whatever your answer is...explain how "Like juliets too little too late" on Tiimmer. Because I can't be both of their partners.

I've had a hard time keeping up, so no, when I got that list along with having to catch up every single day in the thread, it did not jump out at me "Oh oh I better ask Timmer what this other item he got was." I notice Lorab never asked that question either. Why so focused on me but not Lorab? Or how about Tranq? I can't think of any reason Tranq would even ask Timmer that question unless he also has the list, but still all over me. Why?

I'm not sharing detailed information, because I think that goes against the spirit of the game.

That said, assuming we came across the information in the same way, while you may not know about the Obsidian Dagger, I can't say that it's accurate that you don't know about any of the items on the list. So, what you say is partially accurate, but not entirely truthful.

Are you at 100% SVS? Because ever since the list has been brought up, you've been all over me like I'm Timmer's baddie partner w/o even knowing if Timmer is bad yet. :ponder:

Speaking of which, SVS, what do you think of Timmer's outright refusal to comment on your accusations of me and him? Him staying silent makes me look worse, IMO, so agaiin Tim Tim, good job. SVS, if I really was Timmer's teammate, do you think he would refute your claims or stay silent on the matter?

Per the underline, SVS is tunneling me right now so I'm not sure she'll believe this, so hey Lorab, can you let SVS know that I did not know what the Obsidian Dagger (or any of the other items) did, all I had was a name to an item? Thank you.

Again, yes, I had this info for three days and said nothing. Why? Because it simply didn't occur to me. The list had many items on it, and it's not as if Obsidian Dagger was in big font, bright colors, it was smack in the middle of the rest of the items, and unfortunately, while Timmer was discussing this supposed other item he had instead, it never clicked for me to ask. But once Tranq asked the name of the item, I had that very awesome "a-ha!" moment, and pursued it myself. In fact, I'd dare say w/o me bringing up the list yesterday, Timmer wouldn't have gotten all those votes so quickly following.

I also find it HILARIOUS that SVS is on my case for not sharing information, then goes on to say she won't share information. :haha: On that note, btw, the baddies more then likely have much more information then any one civvie, so I would say my asking people to spill what they know would help the town immensely more then it would the Mafia, but hey, if you don't want to share SVS, and town loses, that's on you.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 10

It never crossed my mind to. In fact, most games don't allow you to discuss PMs but I just checked and luckily I don't think I broke any rules because all it says is no reproducing PMs for this one.

And if that's the case, that makes me think we can claim whatever. In that case, I'd like some peeps to spill the beans on stuff they think they know. No more of these "breadcrumbs" as Golden put it, from reading the rules, there's nothing saying we can't discuss what we've found, as long as you don't discuss your map btsc, reproduce PMs, or discuss specific map coordinates.

So, spill.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 10

Elaborate. What situation doesn't read right? Me having a list and not revealing that? Lorab, who you trust, has had a list two days longer then I have. Or do you mean Turnip getting lynched in place of Timmer? That seems weird to me, too, and considering Timmer's outright neglect to challenge SVS on her accusations of me and him, as well as his own responses to me, make me want to lynch the guy next day phase.

What does that mean? I asked you why you didn't refute SVS' claims that we (you and I) are partners?

Dom - Withholding info? Did you not read my response to that question already? I'd like to know, what is your opinion of my affiliation? You think I'm good, bad, or indy? Go.

Yup. When Tranq said he wanted to know the name of the supposed item Timmer found, it clicked then. Anyway again, I'm not bussing. As you noticed, clever Tim Tim didn't even bother refuting SVS' claim that we're partners. This is going to sound effed up, but at this point if Timmer flipped civ, I would sigh in relief that SVS or anyone else can't come after me for this lol.

Anyway, whatevs let's see what happens.

I'll save you the trouble. I don't think I've said squat about the Dagger or Timmer. In fact, the other day Tranq asked me my opinion of Timmer, and as I told him, I wasn't really sure because pretty much this entire game I've been in several games at once PLUS I just started a new job last week (see speakeasy hot seat thread where I mentioned this two days ago to bea). Now I'm finally getting back into the groove.

I really don't think it's weird at all that I didn't mention this. As Lorab (and probably Tranq) can tell you, the list has about 15 or 20 items (maybe more) and I didn't even think twice when I saw "Obsidian Dagger" on it in the middle of all the other things. I think, ESPECIALLY if Dom is bad, some baddies know my role and are planning on getting rid of me the only way they can. For realz.

SVS - I didn't give it any thought until Tranq mentioned wanting to know the name of the item Timmer ran across. At that point, it clicked, and I was like "good question" because I recalled I had the list. Simple forgetfulness. Though I like how Timmer hasn't even bothered to refute you when accusing us of being partners. Thanks there, Timmer, if you flip baddie, nice work.

Anyway, yes I have consistently voted MM because I think he's Dr Dre, and I think Dr Dre is either bad or indy despite whatever role he played in the last World game.

Btw, to anyone who thinks it's suspish that I "sat on info", I suppose each and every one of you has revealed what they have learned during their travels on the map? I know I have spoke about MM/Turnip at length, as well as writing an open letter to the Living Statue. What have the rest of you uncovered?

It's a list of items that are in the game. It includes the Scintillating Beacon, if that is what you are referring to. I do not know if it includes Cursecrafter items.

I received the list on Night 6.

I see no "Figurine".

I just think it's odd that he didn't vote for three day phases in a row, but was here voting in the night phases. I'm not against a Bass lynch, but I feel like something's up.

Who cares who they pick as long as they get someone not on their team lynched?

Also, I know we already went over on how you would never allow your team to NK you when you have a protect, but I also noticed, along with Luke and Juliets, you gave Floyd the A-okay when you ISO'd everyone.

Anyway, just trying to look at every angle. Are you convinced that Bass is the type of player who would miss three lynch phases while voting during the night phases, and not once even apologize to the hosts for missing? I think it's fishy.

Sorsha, you seem to have been keeping close tabs on Bass with several posts updating us on when he missed two votes, and then three. Are you aware of the Possessing Entity role? It's power is secret, but I'm guessing it possesses other players in some way. Do you think it's possible that Bass has simply been possessed and was forced to miss votes? The only problem I'd have with this is typically you cannot double target, however, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a player can't be possessed for several day phases in a row before being released. ASSUMING that's how the PE's power works in the first place.

I don't know, I just think it's weird how Bass hasn't even made any public apologies to the hosts for missing votes, just says he's been "super busy".
You're making a lot of assumptions. Why would someone who could possess players even bother with Bass when he's not around? Besides which, the fact he's been quiet isn't really one of the reasons he looks suspicious.
Well, if the Possessing Entity is bad, which to me looks like they are, and if Bass is civ, then ummmmm the answer would be to get a civ lynched? What an odd question. :ponder:

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 10

Yesterday was hella busy for me, gotta catch up, but happened to see Turnip's latest post here...

Here's my full dealio on MM/Turnip.

I believe the day phase before Turnip was "killed", MM voted for Turnip in the lynch poll. Then Turnip dies in the night phase. That by itself is always a little sus to me. Though you can easily be framed for such a thing, to vote for the person in the lynch poll right before that person dies, it seems like a good little "No way would I have done that! derp" thing to do.

Then, while I'm making my way through the Map, I happen to see MM on the same square as Turnip's dead corpse.

Then, the following phase, presto chango, Turnip is alive again, after being killed and experimented on by Dr Dre.

Okay, fine, so all this, doesn't prove nothin'.

Then, after Turnip comes back alive, and I'm sussin' these two, I ask them about each other. Turnip seems to make a "case" on MM, and even votes for him one day. I say "Hey Turnip, I'm thinkin' of voting MM too, you planning on leaving your vote there?" And he's like "ummmm nope" (okay so that obvi a paraphrase)

Anyway, the whole thing to me seems sketchy.

Buuuuut, as people have pointed out (I believe it was Turnip actually), Dr Dre was a civilian in the last World game. Not that that proves anything really, but it is info that we should keep in mind, I suppose.

All that being said, while I'm catching up, I'm going to move my vote back to Marsh. I still wonder about Dom, but I think MM would be a safer option.

I'm off all day, though, so will be catching up to see if I want to vote elsewhere.

Barring secrets, there are a few roles who can survive NKs.

Karma Chameleon, Lich of Khastor Keep, Living Statue, Psionic Ninja. Only one of these have I mentioned several times in the game, I'll let you figure it out.

I suspected before the night post, and now am almost certain. Doesn't mean I'm right, though.

Golden - No, not Dr Dre. I know many players feel the need to mention their own role in the game, and though I have actually done that myself in this game, it wasn't the Dre dog, believe me.

Are you still assuming Wilgy was the Trickster, Golden? If so, alrighty. If not, what do you make of his "Beware the Lorab" ?

Also, Lorab, lots has been posted since I originally questioned you about an hour or two ago. Is alternative your favorite music genre?
