Nice.

I'm gonna have to disagree there. Those are fine statements. The waffleyness is good in my book.

That said I'm on the fence about jack and don't mind that folks are voting him. I just think LC's reasoning is unsound.

Well, I just looked at the third page of your ISO, and I can barely find a stance on anyone. Lots of conversation, little stance. "Town DDL exudes a certain towniness". It's not personal. I just can't do anything with the playstyle you exhibited on D1, and find it actively not fun to play with.

But it's nice to see someone else who likes killing inactives. People are way to passive about assuming replacements rain from the sky and my least favourite thing about hosting is having to make the call to boot someone who just isn't around, assuming I even have a replacement available to do it.
Why do your preferences as a host have any bearing on your actions as a player looking for scum?

Hey, what did I do?
Killed Dom.
I believe that would make me the vigilante. Why would the Mafia kill Dom after he came very close to getting lynched?

I didn't kill anyone.
I didnt mean you were literally the triggerman. But Omar (more likely than a vig, imo) bought into your Dom suspicion and killed him for it and that didn't work out, which makes me double down on my belief in your insincerity on the case against Dom.
Why? How does the vigilante buying into LC’s read make his read less sincere?
If Dom had been bad, LC would've been right, and then my finding it insincere would've been wrong. But Dom wasn't, so that reinforces my thinking that LC wasn't genuinely going after Dom because he thought he was bad.
Yeah, you're right. When I'm bad, I vote for town, and when I'm town, I vote for baddies. That's how I play. It's easy to catch me. I should come up with a scheme, when bad, to only vote for people who won't get lynched. Then my obvious tell, which you have picked up on, would be hidden.

Sure, but acting civ well and creating cases when mafia *is* sowing chaos, because you know the cases are BS (or in 2 mafia team environment, there's not really any reason to actually care if the case is correct, only if it's believeable).

And yea, thought so. So that's probably the real answer then, isn't it?

.....ohhh

so you think LC is mafia who tried to bait a vig/3p kill onto a townie?
It seems like something he'd do in a situation where he didn't care about the lynch result. So since both Drago and Dom were civ, I think LC was bad and was using a bad civ D1 to sow chaos. It's what he does best.

Is that really true though?

Take a look at Dom's ISO in Girl Genius. He was Civ, I think the "main" Civ? I think the differences are pretty striking.
The D1 differences? Browsing that, it doesn't read that different to me. Do you have any specifically damning differences in mind?
In this game, the bulk of his posts are about calling things bullshit and firing off mirroring questions with no evidence of caring about the answers. In Girl Genius, he was more interactive, gave reads, agreed or disagreed with people, and said things like "It matters that you have avoided answering direct questions."

Did anyone avoid answering his direct questions in this game? Can you tell if he even cares?
Ah. Tbh, Dom in general reads bad to me. I agree with you about how he comes across in this game, I just don't find the other game to be that different, or his game in general to be that different at the start of the game. It's when he gets quiet though, that I found he tends to actually be bad. And that I don't really see here so I'm undecided on if I want to vote for him. Be helpful if he were around to respond to stuff directly.
I do not follow the highlighted portion, boo. Are you saying that Dom has specifically been Not Quiet this game? If so, then why does he remain in consideration for a vote?
I think he has been quiet. That's a combination of few posts, and my judgement of the level of the engagement therein.

That's where I'm at, actually. I'm not super-inspired by the Dom vote either, and I wouldn't be surprised if a Dom lynch ended badly. When I went to compare the two games, I kept an open mind... if I had seen the same Dom, then I would have posted about it. Like I said, I found the differences striking, and it served to solidify my vote more. The scales are unbalanced without Dom here to defend himself, but I'm on the heavy side of the scales.. something else will have to tip the balance enough to chanfge my vote, if Dom isn't going to bring the weight down.

I have a sexy angleshooting alternate vote in mind, but I won't discuss that openly... I'll just let it inform my vote should the winds blow that way. :feb:
Who else is worth looking at?
I don't mind the Rej and Drago wagons too much. I haven't yet looked at DDL to see if he's been as insincere as some say... which I think is the main reason he has votes?

Do you make anything of Dom's focus being mostly centered around Jack and nutella?
I think it's reminiscent of Australian Mafia Day 1, where Dom and nutella were bad, and Jack was good.

Re: The Wire Mafia

Took a look at Dom's ISO. It's not that long of a read. It consists of him asking superbasic questions ("And what does asking superbasic questions mean to you?") and telling people they're full of shit. No follow-up detected, so the questions appear to be designed to look probing, but it falls very flat every time. What that means to me is that Dom wishes to look aggressive toward Jack and nutella, and to seem game-solvey with the questions, but isn't putting any real heart into them. Questions without purpose are filler, and filler is a scum tell.

boo wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2019 12:49 am Her fence sitting would feel a lot more in her baddie-meta than her civ-meta, to me Dom. I'm curious for her to weigh in on it herself now though.

Anyways, I just spent far longer on this than I meant to (and I'm aware most of that was far to meta a discussion to be particularly useful, so apologies for those who have no interest in that sort of overall game analysis and just like the skin and bones of a game to chew on, I'll try and focus on the issues at hand tomorrow), have an exam in a few hours and still need to actually sleep. I will be back with plenty of time before the lynch ends though, so shouldn't be an issue.
I looked at her recent Aussie baddie game, and I didn't see too much fence-sitting. More focused reads. Definitely buddied me when I voted like her.
