Contrived, my ass, MP. There's nothign contrived in that post, and it really upsets me that you said that. I wrote that whole thing before even seeing your case about me and Llama.
At least lynch Llama instead. I swear to GOD that he is messing with me with this trust stuff, and he is NOT my partner! Llama today, me tomorrow, don't let him take me down like this.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 3]
Ha ha, linkitis. I'll post it anyway.
I'm looking at Llama. I'm just watching him, not sure what his motives are. Is he trying to make me react a certain way? His unequivocal trust in me is actually a little disconcerting. And it comes after I put forth the theory about you (TH) and Metalmarsh - wherein I laid out why baddies would come forth with their trust in a perceived Civvie. I don't think I need to go through it again, as I recall, I was as detailed as I could be then.
So is Llama... testing me? Is he trying to see if I'll accuse him of being a baddie for it? Is this a test of my commitment to my stated ideals? Is he testing my mental flexibility? Is he a baddie hiding in the open because I would start to look silly if I accused the next 'suspicious truster' of being a baddie as well?
I hope someone else might give some opinions on this, because I'm just not sure what to think or say about Llama, except that he's who I'm looking at right now.
I know you're asking me who I find suspicious, but I'm going to take you quasi-literally and tell you who I'm looking at.Turnip Head wrote:Who're you looking at today, Con?

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 3]
Boogs: A male cat with a penis who still needs to grow balls.
First of all, that "discovery" of a post of mine on Day 0 was underwhelming to me, since I referenced it in my last post:
Not to mention that, in the next paragraph, I presented what the fallout would be from such a plan, and called that lame.
There's no contradiction here, I was involved in the discussion about the no-search plan, and I came away from that discussion with the same opinions I have today. In the interim, I also put forth that it is beneficial to the Civvies to find ONE partner because Civvie BTSC makes it harder for the baddies.
I used the Autofind, and now I am in contact with one member of my group. Even if we end up finding the third member and go rogue, which may never happen, we still won't have a kill. We will still be dedicated to lynching baddies. The baddies still need us dead.
We still need to focus on killing the baddies, who are growing in power all the time by default. The rate at which they grow in power will only increase over time, when we start seeing more people getting access to multiple properties. Suddenly, a 3-member RR team is targeting a player who has three properties... it's just gonna get messy.
Please don't lynch me just because I bought the Autofind. The baddies are probably going to kill me anyway because I got the Autofind, so let's not do their work for them. Let's try to lynch a baddie today, not me, ok Boogs?![Big grin ](./images/smilies/Big%20Grin.gif)

There's no contradiction. I never said, like keys, that we should go ahead with that plan. It's an idealistic plan, and if we could be sure everyone would do it, it might work to get a tighter Civvie win. I made that post in order to give two major reasons why such a plan would not be a good idea: It would go against boo's concept of what Monopoly Mafia is about, AND there's no way everyone would go along with it.Long Con wrote:If you were mixing me up with keys at the start, then I'd understand. Keys pushed hard for not finding partners. What I did was ask questions and try to clarify exactly how the game would go. I never pushed for staying individual, the closest I can find is saying "I would advocate that, except for these reasons..." and I gave my reasons why that's not a good plan, and I called it lame.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 3]
Uh, what? "Go back on my word"? That is a misrepresentation of the facts.Boogs wrote:Exactly and thank you for reminding me of his discussion on partners Day 0. Why would he buy it unless he was preventing others of searching? I know he's a good liar in mafia because he fooled me down to the final vote in Monty Python where he kept me tell the end alive. Either way, I think it should be a vote on him today and it seems like a mafia thing to do by going back on his word for searching.
To answer you though on voting today: I do agree we need baddies but it could be a bonus if they are one of the powerful people. I think it's safe to say mafia members would be bidding on these things just like we would to prevent us as well as have powers to stop us later on for doing things. I think LC and Epignosis could be bad, TH I do not think is bad. I only wanted to vote him for being too powerful. So Epignosis or LC today is okay with me, and from the two i would do LC.
If you were mixing me up with keys at the start, then I'd understand. Keys pushed hard for not finding partners. What I did was ask questions and try to clarify exactly how the game would go. I never pushed for staying individual, the closest I can find is saying "I would advocate that, except for these reasons..." and I gave my reasons why that's not a good plan, and I called it lame.
It's Day Three. I'm sure quite a few people out there have found their partners already, I'm not any better than them just because I used the Autofind prize. Are you going to lynch the winner of the AutoAuctionWin tomorrow? 'Cause that's pretty powerful too. You can just go through the game and keep lynching prize winners for their power, and the baddies can just sit back and kill people and gain REAL power with a fistful of properties.
I am not a baddie, I didn't bid for the Autofind to "keep it out of Civvie hands", I bid for it because it's something worth bidding for. There were one or two people bidding for it right alongside me who just happened to have less excellent timing than me, maybe one of them is this baddie you're looking for. Don't punish me just because I played well and won the auction.

For the record, I don't see any rational reason not to completely agree with Lorab's point. No matter what your difference of opinion is, there are ways of conveying it without deriding the intelligence of a fellow player. It's not hard to craft your words in a way that's not belittling. I don't see any reason why Mafia should include that kind of thing.

I would not take offense at the other part either, I did it once a long time ago, got caught, and I'd like to think I learned my lesson. I'm happy for you that you already have that baddie landmine defused in your own game (at least you claim to), but it's still worthwhile to clarify that it's a point against you that you claimed as a point in your favour.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 2]
Someone buys it and immediately auctions it off to a private and anonymous bidder of their choice. They don't HAVE to sell it to the highest bidder, right? Maybe a private seller can just receive all bids, and choose one person to sell it to (preventing a Railroad or Utitlity from outbidding all Civvies with their wonderful income stream). There's still a chance they could end up selling to a baddie randomly, but at least it would get it out of the hands of the buyer and the baddies would be killing everyone who buys property publicly.Turnip Head wrote:We need to discuss what we're going to do if we lynch a railroad or a utility today and their card is put up for auction.

Also, your reason for thinking I'm a possible Utility inadvertently gave me a new reason to think Civ thoughts of you... if you were a Railroad, and you thought that I (a presumed Utility) learned your role, then the obvious expectation would be that I'd come after you hard for the lynch. But you shared your reasoning after I had already backed off on you to a degree. In other words, your attitude about me being a possible Utility doesn't mesh with what I think a Railroad would be thinking after landing on EC. If that makes sense to you.

So, you think that I'm a railroad who decided to make a public statement of surprised amusement because I couldn't take the guilt of what I was about to do (that is, kill the bid winner)? Like, maybe I thought I should say nothing (and attract no attention), but the guilt was eating me alive already, and I just couldn't help it?Turnip Head wrote:LC doesn't explain his surprised amusement. I'm sure everyone appreciates you telling them how they have to feel. Saves them the trouble of developing their own feelings, what a hassle! :P I did start bidding at first because getting a property seemed really cool. Then I thought about it for a bit and realized that the railroads would just kill the winner, and I stopped bidding... and offered the statement of concern about the subject you quoted above.I mean, look who STARTED the bidding:You have to feel like LC was hoping to incite a bidding frenzy with that stunt...Long Con wrote:Nice result! I bid $1!!
Hmm, well, maybe you should put your reading glasses, grandpa...Then I asked the question that didn't breach SVS or MetalM's cranium:Now sure, I and perhaps others who didn't bid straight away assumed that this might have to be the case - because I thought about what would happen to someone's stuff if and when they died. But I realized that this answer that LC provides here isn't in the thread. Seriously, go look, I'll eat a hat if it's anywhere in the rules that that's what happens when you die. LC knows it though, and so once the bidding commences he can't help but maniacally smirk. LC's answer to that question must have come from boo from behind the scenes. Which makes me think he has a good reason to ask about it.Long Con wrote:The killer gets the extra cards, and your own card.Turnip Head wrote:What happens to any extra cards we win if we get NKed?
A little ketchup and fresh ground pepper might make that hat a little more palatable. Will you post a video of you eating it?boo wrote:Successful NKs will result in the player responsible for the NK getting the card of the killed player.
Third post of the game, three paragraphs from the bottom.
Good point, I was wrong there. They couldn't kill one of their own. So I guess now I'm a railroad who's intentionally getting some thing s wrong about my own role...?Just pointing out that this isn't how it works. The railroads can't be NK'd until they've all found each other. The Short Line bidding war was a win-win for the railroads.Long Con wrote:They'd better hope they're the railroad with the kill, or else they'll kill one of their own. :ofingersplints wrote:Unless whoever wins it is railroad.

Epig seems to be down the most, at -$500, from his big bid on the Chance card (will you let us know when you use it, Ep? Are you using it yourself or someone else? Is it Chance or Community Chest that can send you Directly To Jail? That would be funny.) Then Hedgeowl seems to be down $375, which I believe was the price she paid for the Windfall.
Ha, I just thought of another reason Epig could give for the early big bid. Maybe the baddies will consider him 'closer to bankruptcy' and avoid wasting their nightkill on a player that is so much closer to death.
i was going to correct you as well. I am not good with money irl either.

Also, you DID basically say it's not true, though you didn't explicitly acknowledge that the theory holds some merit based on past Mafia baddie actions.Turnip Head wrote:I didn't pull a No U on you LC. My concern with your tone has nothing to do with you suspecting me for not suspecting Epi. When I get home tonight ill break down my concerns for you if you want.
Metalmarsh, on the other hand, kinda came in, read it and left without saying anything last night, and then he came in today to grab an unrelated statement I made and just flat out imply that I'm lying about it.
I'm still interested to hear your discussion of my tones though. I like hearing about me.

My SS is just keeping track of Players and their overall money change, and another one for Property with overall money change. I'm open to suggestions from better SS-makers than I on a col way to track the game!juliets wrote:Oh yes, she did. There's not a lot going for suspicions for me right now, most people are at an even neutral in my eyes. I am slightly more suspicious of Turnip Head and Metalmarsh due to them both pulling a weak 'no u' when they could have easily just acknowledged that what I said could be true, but it's not.juliets wrote:LC, who is your biggest suspicion at the moment?

I got nothing much against Epig. He got my vote Day One, but he's not my biggest suspicion right now. I don't really want him to be lynched, I'd rather see how his game goes after the start he chose.birdwithteeth11 wrote:Also, LC, what exactly is your case against Epig? I don't really make "intentional choices" about my tone,. I just go with what bubbles up in my head to say. What's different about my tone in your opinion?Turnip Head wrote:LC your tone this game has been completely different from what it was in the recent Dr Who game. Was that an intentional choice you made while playing this game, or does it maybe tell us something about your role this time around?
I think this has been answered, boo did indeed clarify. He also clarified that all the movements take place before the nightkills take place, so Pennsylvania RR's acquisition of Short Line happened after people landed on the Penn RR space last night, therefore it only earned $25 per player. Right?Turnip Head wrote:I want to know how LC knows this to begin with.Long Con wrote:So those payments to Pennsylvania RR are indeed $25 each.
