It's a no. Remember when I said we should yeet Alison to not lose the GoC?

I'm saying don't yeet LC cause he's town.
I would gladly take the yeet here if it meant we could go back in time and listen to you in the GoC. As it is, Syn, what's your beef?

I think JJJ was distancing when he said for a vig to shoot Tony. [VOTE: TSP] aubergine

He was D1. Game state felt like either him or Falcon to be yeeted from my point of view.

Marmot claimed vig now, so hey. But maybe stupid reason to clear him: He immediately followed Invictius on his RVS vote on me. Yeah, Marmot is maybe a player who would do that, most teammates would probably spread votes. But if Marmot is actually vig, then we're golden anyway.
Okay. That runs counter to what LC suggested, so I'd appreciate anyone else giving me a perspective here. It might be an eye-of-the-beholder thing.

If you're town, I hope you'll consider whether you're engaging in confirmation bias. I'm JaggedJimmyJay. I solve. This is how I have replaced into games for years, especially when a mafioso is already confirmed for me to work with -- it's much more useful to me than reading a thread front-to-back and trying to grasp context a week late.

What I would most appreciate is at least a cursory look at my TL;DR conclusions. I am not mafia, and that means much of the prevailing POE is flawed for at least one slot. I have a unique advantage from that posture of being able to solve without dealing with solving JJJ. This means I am likely to derive suspect(s) other people don't have. So let's talk about them. How about Tony -- please tell me what you think of Tony.

I don't remember offhand, just got up and my mind is a little fuzzy, plus the two simultaneous games with a lot of player crossover is deadly to me.
I looked back at Alison's references to Gavial to determine what you're referring to. Is this the post that you're saying felt fake:
Alison wrote: Wed May 12, 2021 10:11 am Gavial is slowly slipping back into his usual meta.
If not, which post? If so, what about this progression is "too obvious", or otherwise is there something contextual that leads you to that assessment of fakeness? I see that your initial view was mafia teammates -- something already debunked. It'd be super to get more clarity on your thought process given new developments.
What new developments? We have confident townreads and a sure red check, and the logic of those things led to the same place that I was already going.

Yes, I said "teammates" first, but now I see that Gavial doesn't need to be her teammate for Alison to act that way in order to fake a progression and pocket an aggressive player. I don't have a complex interconnection of posts that can prove beyond a doubt that I'm right, but I believe it. I felt it.

JJJ's getting cranky. I've gotten a couple of these replies already.

"Thanks for analysis, okay. Still, die."

I don't care about being thanked for doing things. I care about receiving feedback for the actual conclusions I have drawn, whether people agree with me or don't, and what specific points they feel need further discussion or reassessment etc. This is how I mean to incorporate myself into the Mafia game, and if I am not even given that respect then every civilian involved with that treatment is doing the team a disservice. Folks can suspect me without discarding me. That's not okay. I realize not everyone has done so, but at least three players have to my count.
I don't want you to be cranky. If spf was a teammate, her doing the fake outing would render Plat's fishing useless. I also believe spf wouldn't town read Plat first thing on D1 if they were scum together.

Hollow town, Nanook town, LC town. I don't get why Tony is cleared, but he's likely town from trying to distract away from two possible town meets (Falcon and LC) last phase, cause he wouldn't have to do that as scum. Depending on how much scum was threatened, but yeah.

Marmot is probably scum tbh. And could definitely be Alison too. I don't love Alison going for lhf Falcon when she said she could've read him if he stayed in the game. And I didn't love her play overall. I'll check interactions with Plat later, but I think Alison called him town after some other people had done it.

Interaction stuff later. Good job, Gavial. And well played, Plat. You passed me for sure.

I didn't care for it either, which is why I looked into Long Con as a potential save attempt from her. But I came away townreading Long Con, so if she's scum, she probably didn't have much incentive to make that move.

That said, I'm a still slightly torn on Long Con, because fingersplints isn't the kill I would've expected, and Long Con is the first person I would think to do that.
I still see fingersplints as the old friend who didn't play Mafia for years, and has only just recently come back. I would most likely not consider killing her on night 1 for that reason.

gth? town. i don't really know yet, though. it's too early
I think it’s fairly easy to get a pretty strong read there even at this point in thread, right? What’s the reason for caution?
What is your gth reads on everyone then? Most people have a decent amount of content. Should be fairly easy to get a pretty strong read, right? :)
Not everyone’s throwing a tantrum about Nanook. If more people were doing it it’d be nice tbh
What's the point or that? It's just what Nanook wants us to do.

DkKoba wrote: Thu May 13, 2021 5:18 pm LC imma be honest i dont think ur reads are like well founded in good faith - like why is Gavial scum here?

like i say this as I dont want to have to defend you from people eager to lim a slot that is playing poorly and want to in fact help you not play poorly here and cooperate with town and good faith hunt rather than push people who are >rand town lol
What do you mean by "good faith"? I think he could be scum. I thought so earlier, and his zaniness seems too forced.

Dyslexicon wrote: Thu May 13, 2021 4:02 am @DkKoba Your frustration with Nanook is understandable, and something I've seen a lot. But I think leaning into that frustration is a distraction for the game and for you. I don't think it helps solving. Nanook has a history of making players feel exactly this way about his play. If it help, keep this in mind, that Nanook is experienced, but he plays for fun/to chill, and he has actually given some thoughts (although maybe few and not well explained.) If it still pisses you off, I suggest you'd just ignore it. Several people in this game have a history with reading Nanook pretty well. If he doesn't show up for town, he'll get chopped eventually. I get the impatience, but it's not getting us anywhere.
And you could replace Nanook's name with mine in your post and it would be equally, if not more, true. And yet you have a lazy whatever vote on me, and you're Nanook's top apologist in every other post you make. Super fine.

It's a regular thing he does in order to make the game harder for the rest of us for no reason other than bad attitude.

you LITERALLY played aginst scum me and this is vastly different from that game, an initial impression of me being scum is actually extremely odd from that pov.

LC called me out on it in Fargo mafia, and that game he was right and I’ll never hear the end of it. But generally I focus on a few suspicions and am just non committed with my lesser ideas so I don’t think it’s a good tell for everyone.
BAM! I forgot about that, *yet another* piece of evidence that the Player Salad tell is a real one. :feb:

It’s like three hours in that’s a pretty fast redemption arc
That's the way things go these days, like a six-episode miniseries and done.

What do you think this means?
hi

i shouldn't answer for them but i havent interacted with you yet so i will!

if someone chooses to continue fluffing instead of getting involved people find it suspicious as fluff is something scum can hide behind instead of having to engage in the actual content of the game

that said my understanding is nook is pretty experienced and most wolves are self-aware enough to know to get somewhat involved so they don't look bad whereas town are more apathetic to it. it looks similar to my experience with nook so i think it's kinda towny, but i have no idea what his scum game is like.
I do understand that, but LC put that comment out there without giving any real stance on it. For town, could be a genuine thought to explorers. For mafia could be a way to casually start up suspicion on someone who could be an easy lynch. So I was hoping to hear him clarify his thoughts more to see which I believed him to be. :)
I just felt it was, like, a genuine thought to explore - if someone chooses to continue fluffing instead of getting involved people find it suspicious as fluff is something scum can hide behind instead of having to engage in the actual content of the game, you know? However, Invictus could be right, nook is pretty experienced, and most wolves are self-aware enough to know to get somewhat involved. I'm not that great at reading Nanook anyway.
