Rewind back to Battlestar Galactica- in that game I started a long-term posting gimmick in which each game I play has me starting every post in each game with the same letter of the alphabet. BSG was letter A. Spider-verse was letter R. It’s taking me this long because I don’t play very often. People also forget that I am doing it because I play so seldom. Eighteen down, eight to go.

I used to do more obvious gimmicks with my posts- pictures, haiku, magic 8-ball, etc- but this one is a subtle, slow burn. I should put it in my signature, really, but I don’t know if I can link to each game without maxing out my sig character limit.

Every single time, I forget until you reveal at the end, and I'm delighted all over again. Next time, I'm remembering dammit, so I can enjoy it all the way through the game. Assuming there will be a next time, of course - which I do, for the record.

There was nowhere left to hide. The Inheritors could use the captive Weaver's web to go anywhere, any time. The Other, driven mad by the stress of resurrection and the pain and despair of losing so many Spiders, ripped Manga Spider-Man to shreds on sight. Nothing left of the hero he had once hoped to be, the Other had taken over completely.

"This... this can't be happening!" cried Miles Morales. "There must be something we can do, something we haven't thought of..." he turned to Spider-Ham, but was horrified to see Solus standing there instead, tossing the pig's dead husk aside after draining it of life force.

"No!" Miles leapt to attack, but Solus easily caught him by the throat, and was unfazed by his venom blasts and kicks.

"Why do you struggle, little one?" said Solus, almost tenderly. "You thought that you had power, but now you see the truth. You see what real power truly is. Let your heart be at ease, for this reality belongs to us. You have no power, and you no longer need to feel responsible!" With the last word, he tightened his mighty grip and crushed the life from Miles, ending all resistance to the Inheritors' reign.

Seanzie has been assassinated! He was Manga Spider-Man.

The force field was constricting around whoever was trapped within. "Ha HA! The die is cast! We'll kill this one, and then the others, one by one!" cackled Superior Spider-Man.

"We don't know who's in there!" said Spider-Ham. "It could be one of our guys!"

"And Spider-Man doesn't just kill his enemies," said Ghost Spider.

"Says you," muttered Assassin Spider-Man, only to receive a dark smile and fist bump from Spider-Girl.

"You see?" jeered Superior. "It's US, or THEM! And I choose us!" With that, he jabbed a finger at his wrist device, and the force-field contracted, crushing the screaming occupant.

As the energy faded, the Spiders were grimly satisfied to see that it was Bora, and her wicked daggers would fly no more.

Grogu has been eliminated! He was Bora.

Night 5 has begun.

Paranoia had set in in the wake of the Great Feast, where they had lost more Spiders than ever before. A pall of despair hung over many heads, and there was not much for anyone to say.

"These fools have lost their spirit!" muttered Superior Spider-Man to himself as he worked on a device near a portal. "How many times have I lost, how many times have I been humiliated and strung up for all to see?" He webbed the device up alongside some other similar ones. "Bah! Who needs them? These traps should take out an Inheritor or two if they show up again!"

Just then, Spider-Man Noir came bursting through the portal. "Everyone, listen! I have important infor-"

He was cut off suddenly as the traps went off, disintegrating him completely.

"Curses!" shouted Superior Spider-Man, "Why must I always be fated to work alongside dullards?"

Chardonnay has been eliminated! He was Spider-Man Noir.

Night 4 has begun.

The Inheritors feasted well that night. Spider roast, Spider dumplings, and lots of delicious Spider Soup! The Spiders were deflated and hiding away, scared and unsure of what to do next.

The Spiders had found a Safe Zone - Earth-13 was a world where Spider-Man wielded the all-powerful Enigma Force, and no Inheritor would dare enter this world. Or so they thought.

The death of Daemos and Jennix had angered the Inheritor patriarch, Solus, enough for him to come and deal with things himself. He strode through the suddenly-appeared portal, his imposing frame filling the entire gateway as he ducked his head to come through. Huge and menacing, he scoffed at Cosmic Spider-Man as he attempted to defend the heroes.

So fearsome was his power, that he drained the life force energy of the entire Enigma Force, and Cosmic Spider-Man fell to the ground, a drained and brittle husk.

G-Man has been eliminated! He was Cosmic Spider-Man.

Night 3 has begun.

Peter bowed his head momentarily in grief for his clone, Ben Reilly. "That's still a victory. Thank you, Ben."

"It gets better," said Black Widow, "One of them was in there with him when it went down!"

Daemos could sense several Spiders close to him, and he grinned. It wasn't that he was ever *not* hungry, but when the scent was so nearby, it was almost unbearable!

"Now!" A shout caused Daemos to look up in surprise, and in a flash of light, a portal opened beside him. Before he could react, a single shot rang out, and a powerful round shot right into his skull, knocking him into the portal, bellowing with rage.

"Is... is he dead?" asked Lady Spider tentatively.

"If the bullet didn't kill him," responded Assassin Spider-Man confidently, "That portal leads to an Earth where time is slowed to a crawl. A few minutes in there is like a hundred years here. No return, no clone, no problem."

BoKnows has been daykilled! He was Daemos.

Finding a high nook to hide out in, Spider-Man Noir spoke softly into his wrist device. "Did everyone make it out all right?"

I am confused about something that perhaps @Long Con can explain:

We have the screenshot of the Day 1 poll, but that screenshot does not match what the last few vote tag votes in the thread were. What gives? Are the vote tags in the thread accurate? The screenshot says "poll runs through" instead of "poll ended at" but how long before the poll ended was that screenshot taken? Per the screenshot, there was a tie between Tony and reywaS and yet no one seems to be talking about that. Is that because Tony actually secured a true lead in the poll?

I'm trying to put a spreadsheet together and this issue has me confuzzled.

The screenshot is unfortunately an older poll, but I have the info to remake the final poll. It will be replaced soon, please be patient.

"All right," said Peter, looking around at the gathered Spiders, "We need a plan. If these guys are half as nasty as Morlun, we're going to-"

"Yes yes yes," interrupted Superior Spider-man impatiently, "The matter is well in hand already, I don't need any more input! The weapons I have devised will destroy these vampires and end this foolish gathering!"

Spider-man India interjected, dangling upside down from a strand of webbing. "But he," pointing at Peter, "is the only one among us to have actually defeated one of them!"

"Very well!" snapped Superior. "What wisdom do you have to share with us?"

Peter nodded, ignoring the dripping sarcasm. "First off, what assets do we have? You have a weapon, but it's untried. What else?"

"We have these," said Spider-girl, holding up her wrist to show a glowing device, and pointed it to crate a glowing disc of light in the air beside her. "They open portals between universes. We each have one... we're trying to stay one step ahead of the Inheritors, but they seem to find us faster every time."

As if on cue, a deafening crash shook the underground base, and a loud voice echoed from above. "Spiders! I can smell you down there, how gracious of you to to gather together... like a buffet!"

"Daemos!" screeched Spider-Monkey, his fur standing on end. "Everyone scatter!"

Spider-girl quickly snapped a wrist device onto Peter. "You saw how this works, right? We can communicate with these as well, just go!"

Just then, the ceiling came crashing down as three Inheritors came through. Their speed was frightening as they attacked, grabbing TonyStarkPrime before they could make it through a portal.

"Tony, no!" cried Silk, turning back to help.

"No, it's too late!" 6-Armed Spider-man grabbed her and threw her through a portal, before jumping through one himself.

TonyStarkPrime has been eliminated! He was Spider-man: India.
