I watched an episode, then sat alone and reflected on how I just wasted 20 minutes that I could of spent volunteering for charity, exercising, talking to my family, benefiting mankind, and instead watched a kid's show about cartoon ponies. Why the fuck is it so popular? The animation is some garish, hellish drug trip into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. The plot is nothing special, except for I think that the white princess horse or whatever is a psychotic dictator. She turned on her own fucking sister. And for that matter, where are all the humans? Did Princess Hitler-Horsey kill them? How the fuck does the annoying brat pony have fucking magic? Why the fuck is there a dinosaur, who is apparently Purple Brat's slave? Were the dinosaurs put into concentration camps? The most unpleasant part were the characters. The southern stereotype on had me wanting to turn her into glue within 5 seconds of meeting her. All of this aside, I could see how it could be a decent show for children. Hell, if I had a kid I'd let her watch it. But for adults, there's nothing fucking there. This doesn't mean I have anything against anyone who like the show, I just really, really, really, (x25) don't get it.

Re: [NIGHT 5] Super Meat Boy Mafia

Something that worries me quite a bit: Rezzes

Epi came back to life a night after his original death. Since there's nothing in the role descriptions about rezzes (though is it possible that Tim can do this via his "time shifting"? Or is that an evasive power?), I began to wonder if his resurrection had something to do with the Day 0 poll votes. It seemed likely to me that by voting "Meatloaf", Epi was forced to post in song lyrics all day. Something happened to Wrath (for voting Bacon) as well before I took over, but it seems that already passed. And I have an idea that Jigsaw was allowed to search 3 levels for voting "Meat Boy", as he was the only one to vote this option.

So is there a chance there was 1 rezz given for a certain option in that poll? And if so, what are the odds that any baddies may have voted that option and still have some at their disposal. That would make this hill even tougher to climb before they're finally dead & gone. :(

Re: [DAY 5] Super Meat Boy Mafia

I don't have bad feelings about Eloh. I've developed a notion of her general playstyle over the course of this game and the last one she was in, the "compliance" doesn't read as something nefarious to me. I would say that she gives me the strongest civ impression, after myself of course. I remarked earlier that I regret my early Hedge suspicion, I'm inclined to trust her right now as well.

After that, it's a toss-up with everyone else. Not warranting my trust, but I'm not confident enough to take lives from certain people either. If this push for me leads the polls in an hour or so, I'll fall on my own sword because I don't want to be wrong about anyone else and sap civ lives. K? But if it's boomslang in the lead, I'll go that route too.
Also odd that she cites picking apart my posts as a valid reason to reach a conclusion about someone she's never played with when that exact same reasoning didn't fly with her when I gave it re: Mongoose and Llama. Just some asides...
Still no response to this, Lizzy.

I do think attention should be payed to her, and I mentioned Jigsaw and Llama earlier as well. Llama read civ at first to me, and now he's in the middle of the pack. Jigsaw has been ridiculously quiet for someone who received so much attention yesterday, but I have nothing to go on with him/Devin either.

I really don't feel comfortable with the "Fetus can't be killed yet, so he's taking his own lives" assumption. I stil think remaining lives could factor into the equation for him and his target during Chapter 6.

Also, the portion of your post that I didn't quote comes across as massively jokey-overdefensive, and I'm saying this as the king of getting lynched for those kinds of posts. :p

Re: [DAY 5] Super Meat Boy Mafia

Guys, Chapters 2 and 3 were a cakewalk. In fact, Chapter 3 has the lowest potential for civvie death out of them all, plus the possibility of saving Brownie. We still have 2 extremely dangerous Chapters to go before the "Final Showdown".
• Little Horn – A giant shadow monster from Hell that resembles Meat Boy, this villain grows strength from the failure of others. When the players are in Chapter 4: Hell, Little Horn selects a target every night to attack. Little Horn's speed starts as normal, but grows faster with every player's death; similarly, his attack grows more powerful with every player's fatigue.
And considering a lot of players have lost lives, Little Horn's attack might be pretty potent.
• Larries Lament – A collective of three giant maggots that burrow in the ground, waiting for prey to attack. When the players are in Chapter 5: Rapture, Larries Lament selects anywhere from one to three targets every night to attack. Each of the three maggots is very slow, but combined they can do lethal damage.
I only played Super Meat Boy a couple of times, but on both of those occasions, these little f*ckers killed me every time. Not to mention, they'll be able to target 3 players at a time if they so choose (again, dangerous since many of us have taken damage from lynches).

So, why are we having the discussion, "Fetus is purposely burning searches until Chapter 6" vs. "Fetus is inactive"? There's clearly a middle ground between these two options and it's here now. The player controlling Fetus could easily take up hiding again now that we're in the game's most treacherous waters (and still divided, I might add).

Re: [DAY 5] Super Meat Boy Mafia

Aw, bye Rose! :( and wb, Mongoose! :)

HOST: Will we be informed of what Mongoose's previous role was? Doubtful, but curious.

Ok, so at least one of these is accurate:

1. Fetus has continued to be inactive

2. Brownie is dead

3. Fetus is within the following group - Llama, Lizzy, or Jigsaw

If 1, then obviously not 3, and 3 does not necessarily mean 1 as far as night activities go. And 2 could be associated with either as well. I do think it's interesting that Lizzy assumed I was coached when there is no official wording in the OP about BTSC among the villains. Sure, it could be a safe guess to make, or she could already know the details of the villain team. Regardless, I know I would ask in the thread before I accuse someone of anything. Also odd that she cites picking apart my posts as a valid reason to reach a conclusion about someone she's never played with when that exact same reasoning didn't fly with her when I gave it re: Mongoose and Llama. Just some asides...

How can someone who has only recently registered on the board know about Llama and Mongoose, and thus the possibility of Llama being framed when Goosey was NK'd on night 2, unless someone has been telling him about in the chat?
I didn't think any statement could have less than 0% logic to it, but there ya go.

Why would I need to be familiar with the players (I've played with Mongoose at least once before this, iirc) to understand their back-and-forth in THIS thread and the possible circumstances of one baddie role killing one of those players?

And obviously you're not familiar with my playstyle, so why assume anything about me or the way I want to play the game?

I see where self-voting would work for Tofu Boy, but why would it help a baddie? Unless you think Vomps is Fetus and is just bouncing off his own immunity, which seems counterproductive.
Wait... What?? How would self-voting work for Tofu Boy? I assume his lives work the same as anyone else's. Plus I would assume he would have the least amount of lives in the game...
He's got "suicidal" in the role description, yo? I think it's safe to assume he's gotta benefit somehow from getting hurt.
I don't know what clinics you're hanging out at, but I don't know anyone who has ever benefited from being suicidal. That's far from a "safe" assumption.

Furthermore, I was referring to Tofu Boy on the civ side, and Little Horn on the baddie side. Look at the role:
• Little Horn – A giant shadow monster from Hell that resembles Meat Boy, this villain grows strength from the failure of others. When the players are in Chapter 4: Hell, Little Horn selects a target every night to attack. Little Horn's speed starts as normal, but grows faster with every player's death; similarly, his attack grows more powerful with every player's fatigue.
1. Another reason why we shouldn't be divvying up votes and continuing to make ourselves weaker over time.

2. Little Horn is a player. His attack grows more powerful with every player's fatigue. Voting for himself would increase his fatigue. Couldn't this make his attack more powerful?

HOST: Can you tell us if Little Horn's fatigue will also contribute to his attack power? Is he considered a "player" for the purposes of this role description?

I wasn't referring to Fetus at all. Personally, I don't think Fetus or Bandage Girl are just hanging back and happy to lose lives just because they can't die in the polls. I've considered the possibility that remaining lives will come into play during the "Final Showdown", and thus, Fetus would probably want to make sure he's stocked up. Surprised nobody else has thought about this.

Also, mayormaynot:

Not verbatim, as I think you'd be using the word "bandwagon" in a broad sense.

I think a lynch of Hedge would, at best, lynch a baddie. Worst case scenario, it would produce some very likely candidates for future lynches in my mind.

Either is better than watching players killed off night by night as we all slowly lose lives in the daylight, making it easier for truly effective bandwagons to form in the long run.

Villains (4)

Dr. Fetus – The game’s antagonist, Dr. Fetus, is truly evil. Every night, he hides Bandage Girl within a level that he has engineered to kill or confuse his enemies; he must choose which level by the end of each day period. If she is found, he flees to another world, altering the landscape of the game. When the players are in Chapter 1: The Forest, Dr. Fetus selects a target every night to chase in his Lil’ Slugger. When the players are in Chapter 3: The Salt Factory, Dr. Fetus selects a target every night for Brownie to race. Once Chapter 6: The End is reached, Dr. Fetus chooses a player to face in the final boss battle at his castle. Until then, Dr. Fetus cannot be killed.

You have 30 hours instead of 24 in this period to get the timing back to something that works for me. Therefore, the Night 3 period will end at roughly 6:10PM EST. From that point forward, I should be able to keep the times consistently in the evening.
Cool! Thanks for the extra time! :)

I'm going to the Warp Zone stemming from level 15 tonight. If anyone wants to follow, be my guest; and if I disappear from the poll tomorrow, it could lend some insight as to whether Hedge's removal was intentional or not.

Flash Fact: There used to be a bar back west called "The Hops-ital"; I played there a couple of times. No idea if it's still there, but it was a fun little place.

Ahaaaa... well then, I suppose you won't mind if I cast a vote your way. You know, just in case. :mafia:
If you'd like to contribute to Llama's "vote-spread" idea that was deemed so foolish, then be my guest.

*looks at poll*

Oh, you already did. Erm...well...carry on! :D

So this caveat has lost your interest, I take it?:
Besides Llama and Hedgie, I have Elo left. So unless she decides to stop being evasive, and give a reasonable reply to my post, I'll be voting for her today.

Oh did you? How come? ...and how are you familiar with the dynamics between the two since you've only recently joined the site? ... unless someone in your chat has been filling you in. :mafia:
I put in work, read the thread, and came to a conclusion as most people do when they play...?

I'm new to the site, and I may be rusty since it's been a while, but I'm not new to the nuances of the game. Fwiw, Llama's style reminds me very much of a civ game that GrinningTurtle played on Lostpedia. Very aggressive, very bizarre, sometimes suspicious, but a civvie role nonetheless. And if I'm wrong, I have both a hat and a mouth at my disposal.

INH, something that has caught my attention (other than your overall diatribe): You were very unrelenting in pursuing Llama for his faulty logic (re: lynch 1 voting). However, I haven't seen much accountability for the following:

Yes, you are allowed.
Should we try and coordinate our searches?
There's 14 of us, 15 if you count the Indie role. There's either 20 or 22 levels in the game. (Host - Does the first yellow square count as a level? What about the skull square? If Bandage Girl is found in a level, will we find out what level she was hidden in, or who found her?) If the latter is right, we could use this as a tool.
Which eventually led to the accusation that said strategy was very counter-intuitive since the baddies could simply lie about their choices. Now, I actually don't particularly care whether I make my level choices public or not, nor do I think anyone concerned about the publicizing is wrong in their hesitation. However, what I do find unusual is how quiet you were when the negative comments started pouring in concerning this strategy that you took part in conceiving.

Based on that, I think I will be taking one of your lives via my vote today. It's admittedly not my favorite reason to vote for someone that I've ever had, but there's not much else to go on. Also, something about your heavy-handed aggressiveness earlier in the thread didn't seem all that sincere. For someone who plays Mafia, I should really be better at reading people, haha.

Plus, I'm not counting out the possibility that Fetus's spare lives could come into play during the "final showdown" thing. So whoever is playing as him might not want to draw votes just because they know they'll survive in the short term. :ponder:

Why not? I don't see anything in the villain roles that indicates being taken off the poll. In fact, where the hero roles have some vague abilities, the villain role descriptions are decidedly explicit.
Well there are a couple roles I could see being removed from the poll if their lives got low enough early on. One is a civ and the other is bad. And then there's the possibility that she has been saving up a lynch removal reward from the day 0 poll? Keeps a Villain safe for 1 more day while other players will lose lives just from having votes cast against them.

It's a situation that looks more insidious and desperate than helpful, imo.

Linki: interesting, though I disagree. :p If I'm wrong and you're right, I owe you a Coke.

Double linki: wtf @Llama? Do you think the villains NKed their own and wasted a rezz in an elaborate plot to give him credibility? I'll admit the thought crossed my mind, but it was too farfetched for even me to post tbh.

Re: [DAY 3] Super Meat Boy Mafia

INH was on my shortlist as well a few posts ago. His vehement opposition to Llama has me thinking this over though.

@Epi: Granted, the nature of this particular game requires a different sense of thought and reflection (though I wouldn't say more or less than any other one), but I feel that not following through on an initial suspicion will only make it easier for the Villains to dominate the polls in later stages.

The removal of Hedge from the poll does not do her any additional favors in my eyes, if I might add.

I don't believe Vol ever responded to me after the self-vote either, my question still stands.
