Sucks that I disappeared as long as I did. Maybe I could have spearheaded some more cases in that time, but ah well.
Cool game, MP! I enjoyed all the paranoia immensely when I was around.

As an involved and participating player, is this your admission of guilt?thellama73 wrote:The difference is that ordinarily the teams are assigned randomly, so modkilling low-posters is an equal opportunity punishment. In this case, it was heavily biased towards one team, which I don't think is fair. He killed like 9 in one day, I think, back at TP. You don't vote, you lose.
As the person who has made low posters his crusade, you more than anyone should get this. It isn't the hosts fault, it's the people who did not vote, etc.
Did you catch this in your read, Llama?Kylemii wrote:i have not fought yet, but i am apprehensive about doing so at this point in the game. i feel like I'd probably die.
so i'm going to vote for someone else, someone who hasn't won any fights
I like your assessment of his Day 1-Day 4 shift, but that leads me to believe he may have been recruited between then, not that he's Tyler.thellama73 wrote:MR, what do you think of my case against Kyle? Anything to it, or am I imagining things?
This post stands out to me a lot more now. I am definitely interested in hearing a response from Black Rock, even if Bea is no longer with us. Black Rock's post previous to this one was very noncommittal and did leave Kyle out of the conversation to a degree I'm not comfortable with.bea wrote:I would like to know how MR was less explanatory than kyle. Also - if LC does turn up bad then you think your vote for MR is poor? And you should supect kyle, llama and timmer instead?
If LC turns up bad then I am wrong, but by my read of the thread it doesn't seem very likely.
I'm confused by this statement. where exactly are you wrong again? And why do you think you are most likely not wrong? I've not seen anything from you that speaks of evidence of anything.
Again - just because LC is in the hot seat so people are expecting you to comment, you take the most noncommital spot you can take. Because I also get this - you've not got your read yet there. Maybe? And it's about time peeps are going to start asking you.
But why MR over Kyle? llama and timmer have both worked the eff out of this thread - the nonparticipants are kyle and MR. This is interesting to me. Like lots. I'd love a complete breakdown of every thought you've had while reading everying. Please do that BR. (I know that's crap btw. but still I'd love it!)
@ LC - I'm sorry if you are a civ - outside of llama where else would you have us look? And I KNOW svs and others will be around so y9ou know things can turn...yet..
This isn't too far off from what I was considering with Kate and finding the recruits first. Hmm, could be and would make more sense, as twisted as it would be to do.Canucklehead wrote: Crazy theory that I KNOW is going to get me lynched:
I think in order to kill Tyler, we need to lynch the narrator.
There's a second part to that, but I think I would be violating rules by posting anything from that PM and do not want to do that.S~V~S wrote:The civs started out as "survive to the end", iirc from my role PM.
This plays into why I have a weak opinion that Kate may have been Tyler. Idk.MovingPictures07 wrote:Night 4: A Twist No One Expected
It is now Day 5. The game has entered its true phase. All roles have been updated appropriately.
All unrecruited Civilians are no longer independent. They are aligned with "Narrator" and must need Tyler Durden dead to win.
You have 48 hours to lynch "Tyler Durden" or one of his cronies. Good luck.[/b]
I punched him right off of the poll?!thellama73 wrote:Is keterman supposed to be off the poll? I thought we could lynch him even when he was wounded. Not that I would, but still.
timmer wrote: Let's look at the numbers.
17 players left. Night 8. Tyler has had the chance to recruit 7 times. Two recruits are dead. So I'd say Project Mayhem should equal 6 people right now including Tyler. They will recruit again tonight, going back to 7 members. They will likely try to kill someone tonight. So they will have 7 out of 16 if successful. Let's say they throw Keterman to the wolves and he's lynched. Now they are 6 out of 15. Then they recruit and kill BOOM 7 out of 14 players left. End of the game.
That last part is a lot of supposing, but the key to me is that bullz a) just called Long Con a frustrated civ, b) he was in the same fight club as both DH and Long Con early on, c) the only other player who WAS in those fight clubs voted Long Con early in the lynch, d) I don't think Keterman can be Tyler, though he is very likely a recruit.
Thoughts?

If Tyler is a powerhouse of a role, it could compensate to limit his recruits' knowledge who he is and their communication, but that's neither here nor there. Everyone was just running rampant with speculation at the time I posted that, as I'm sure you saw.Spacedaisy wrote:I think I skipped one thing in my reading catch up. Why are we is cussing how the baddies might utilize BTSC? Why would it be anyway other than the norm for these games, I mean I have only ever seen chat rooms for the most part. Or is this a question about how/if BTSC works/exists for the recruits and Tyler? It would seem pretty disabling to the baddies to not allow them BTSC if you ask me. I can't see Alex crippling a team this way...Mister Rearranger wrote:^Glad to see you again as well, Russ!
See, I'm just of the opposite perspective. Eliminating BTSC between a baddie team essentially makes them all SKs for the purposes of in-thread behavior. Personally, I tend to have a better track record with suspecting solo baddies; however, I can never convince enough other players to believe me lol
I like SVS's notion of a baddie leader that simply PMs anonymous instructions to his cronies, regardless of if it's true or not. Just sounds like it'd be a cool role and make for an entertaining game.
You voted for me?!juliets wrote:Very interesting LC. I see you took part of my vote post but didn't bother to take the whole thing because well, it looks stupider the way you chose to represent it. There is no context or comment. I wonder how many of the other vote posts you cut off part of the reason. Would a civ do that? Or an unrecruited policeman? I don't know, I'll sleep on it. And just for the record, here is the entire part of the post that had to do with my vote:
I do not have strong feelings about anyone this lynch. It just feels like an impossible task to me to find Tyler right now. There are some things I need to read through again I just dont have time before this lynch. Boogs already has votes calling him out for not being present in the game and I'm going to vote for Mr. Rearranger to prompt him to come out of the shadows and discuss or theorize or do anything frankly. I don't understand the change in him from the first part of the game to the second. I thought about voting Lea but I'm not quite ready to commit to her.
So Mr. R, where have you gone and would you please come back to the game?
votes Mr. R
Was the bolded directed at me? Because the post of mine you quoted didn't mention anything about "being active". Or was that for juliets's thing about possibly missing a PM?Sorsha wrote: From what I remember someone just asked "how are fights determined? is it random?" and MP answered that its not random. I'll have to go and find the situation and see.
I do not know why I won my fight. As far as the "being active" bullz and I were both pretty active in the thread before/during our fight. Its not like either of us was a no show/on poster and we were both volunteering.
Or whatever fight was being referenced when he was asked. To be clear you are not certain why you won your fight? Do you have reason to think you should have lost?Sorsha wrote:Oh you mean like he was talking about your fight specifically not being random?
Perhaps you were in a similar boat as Unfurl then, who said she's unsure of how she won?Sorsha wrote:No, that wasn't what made me think that. Somewhere in one of the threads someone asked how the winners were decided/if it was random and iirc correctly MP said it was not random.
So if its not random than something has to be deciding the outcome. It isn't apparent in the thread what it deciding it so...... it must be something btsc.
No, just making my opinion known. We can discuss my opinion that focusing too much on a conspiracy theory is a bad idea, if you'd like?Sorsha wrote:So we aren't supposed to discuss theories? Sorry... My bad I guess.
What? I think a few people who have fought can infer what they want about what MP said, but starting conspiracy theories about Tyler and his sugarhill gang* having a say in things isn't going to help much. It leads us down a winding road of looking way too much into who the winners of previous fights were and distracts from in-thread behavioral study. Then again, everybody susses out baddies in their own way, and I'm certainly no pro at it.Sorsha wrote:I think participating in the fight does have something to do with it, but there is something else too. MP has said it's not random who wins and who loses so something is happening btsc to determine winners.birdwithteeth11 wrote:Basically, I had a theory. And now I'm not entirely sure if it's true or not. So I'm looking to see if others feel there might be a point to it or not.
And like I said, at some point today, I am going to do a re-read on unfurl to see if I can get anything else out of it. If I don't find anything else, I'll probably drop my theory. Because it's already fairly flimsy as it is.
I figured it also had to do with other things like experience, coin-flippities, or what-have-you, but your guess is just as good as mine.Sorsha wrote:So nobody has any comment about my theory up above there? About how fights might be decided?
We're just going to hem and haw about whether or not the baddies have btsc? I just wanted to know if the host had addressed whether they did or not and he answered that for me.
Good point, very "man behind the curtain" kind of approach.S~V~S wrote:The only way I could see it working for Mayhem without BTS would be if maybe Tyler knew who they were, and could send directions or something like in the movie. You never know who might have been in Project Mayhem in the movie, it could be the guy sitting next to you on the train. Only Tyler know who everyone was.
So this could be a plausible scenario~ but the whole point of Mafia is the uninformed majority against the informed minority. So based on similarity to the movie, it is possible, but only if Tyler can direct the recruits in some way.
