I think he is purposefully avoiding discussion. I know I haven't been the most vocal, but I feel like I've tried to do my best to explain what's asked, and I don't feel like he is doing that. Whenever someone shrugs off little suspicion it always gets my eye, because I think most civvies are eager to defend the littlest things while baddies tend to brush it off in hopes it disappears.

I'm probably voting Bass. I feel alright about the Wilgy vote though. like I said this seems more like his baddie game vs what I saw when I hosted him. I was hoping to reread the game this reminds me most of (90's Mafia on jtm) but haven't had a chance to, and seems it probably won't be necessary at this point.
If you're okay with a Wilgy vote, I would prefer if you vote that way today.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9

Golden, I suggest you consider taking my thoughts at face value and not looking for the worst. I was not being intentionally misleading with my thoughts on the doctor. I would not have said anything about the doctor until you point blank asked me. My point was that I have no fucking idea who or of which alignment he is, I think he could be a role of any alignment, and I think a player of any alignment would target me with their role given the chance. I was not being misleading when I answered your question, you are welcome to read the original World Apart thread on LP yourself. Drezenstein was effectively the most powerful civilian in the game and had a lot of tools at his disposal to take out baddies. If you think he's bad, well I'm not saying he cant be, but it has nothing to do with me. And to say that a player who was publicly targeted with unknown effects by a role of unknown alignment is a bigger threat than what is potentially a fully complete baddie team, I don't know where to start refuting that logic. It is baseless and rooted in speculation.

Is there you're someone you're suspicious of because of how they're playing?

I have more to address I am sure, but I am still trying to get the PC fully operational , so will be back later. For now I am voting Floyd because self preservation + he doesn't seem to want to play. I also could consider a vote for bass, who I have a break to let him get caught up earlier when I questioned him, but hasn't done anything to make me feel better about him.
splintsy, maybe you're having internet problems, I will take you at your word there. But internet problems did not stop you from posting three times yesterday about how you thought the beacon was interesting. Your internet was working then, so you had an opportunity to be engaged in the game, but only chose to talk about how you think the beacon is interesting. And when I know that you struggle to be engaged as a baddie from past experience, that concerns me.

You and SVS voting for Floyd "because he wants out" does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy either. When did we start lynching people because they want to be replaced?

Golden wrote:Do you have any idea who is on the circle of decay team? Who do you suspect of being bad who you think is most likely to be on that team rather than Luke/Juliets team?
I don't have splints tied to a particular team but I think she might be bad. There's more evidence for Bass being on the juliets team but I think he could be on either one, because either way I think his contributions smell baddie.
Golden wrote:I haven't really seen you pursue the 'who is Dr Dre' angle much. Do you feel you have any more you could share on what ideas you have about who this could be? Do you think the role is more likely bad or indy (or even civ?)
I haven't been sure what to think about him, but I thought I remembered him being a civvie in the original World Apart, so I went to LP to check, and here's his role description:
World Apart wrote:Dr. Von Dreszen – The Doctor has BTSC with Silver Golem and Jimmy. Dr. Von Dreszen sends in the Silver Golem kill PM. Keeper of the life-gem that animates the Silver Golem.

Each night, Dr Von Dreszen will choose one person to abduct into his laboratory, to experiment on in the name of Science. (Yup, he's still on the Good Guys team, he just has questionable priorities when it comes to 'the greater good' - he believes his experiments will help to eliminate evil and suffering from the land.)
The Golem is also in this game though and looks like an indy, so there's nothing to say the doctor is a civvie in this game as well. I just don't really know who it is and haven't devoted much of my time to figuring it out. I know of three players that were in the area but there could have been more. I think if he's a baddie then we'll get him eventually, but he hasn't experimented on anyone lately, so it could have been Typh.
Golden wrote:If bass was off the table, who would be your most likely vote today?
splints, and I might vote that way anyway. Take a look at her post history and also the things I pointed out about her word use. I think splintsy gets accused of being blendy a lot when she's a civ, but that usually includes her sharing her thoughts. But here I think she's intentionally trying to fly under the radar and avoid attention. All she wanted us to know was that she thought the beacon was interesting.

Not talking just to talk. Just recapping a bit on everything I had just read. Idk what to make of it, and I wish I had a better term to describe it then that, but I like to use interesting :p I think that someone should check it out. Not sure how much there is to speculate on it until we can figure out more though.
splintsy, the first embedded quote is the first post from you in roughly five days. Because your only observation was that the beacon sounds interesting, I accuse you of talking just to talk, and you respond with the underlined.

Your recap "on everything [you] had just read" only includes saying rip to the two recent deaths, and saying that you think the beacon sounds interesting. Those are things that had only just happened, and you hadn't posted in five days.

I believe one of two things is true. Either you really did get caught up on all that you've missed and came out of it with no new suspicions, or you were already caught up and just not contributing.

I have two clear thoughts so far. The first is that I can see a scenario where Dr Wilgy is bad and on the Cabal and they set up his 'death' knowing the night wouldn't count for cred. My impression from TH, and it was backed up somewhat when I asked about it in the thread, is that this is exactly the kind of gambit Wilgy would enjoy. It seems up his alley.

The second is that I get the feeling that tranq may know more about his death than he can expressly say. I get the sense that he has been honest in his suspicions about who killed him. Tranq, you may have answered this already, but do you know why/how you came back to life? I don't think Tranq is on the circle of decay, and he was killed by the Cabal, so that would seem to clear him... unless the Cabal wasted a kill knowing he would rezz (for cred reasons). Which seems unlikely to me.

So, I might vote floyd to see if tranq is right. :noble:

I'm going to listen to what people have to say about others too.
Golden, your DrWilgy suspicion assumes the Cabal is responsible for the restarted Night. Why assume this? Isn't it more likely a non-Cabal restarted the Night?
What, you mean just based on the odds? You have a point.

Here is the thing... Wilgy 'asked' in the thread to be killed that day. I feel like Wilgy, at least, knew about the restarted night. The whole thing read weird to me.
Wilgy doesn't remind me at all of how he played in Recruitment IV, the only other game I played with him (he was civ). He was jokey and OT in that game, but he still had solid contributions. He doesn't seem to be taking this game seriously. His post history is sparse on content, OT or otherwise.

C'mon mang I can't hold your hand. Look at her posts from the past couple of cycles and tell me if it feels like a civvie in danger, or a baddie lying just low enough until she can squeak by with some vote trickery.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 7

For me, it's more what juliets isn't saying rather than what she is. Since she's been a prime suspect, she's become very quiet, only answering questions directed at her and voting for her competition. It's just not what I expect from a civvie juliets, I think she would want to be more involved in making sure she isn't mislynched and helping us find a baddie.

Then there's the fact that she should have been lynched over Canuck and wasn't. juliets claims she doesn't know what happened and did not expect to survive the lynch, but I simply don't believe her. I think her posts would look a lot different if she truly expected to die there.

I wonder if he'll know we're talking about him if we don't use his name.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 7

I would like to lynch juliets by a landslide today.

Affinity for Luke, vote for Nutella, Tranq's convenient death, coached-sounding comments...

Although I am starting to think there may be something to the Juliets case, if for no other reason than she's somehow gotten out of being lynched despite being the top discussion point for this long. Still, I feel more strongly about Floyd.
I think Floyd's affinity for Luke stems from outside of the game where they are RL friends. In my opinion the case on Luke wasn't that strong in the first place so I'm not condemning Floyd for not voting for his buddy there. I think it would be a coincidence if they were teammates. I wouldn't call Tranq's death convenient for Floyd if it ended up making him a suspect... Tranq was really the only one on Floyd's case, and no one was listening to Tranq. You don't think it could be a setup?

I think he looks bad for how cavalierly he moved his vote off of juliets in a close lynch. I think Bass looks just as bad for similar reasons, because he said Canuck and juliets were both worth lynching but chose Canuck over juliets with no added justification for doing so.

Sorry for missing the vote. Somehow I escaped the Keys alive and in one piece.
