I believe Misa's role was left intentionally ambiguous by the Host so that we wouldn't know what happens to the Death Note after she forfeits it.

So I guess we don't know specifically who Misa's Death Note is given to when she relinquishes it? I had been thinking it would go to Higuchi (because that's what happens in the show and it's also what happens when Light relinquishes his in this game) but I suppose it's possible that it could go to Light. The answer isn't in her role description :-/

Also if Light and Misa had one Death Note and BTSC, but Mikami or Higuchi had the other Death Note we would still only see one NK per night (from Higuchi or Mikami).

There's only two Death Notes currently in circulation, but there has been no more than one NK each night. Misa didn't get her Death Note until Day 3 (and if we make reasonable assumptions from L's message, she might have just recently relinquished hers). It's possible that something happened to Light's Death Note before Day 3: if it was reclaimed by Sidoh and given to Mello, it could explain why so few kills have been attempted by the Kiras.

Or they've been saving up a bunch of kills and they'll all happen at a later date, a bloodbath of carnage. That would suck.

FZ, we have gotten the "No one has been killed by Kira" message every Day that hasn't started with an immediate kill. It's happened almost every time. It's not a new occurrence.

I'm optimistically hoping that Mata is Misa, and if that's true, L will already know that she gave up the Death Note to avoid dying, and can hopefully relay that information to us.

But if the Death Note did not change hands today, then I think Mata is Rem, and Rico is Misa. If that's the case... no, he would not be lynchable the first time we tried. We would have to lynch him and force him to give up the Death Note to save himself. L would be alerted at that time, and then we could try 3 Days later once he has lost his lynch immunity.

I've already talked about how often Rico has interacted with Mata (nearly nil). For anyone curious about how often Mata has mentioned Rico, here's the answer.

On Day 2, Matahari mentioned a slight suspicion of Ricochet for calling into question how genuine his suspicion of Snowman was. Here is that post in full:

In that post she named people she trusts, people she doesn't trust, people she's on the fence about, and people she has no opinion of. Rico falls into the latter group, and I'll quote the relevant part of Mata's post here:

So Mata and Ricochet had no interaction between Days 2 and 6. Mata has mentioned Rico's name a few times, but the Day 6 mention is hidden within a post where Matahari discussed the majority of the remaining players, and is only a passing mention lumped together with other players she feels similarly about. As I've previously stated, Rico has no mentions of Matahari until today, except to respond to her Day 2 post about him.

So, I wonder to myself, what happened after Day 2 that they suddenly would not run into each other in the thread after that?

This is interesting to me Rico, because I read through all of your posts, and not once in this whole entire game had you even mentioned Matahari's name until today. And the first time you mention support of voting for Matahari is in this very post, after FZ has accused you of being Mata's teammate if she flips bad.

You did not react to any case made against Matahari, not even a passing acknowledgment of any cases or points against Mata. You did not question her about anything. You did not accuse her of anything. You did not mention Matahari's name at all, even as others were discussing her. Your first interaction with Matahari in the entire game is here, and that can hardly even be considered an interaction with her, because all you did was quote Misa's role secrets to answer Mata's (completely disingenuous, if you want my opinion) question about the baddies gaining BTSC.

So no Rico, I don't believe you would have supported a vote for Mata at all. Your posts certainly don't reflect it.

With MP's clarification, I believe that it's 4 jules.

• Near finds Kira and Matsuda is alive and at least half the players are dead.
• Near finds Kira and Matsuda is alive but too many players are still alive, or Near finds Kira and Matsuda is dead (these are the same thing I believe, but again... it could be ambiguous as to whether MP agrees with me here).
• Mello finds Kira.
• All Kiras die.

Although... Matsuda's role has it worded differently. His role states that only half the players can be alive when Near finds Kira. Near's version of the scenario requires no such condition. So now I don't know.

Okay, Matsuda ending it and Near ending it with Matsuda are redundant. It should be 4.

Matsuda can end it, Near can end it with Matsuda (instant detective win) or without Matsuda (possible detective win), Mello can end it, or we can kill all the Kiras. That's 5. Somebody check my work before they answer though. I'm not sure if Near's two scenarios counts as 2, but it should.

I think this goes without saying, but if the Death Note changed hands in response to Mata's imminent lynching, I'm sure L will include that in his gossip post tomorrow if he's able to. And then we'll know if we need to lynch Mata again in 3 Days or not.

So it's either 3 or 4.

I guess Mikami could have been killed.
