Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 2]

Dyslexicon wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2020 12:29 pm I know some people think it's dumb to do connection analysis, but it's pretty much the only thing I got now. I don't get anywhere if I just think about one player at the time, cause I can usually argue both sides then. I don't feel I have enough grasp on most people's meta.

So I'm just putting this out there in case it becomes useful for later.
- Turnip has only critical things to say about Radish. Yet he ends up on the Nut wagon on D1 with the insistence of "We should stay the course" on her. He's also said D2 that he could still vote Radish. But he isn't. Right now he wants to build a Jack-Wagon.
- Turnip has absolutely no interaction with SVS at all, apart from saying "Hi, it's an honor to be playing with you again." He also removed SVS from my maybe-town-list, but I have no idea why, since he has not mentioned SVS at all.
- I already spoke about the possible Radish/sabie-connection. Not sure on this.
- Not sure on SVS as well tbh.

For future reference if Radish or someone flips scum.

I really really really really dislike his flip flop on how he read me and Nutella. He declared me a wolf and Nutella one we should follow after the two of us started battling. Then like 12 hours later, I was town and Nutella was scum because I read her perfectly.

His argument for Nutella being scum exists in its entirety at the time he expressed a strong townread on her. His read change does not come from a town perspective. It comes from a scum perspective mimicking townplay, ie trusting Jack's Nutella read.
Why would baddie Mac express a strong townread on nutella and then flip flop just as soon? Why would a bad guy do that? It's a townie maneuever, just like your exact opposite flip flop was (I assume) townie.

I mentioned bad vibes from sloonei and sprityo before they defended Colin, so this adds to my read of them. Idk if they'd be so bold as to defend a teammate but I'm willing to put pressure there

Dyslexicon wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 12:27 pm I spent time ISOing Sabie, and I would like some opinion on that. I like Sabie's later posts tbh, but in the ISO I found a lot of excuses and putting things off, as in "I haven't read that yet" "I'll catch up later" "I need to check that". I find that scum is more likely to put off catching up or saying to check things and then don't. I also notice how little she mentions Radish and how waffly it is when she does. She also voted Nut with a pretty shaky rationale iirc. So I could see a Radish/Sabie connection. This is also strengthened by how Radish mentioned Sabie as one of the iffier voted on Nut, and how Sabie has not commented on that at all, but completely ignored it.

I honestly had the opinion that an actively involved Sabie with opinions would mean town and that a less involved and waffly Sabie would mean scum. And that she was not that hard to read. But I've gotten the impression that she may be hard to read? Some people have mentioned this at least. So I want opinions from people that know her. Anyway, I'll find quotes that stick out to me.

juliets wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 9:52 am Ok, I know I said I was going to look at Mac and I am but I got sidetracked to Turnip Head for a few minutes. I looked up the Firefly game to see if I was remembering his scum behavior correctly and what I find is it is radically different from the way he's behaving here. He's lighthearted in that game especially in the beginning but really peppered all the way through and his posts appear more frequently. I did not look at our team chat (I'm not even sure there's a link to it) but I saw enough in the game thread. I'm posting the link here: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/search ... only&ch=-1

Take a look at it, read through some of his posts, it doesn't take long to read a few pages. Look at page 5 where he welcomes me on board his ship (I believe I subbed in that game) - it's an example of why I said earlier I found him charming.

I don't think I can support a full town read here based on this one game but if he is scum here his behavior has changed a lot.
I encourage everyone to take a look, my iso from that game is quite a pleasure :keys:

Turnip Head: http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 61#p587461 - I don't like his posts on MR. TH posts things like "Scum tbqh" and "More like Master Badishes amirite", but he doesn't go into specifics. In the post i linked to, he ignores everything mentioned in the analysis MR made just a couple of posts above his (in which MR tries to find scum in the nutella voters, of which TH is one), and instead throws the attention back at him. This feels like TH is only adding fuel to the MR suspicion without really committing to it. Leaning bad on TH.

Ouch. While not an incorrect assessment of my civvie sleuthing skills when I don’t have info gathering powers, as a Miami Dolphins fan, that comparison cuts deep.

Anyway, let’s talk about the roles, shall we? I see two roles that can ‘send orders’ to a civ. One is a civ role but the other is a baddie. On the one hand, there is potential for civs to become known to another civ. On the other hand, complying risks letting a baddie hijack your power.

Has anyone played with this kind of role mirrored in this way before? My gut says complying should probably be done based on how powerful a player thinks their role is. Thoughts?

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 1]

It's the host's discretion to record copies of the poll; LC and BR are notoriously bad at keeping it consistently XD

We might have to snapshot it ourselves in the future.

Vote was 6-6 nutella and Master Radishes; speedchuck had a couple votes and I think Jack had one.

Good news is I think most votes were recorded in-thread with the vote tag.
