Amazing
While I'm thinking of it, how was our choice in host color?
I played this game with the black Syndicate theme (I usually use the blue one) and I really enjoyed the host color. The host posts were awesome, I loved the story and all the events felt... idk, iconic?. You guys did a great job creating a theme and tone for this game. It's definitely one that I'll remember :)

Also its nice to know I was the only one to find Jane/TH suspicous.
That was us :D llama, INH and I all made posts as Zombie Agnes. We loved her very much and were sad when she had to go back to the underworld.

You're a dangerous player roxy. It didn't take me long to figure out you were playing Anne whittle and I was really scared of you. I wanted to NK you because I didn't think we could lynch you without repercussions. Thankfully it all worked out. But yes you had me pegged as a baddie! :D

Don't be so hard on yourself Epi! This was a tough game to be a civvie in, and a lot of factors were involved in you becoming an Honorary Death Eater. I'd also argue that Merga was the one who pushed you closer toward defending Malin. She was dead set on you being bad and never let her foot off the gas. I would have become trench buddies with Malin under those circumstances too.

I'm telling you- Jennet and Barbara's lousy cases made me think they were rotten. Sorry guys, but that was awful.
That's what happens when you can't make a case against someone who you know is bad, but aren't allowed to specifically say. This is also the first place I've played where info-dumping is not allowed.

Anyway, I figured out my fallacy after I came back with a vengeance. I had not read up on the game thread following my death, and kinda assumed Karin was still loafing along and chiming in with useless posts. Turned out I was wrong and everyone thought she was good, and so my case had a hard time standing up. Same with Jane, a case against her was also going to tough.
Rules against info dumping are pretty standard these days, and it's because it isn't in the spirit of the game.

I won't try to lecture you on how I think is the best way to utilize the info you gain from an info role. Your accuracy at finding baddies was remarkable, and you could be quite convincing with your reasonableness. But you played 100% exactly like I'd expect someone to play when they have info that they aren't allowed to dump. We heavily suspected that you were Hermione when you went after Mary and it was confirmed when you tried to use the same tactics against Karin. It was obvious to me that you hadn't read the thread from between your death and your rez, so I knew you had nothing concrete on Karin. Once you demonstrated that you, in fact, had no case, I was able to go to work discrediting your intel.

The question wasn't whether or not you had info on Karin, because I think everybody knew that's what you were trying to imply, it was hard to miss. The question was whether your info was credible or not. The way you played actually made it EASIER for us to discredit you.

I still thought it was a longshot and knew that if the Karin lynch went through (and it nearly did), I would be next on the chopping block. Our whole team would have been decimated before long. But the fact that Epi/Alizon trusted Elo/Karin really helped us here and they both deserve a ton of credit for how that played out :D And the Resurrection Stone event allowed me to plant some doubt about your alignment post-rez. All we needed to do was convince Alizon and Katharina, and then we were able to get people to ignore you while we continued to run the lynches.

You were in a tight spot. Against a lesser group of evildoers, you probably would have succeeded. But we had no intention of going quietly. :feb:

I could have done more, but I could certainly have done less. Far less. Like, I could have only caught 1 baddie, for example.
:p Thankfully you made it easy for us to refute you because you didn't back your accusations up with anything. That's also how we were able to discredit Jennet, despite the fact that she had info on most of our team :feb:

Re: [NIGHT 10] Harry Potter Mafia

Which other BTSC groups ended up forming? Besides the obvious Jennet/Barbara connection :D

If those had gotten out of hand it could have become a real problem for us.

Re: [NIGHT 10] Harry Potter Mafia

A Person wrote:The Elder Wand event worked like this: the names for the Elder Wand poll were randomized, and encoded using each sock's character, heart, and social numbers. To do that, I used this:

Code: Select all

input = open("data.txt")
table = {"a":1, "b":2, "c":3, "d":4, "e":5, "f":6, "g":7, "h":8, "i":9,
	      "j":1, "k":2, "l":3, "m":4, "n":5, "o":6, "p":7, "q":8, "r":9,
	      "s":1, "t":2, "u":3, "v":4, "w":5, "x":6, "y":7, "z":8}
print("character heart social")
for line in input:
    line = line.replace(" ", "").lower()
    val_list = [0,0,0]
    for char in line:
        if char in table:
            if char in "aeiou":
                val_list[1] += table[char]
            else:
                val_list[2] += table[char]
            val_list[0] += table[char]
    out_list = [str(val_list[0]), str(val_list[1]), str(val_list[2])]
    for i in range(len(out_list)):
        while len(out_list[i]) > 1:
            temp = 0
            for char in out_list[i]:
                temp += int(char)
            out_list[i] = str(temp)
    output = out_list[0] + " " + out_list[1] + " " + out_list[2]
    print(line + output)
And we used the numbers only, hoping our students were keeping up in their studies. :P[/b][/color]
I spent at least two hours trying to figure out how in the hell that Elder Wand poll worked, and I never came close. :derp:

Thank you sir. :)

Wooooooooh! Great game everyone!! This was a ton of fun, thank you for hosting Lizzy and AP. I really, really wanted this one. Our position in the game was very fragile and it could have all come crashing down at any moment. Thankfully our team was AWESOME and we were able to make a couple of key moves. The Jennet rez almost sank our entire team but we pulled ourselves out of the depths and played balls to the wall.

Thanks Elo, llama and INH, it was a pleasure eating Death with you all. :slick:
