Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
Our culture developed independently of the larger mafia community for sure. A lot of us got our start on LostPedia where no one had really played mafia before. I think "no u" was a catchphrase of a few players and it caught on because it's fun to say. I have no idea who came up with "BTSC"... I remember being confused by that one when I started playing. Rezzes are a byproduct of having so many power roles - the standard for games on LP was 30 roles, and almost all of them had a unique power. We like crazy gamesJaggedJimmyJay wrote:Y'all use weird terms around here. :P
"Meta" is a staple of RYM vernacular. Where you say "no u", we say "omgus" (oh my god you suck). Where you say "civs with BTSC", we say "masons" (though the entire concept of BTSC is completely different here). I'd never even heard "BTSC" before coming to The Syndicate.

It is interesting that we never really referred to a player's "meta" much. I think a lot of players including myself like to play differently in each game. I've certainly never played like I did in this one, and probably won't ever again.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (End Game)
I know how you feel, I felt the same way as civvie team leader in Recruitment III. We knew who most of the baddies were and lynched a baddie almost every day, but it didn't matter because the Musketeers had access to the baddie chatrooms and had so much influence over how the game played out. It sucks when you play a strong game but come up just short.Spacedaisy wrote:I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling really burned right now. Seeing everything going on makes me realize I really never had a chance to win this game from the start. There were some balance issues here. But I did enjoy the game despite that. So thanks for your hard work BR and LC.
I think the important thing with these games is that you play hard and have fun because it also takes a lot of luck to win Recruitment Mafia.

My epic challenge was to stop 2 Guardian lynches in Position 5 and then all Guardian lynches would be pardoned. I made no progress on it. The one time a Guardian was up for lynch in that position, nutella had a lynch switch anyways.

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 14)
I went after you guys because she wouldn't tell me who her teammates were :P So I didn't know who to go after. Eventually I figured out that you and Llama (obviously) were on the team, so I backed off you and tried to get Rey lynched, but then Nutella died and I went after you because I had nothing else to play for.Bullzeye wrote:To be fair, nutella did want us to win with you and did ask us to rezz one of yours. She also defended you a few times in our btsc. We just didn't have any reason to trust you and were only keeping you around because we didn't need you dead. You kept coming after me and Llama so we weren't really keen on helping you, and didn't want to use our team's rezz on someone who wasn't aligned with us in case you just used us out for your own ends and then sold us out.Turnip Head wrote:Lmao at aapje double crossing everyoneI was told he was on Team Azura. The only thing missing from the "Llama = Azura" theory is that Azura's Position 2 power feels like a Night power rather than a Day one, and the night for Position 2 hasn't happened yet. Maybe it can be used during the Day; that seems a little overpowered though

Re: Recruitment Mafia IV: Dawn of the Clans (Day 12)
Ironically enough, I think me calling out Rey as the SK is what will force him to stop killing willy nilly and choose a side. I don't think he can be trusted long term (he's claiming to not be LMS, and while the role doesn't explicitly state that it's LMS, I don't think it's a reach that it is). And if he's telling the truth about not being LMS, then even more ironic is that his best bet for a swift endgame would be to kill the civvies who are probably fewer in number than the baddies, and those are probably exactly the people who have been forced to put their hope in Rey's murderous hands. But I don't think he'll do that, and in any case I'm happy with the work I've done here today
That said I think Sorsha makes an excellent point about us being in Position 3 and being able to nullify Rey's potentially harmful actions in the short term. I'll switch my vote to nutella in the hope that it takes me off Rey's shitlist.
