Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night Five
It is an important distinction now OA. Before LC was lynched, then DrWilgy needed to die if he was a Cylon. Now that Cain is dead and some order has been restored, we don't need necessarily need DrWilgy dead just because he's a Cylon. We do have to make another judgment call.ObscureAllure wrote:Also - I find it hilarious that before y'all new he was a cylon y'all were SO SURE he was bad. Now that you now he's a cylon you're like.... "well maybe he's good?" What about all of the evidence that made you think he was bad before? That suddenly is nullified because he said he's good? Every cylon that gets caught in the amnesty crap is going to say they are good because they are trying to survive. Why is it that once he says that, y'all all suddenly forget everything you found suspicious before?
For what it's worth, I voted him because he had not claimed and because I trust the players who had voted him before I did. Also, there are other players I'd rather lynch tomorrow than DrWilgy.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night Five
I think LC tends speaks in a calculated manner, which is why I always think he is evil.S~V~S wrote:@Rico, I did not go through with it becasue LC has this knack for making me feel like an idiot. **I DO NOT THINK HE DOES IT INTENTIONALLY**, it is definitely me, not him, but this is how I react to him and always have, not sure why. Maybe because I do respect him tons as a player of the top tier, and in general, his opinion of me matters to me. SO I am very very susceptible to scorn/sarco/etc. from him. When I feel stupid I back off. It is a problem I also have IRL. It is the same reason I have issues with a few other people, but in any case, it is why I backed down from him here.
And @Dex, OK, as someone who flies off of my gut, I can respect that. But he really was not sounding town before the lynch, imo.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Five
And this might be paranoia, but Long Con disappeared when Ricochet called him out for that post. This is the second time Long Con has done this sort of thing. The first time happened when I proposed the Anti-Amnesty plan. Long Con was around and posting, but disappeared for a bit right when I suggested it.
I understand that people have things they need to attend to etc, but I find it noteworthy, and suspicious if the reason he's not posting is because he is an evil Cylon without a good response.

Long Con has the idea that Wilgy is a Cylon, so I believe my vote would be fine on either wagon.
I hope others coming to vote later will look at this too. Good catch Ricoyay.

I've deliberated. I trust the voters currently on both the Wilgy and Long Con wagons. I'm going to vote Wilgy since between the two, he has not claimed Cylon.
Zebra is off the poll, and she's also voted for sig, so I'm going to hold those thoughts for another day.

Linki: I'm probably voting for you Long Con. But you can still give me an alternative.
Also, on page 55, why did you come up with that oddball theory about our sorties only having a probability of finding a rezz ship on each space of the sortie grid? That made no sense to me, because if true it would have made the whole sortie thing more complicated and possibly impossible to complete.
Have you given any more thought to Nutella using the word 'scum' to describe baddies for the first time? (page 69) Has that led you to any conclusions about specific possible teammates? Or are you just keeping that idea out there in the ether to come back to later?
Can you explain again why you voted Nero instead of LoRab Day 3? (page 89) Keeping LoRab as a firm leader would have been a full confirmation of her Toaster status. We were able to infer as much anyway but had she fought harder or more convincingly, there could have been doubt about her.
Can you explain why no one seems to be out for your head anymore?
Do you think it has something to do with the fact that you came up with the idea of everyone making the amnesty claim? That certainly got us off on a wild tangent.
Who are your top three suspects now?
I don't know. I don't recall the theory right now, and Page 55 by my view doesn't reveal it.
I have not given it much more thought. I've realized that it can incriminate a number of players, and even then, nutella may not have gotten the idea from a teammate, but from one of her enemies.
I've explained it several times already. To put it simply, I misunderstood the situation, and voted what I thought was best, when in hindsight it was not the best option.
The only explanation I can offer is the Marmot-Protection Act. You should ask people if you want specific reasons. The Anti-Amnesty plan could be part of it too.
My top 3 suspects are Long Con, a2thezebra, and sig, in that order.

The G-Man/Glorf insults and whatnot aside...
Lately, G-Man has been gunning after Glorf, hasn't had much to say about other players, and doesn't seem to mind whether others are interested in lynching Glorf alongside him.
I get the feeling his pursuit is not sincere. I'll see if I can gather some evidence when I'm not on my phone.

How many players do we have in the game? 24, 25? Two-thirds of the town have agreed that claiming is in the town's best interest, so essentially, all of these players are anti-town as of now.
We need to put pressure on them. Do I think they're all "bad" ? No. Do I think Cavil and/or other bad cylons are hiding in this bunch? Absolutely.
I think we should start with OA, who can't claim cuz of "punishments" but will totes claim if we lynch LC despite "punishments".

Linki - Oh okay, nvm now she was "just kidding". Someone help me pressure her please.
I'm sorry, my friend but you're posting the wrong list... The list that YOU should be posting (that would be infinitely more helpful to us) is the list of players that HAVE claimed in sequence of when they claimed (and preferably with the times they claimed so we can timeline them). Let me make this crystal clear, I'm in no way accusing you of anything but others (like well, umm Polo for instance) who seem obsessed with the first list you posted are I believe leading us down the garden path. What is happening here is what is referred to as selection bias and it's being perpetrated on a Town team that is largely far to accepting of it. Continually posting that list only focuses attention on those that for a variety of different reasons have not claimed.
As I said earlier, it seems only logical to me that the real Baddies have already jumped ship and claimed leaving them time to hide and help drive lynches on those who haven't/won't claim and so gain an advantage over us. I am highly suspicious of those who insist on driving this misguided agenda.

We're roughly halfway (maybe further) to a mass-Cylon claim as it is. Do you suggest we just stop in our tracks?

Unless of course you come up with the idea. :PPolo wrote:Claim Cylon and I might read you good.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Four
Good question. I'm lost on this one tbh. The President can't be a Cylon herself, so I dunno.Glorfindel wrote:I notice that I've had no response to this question that I asked - so I will ask again...Glorfindel wrote:Largely a matter of principle and no, you have my word that I am not John Cavil. I want to re-read the cases for and against in relation to the claiming thing. I do however suspect something entirely sinister is going on here (feel free to call me paranoid. I have a question for you though - would Youi or anyone like to speculate on why we had the Cylon Amnesty Act in the first place? What could our President been trying to achieve by passing that law? I'd be most interested in any conjecture anyone would care to volunteer on this matter.Polo wrote:Glorfindel, do you have a legitimate reason not to claim Cylon? Are you John Cavil?
I am here JJJ, please make good use of my time.
Happy birthday juliets.
You're so bad. Can't even get your jokes straight.sig wrote:Aww I messed up my own joke by bolding and not underlining.
Also this was the first GTH that everyone read me as bad.
You'd be wrong, but if it will help your concerns I'll claim cylon tomorrow. Since I'd rather not be lynched.

Are you sure you're not squeezing one out with each syllable you marked with a period here?ObscureAllure wrote:I is trying so hard not to go do-do. Must.wait.for.EOD.post

I resort to humor in such instances. It usually doesn't work though, because who wants to hear a crappy joke when someone else is staring daggers at them through their monitor?Silverwolf wrote:Yeah, I can be that way in a game.Spacedaisy wrote:You don't seem not nice to me in mafia, only emotional and defensive. Also, ika comes off as very abrasive in mafia games but is one of the nicest, most caring people you will ever meet IRL.
Mafia just brings out emotions because we are all accusing each other of being murders. I don't know how it can not.
I admire those that keep their cool in games. I am working on it but nowhere close to being able to do that.
I do get mad at myself from time-to-time, but that's mainly because of my horrendous scum-hunting abilities.
