Re: Day 5 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

thellama73 wrote:SO bear with me here for a moment, folks. I have had a thought.

In typing my last post in which I noticed that LC is doing the very thing that SVS ALWAYS jumps on me for doing, and noting her lack of response, I began to wonder. And wonder pretty hard.

Long Con has done a good job of portraying himself as SVS's greatest adversary, but is he really? Let's look at the votes.

Day 1: Long Con cast the third vote for SVS after MP had seven. No danger to SVS there.
Day 2: Long Con voted for juliets. SVS took 0 votes. No danger to her there.
Day 3: Long Con cast the only vote for SVS after Made had three. No danger to SVS there.
Day 4: Long Con cast the 13th vote for Made. SVS took three votes. No danger to her there.
Day 5: Long Con, after talking about no one but SVS for ever, suddenly abandons his suspicion of her to come after me HARD for what seems to me to be no reason at all.

Now, it is possible SVS is keeping quiet just because she is thankful that attention has shifted away from her, but I submit to you that Long Con and SVS have been on a team this whole time, and engaging in some very clever distancing.

This is based on a) Long Con being vocally against SVS, but not actually voting for her when it could have made a difference. and
b) SVS staying silent about behavior that she consistently goes bananas over when others do it.

I would love to hear others' opinions about this, but as for me, I am going ahead and trusting my gut. Voting for SVS now.
llama, this logic is pointless. Okay, so maybe LC has suddenly waffled on SVS, but SVS has never been in danger of being lynched. You are absolutely manufacturing this idea from nothing. If SVS and LC are teammates, what good would it be for LC to place the 13th vote on Made if SVS is a safe vote?

There's no indication in "The Knight Who Says Ni"'s role description, so we can't just assume such a thing. That's the only 'baddie' that's flipped so far.

I know baddies usually do, but that doesn't mean we can assume as such.

I think that reason is contrived. Just because Made was civ doesn't mean the case against him was not a good one. I don't know why people don't understand that.

She has been active, but there have been long pauses between her activity, as one would expect from someone who checks into a chatroom before posting.
I think you assume all baddies check into the chatroom for instructions before they post. As if every time they come online, they are given a list of keywords, phrases, and ideas they must talk about that day.

Is this how you run your mafia chatroom llama?

Not necessarily. Or maybe not, I don't know.

In my experience, a ninja is a killer that cannot be blocked, nor can be tracked, followed, or watched. It can have any alignment though.

I never tried to conceal the fact that I wanted Made dead in the slightest. I said so more than once. I never tried to pretend I wasn't leading the lynch. I have been his strongest adversary all game and did nothing to hide that. It is all out in the open.
Dana wrote: Llama also seems to be picking the littlest things to focus on and target people with.
What have you been using to pick your suspects? At least I am trying. Let's take a look at your voting record shall we?

Day 1: missed vote.

Day 2: missed vote.

Day 3: Last vote on the MR bandwagon, which resulted in a civ lynch.

Day 4: missed vote.

Not exactly leaving us much to hold you accountable with, are you?

And yet you've voted in every night poll, despite having half as long to do so.

Million dollar question: What sort of role tends to be more active at night than during the day?

Answer: A bad one, particularly one with a sinister night action, such as a kill to send in.
Well if she does have the ability to kill, wouldn't she lose it each night she missed the lynch vote?

Linki: Agreed.

Re: Night 4 Monty Python and the Holy Grail

My logic against the lynch switch directly after it happened was that it typically requires each party to have at least one vote. AP did not receive a vote until the very last second of the day period, so Made could not have known when he would ask for the switch that AP would have been a viable option.

But this was countered by the argument that anyone can have the lynch switched to them.

Linki: How could Made affirm such a thing? That would easily be rule-breaking and get him MK'd anyway.

Let me add what I do remember. I recall a lot of discussion over Concorde possibly having a lover. I never did read his role, so I just passed on it as speculation. It wasn't until LC's comment that I decided to actually read the role and understand what it was saying.

So you think that maybe the secrets to AP's role are that he would sacrifice himself for the surival of Lancelot? That fits with the movie description. I am actually very inclined to believe this.

I don't recall anyone else offering such a hypothesis, but it made complete sense as to why AP was lynched. I never did read the details on AP's role, which clearly would have helped.

Ok this argument is the type of argument any mafia can get behind. It's hedging your bet. If I flip mafia, then they voted me so they're happy they voted me, but when i flip civvie, they're safe from criticism as they believed I was civvie the entire time.

If you think that I am less suspicious than someone else, then pursue that person and vote for them. Don't just vote to kill a civvie. It shouldn't matter if I come up in discussion. In any other game, If you thought someone was suspicious, but another person thinks someone else is suspicious, you don't agree to have them lynched to prove them wrong??? If other's are misguided, push forward your theory instead. A civvies most powerful tool is their vote, and if Mafia can take that from them, then civvies lose all power and mafia wins.

Mafia isn't going to start cooperating and listening to town because i'm dead.

There are easily enough doubter to keep me alive, but even if you don't see me as innocent enough to vote to save me, vote who you think is guilty.

MM, Canuck, BWT, LC, and Bullz: Either admit I am mafia and vote for me, or vote who you think mafia is.

(Also i still need Who people think is suspicious if(when) I flip civvie. I only have them from llama(SVS) and Dana(Llama), and I already directly asked MM and Canuck.)
Made, I do think you are very suspicious. I have said so countless times since Day 1. I have voted you every single day (though may Day 2 vote changed later to Enrique). The thing that is making me less suspicious now is some game mechanic logic, NOT from your playing. I'm really uncertain as to what you are asking of me (and everyone else) in this post.

On Day Zero, before Enrique could have possibly been recruited, Made made a comment about how there could be BTS other than baddie BTS. I asked him if he were implying that HE had civvie BTS, and Enrique basically slapped my wrist and told me not to target paint, somewhat more subtly than that, but that was his point. So that was when I backed off of Made, and got into the whole me vs MP thing. Then after that, Enrique & Made started making little suspecting motions towards each other, then suddenly stopped (that was when Made started saying he just said he suspected Enrique to gauge peoples judgment, or something to that effect) and that is when i started suspecting Made again. Civ BTS partners don't need to distance, or throw each other under the bus, or revise their opinions of each other.

So yeah, Enrique coming up bad had a big part in my change of heart. It's a theory; I don't know it to be true, but given the fact that people were overtly defending Made makes it seem a reasonable theory to me.

I think both of your pings are a bit pedantic, being as they are both about characters from the movie that I was hinting at. The French joke I made and expounded on was in reference to SVS's comment about people having civvie BTSC. I followed it up with, "Hey maybe they're French" with the suggestion that hey, maybe it's not the civvies. Essentially I was saying, "Hey, maybe they're bad." Also, with llama's comment and many other's support that this might be the ballsiest mafia ever, I think it's hypocritical to take my comment and say it's that of a baddie, when his more extreme suggestion is so accepted.

As for Epi, here you will find his death. He was the rabbit who killed several of Arthur's knights in the film. While we don't yet know how bad he is, we at least know he's an indy, and I'd be willing to bet that we need him dead to win. We'll find out soon I think, either way.

Omg linki: I still have 3 other pages to read first, but this read from Dana needed addressing from me.
This definitely makes more sense now that it's explained in the context of the movie. Maybe I should get to watching it so that I can try and understand everything better. I don't remember exactly what you said in the original French post, but when Bullz(I think?) brought it up again a few pages ago it seemed like you knew for sure that there was a French team, which was a little odd. It makes much more sense to be a joke, though. Because if you were actually on a French baddie team, then why in the world would you say so in the thread?
Here is the original post I made. Here with the next 10 posts or so, is the brief discussion that followed.

How does ham and jam in Spamalot toast sound? It even include a reference to the film you starred in.

What do you mean by this?

What will we find out soon enough and how? And how do you know this?
His role just appeared in the OP, as I suspected from previous trends. However it's hard to say which way he was aligned, but since Brother Maynard is a member of King Arthur's court in the film, I'd be willing to bet that at least he is good.
Epignosis had the worst possible role,

Rabbit of Caerbannog - That rabbit is dynamite! - In addition to killing on odd nights on even nights you will search for Brother Maynard. If you find Brother Maynard you won't/can't kill him but will earn (1) instant kill to be used whenever you wish (day or night). LMS

Enrique wrote:The French thing? Yeah, that's worth keeping in mind, I think. I haven't watched the movie so I don't know if it's really that obvious, but do the French have to be a baddie team? Because the roles we know make no mention of them at all. DF's role implies thre was only one Knight who said Ni, right? So why do the French have to be different? Are they the only "bad" faction in the movie worth having as a team? I jus tdon't get it. It's one thing to speculate, but to work on that assumption and just casually mention "the French team" like it's nothing. I really think MM is bad and will be voting for him.
:haha:

Sorry, but you all are blowing this out of proportion. It was not an assumption, as I stated specifically here. Rather then discuss it, people jumped all over it. Anyway, the point is, it doesn't have to be the French. I was specifically responding to a post from SVS that some civvies might have BTSC, in that hey maybe the unknown baddies do. And as I later explained, it was an idea, not a base for cases I was making or any such thing.

As you may have gathered, I do agree.

When I'm a civ and my name keeps coming up for absolutely no reason at all, I get CRAY CRAY bothered by it and make a big fuss. Maybe that's just not the way MM rolls, but I do find it a little odd that he isn't at all bugged by the really flimsy accusations about him and the repeated resurfacing of his name.
(If such a response exists, please someone point me to it....)
I did say that I might not be on before the deadline, and I did ask MR why he voted for me.

Votes sometimes bother me and sometimes don't. I do worry a little bit, especially after what happened to AP yesterday, but votes are going to come and go. I'm not going to explain my meta here though, because that will probably be used against me.
Made wrote:What was your opinion of voting to save me? I'd be willing to change my vote to MM, another vote from JC (I think she also spoke suspicions of MM) would be enough to at least tie it.
But I will address this comment. You've made cases against other players, but not against me. At one point, you even said you suspected me only because I suspect you. This doesn't gel. But I guess being a potential lynchee, you'll put your vote anywhere to save yourself. I will not fault you for that.

Well that's all the posts I feel like responding to at the moment, but another couple questions.

@ Keterman, give me a good reason I shouldn't vote for you tomorrow?

Bullzeye wrote:As for MetalMarsh, I find his comment about the French to be quite pingy, for lack of a better term. It struck a chord when I first saw it and just gave me a bad vibe. I hadn't really thought of MM before that but the one assumption was enough to set my mind on him for whatever reason. He does seem to have done a fair bit of baddie hunting, and after day one has put himself out there. The only other thing that makes me wonder about him is a fairly minor thing but it's this:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:I do not feel bad anymore for my speculation of Epi on Day 1. Goodbye Epi.
Initially I had misremembered this quote as suspicion instead of speculation but I think my opinion of it stays fairly the same. All he said about Epi was that it was strange he was so quiet, and then seemed to accept Epi's explanation for why that was. Throwing out a comment like this after Epi is revealed to have been an indy seems a bit shady to me, like he wanted credit for baddie-hunting or something? I don't know. I am suspicious of MM but the only case I can really come up with is shaky at best - based on vibes and a couple of comments I found relatively strange. It's more gut than anything at this point.
The way it went through my head was much different than you explained it here. Before I voiced a suspicion of Epi, I made a joke to him and he gave me a virtual finger. That bothered me, but then I thought that I may have taken the joke too far? I don't know. Then I made my statement later about his lack of activity, and again, a blunt response, and so I took it kind of emotionally and just left it alone. Then after seeing Epi's role after his death, I decided that maybe I was actually right, and had no reason to feel bad.

I realize after the last post that it that it might seem odd, but didn't feel like explaining it unless someone asked. Please don't look to deeply into it, as it was definitely a situation I didn't handle correctly, nor is it important to the game.

This is the closest conclusion I could find.

I don't love how Made immediately dropped his vote on me and took a vow of silence, but the discussion about why AP may have been lynched has given me pause in voting for him. I've never felt totally on board with lynching him in the first place.
Either MR's vote was forced, or he randomized, or he has a hidden agenda.

Who do you THINK will be lynched today? :ponder:
Not to get all metaphysical on you, but I believe in free will as opposed to determinism, so I don't think that is predictable. The person who will be lynched today is the person the most people decide to vote for (barring any more lynch switchy monkeyshines.)

Why did you ask that question? Seems a bit weird.
I asked because I asked it of myself and didn't know. There's been Metalmarsh talk here and there, and of course Made, and I think there's some MR lynch proponents out there... but right now it seems like a pretty unpredictable lynch.
Are you looking for a bandwagon to hop onto before it forms?

Also, maybe AP's vote was forced by mafia's hand, followed by a lynch switch. I don't know if we're discussing such things now, but it's another thought.

Why would you specifically say French here?
The French were essentially the antagonists of the Holy Grail film. I'm being careful with my words, but I hope this explains it.
I know they're in the film and aren't friendly. I just think it's odd you seem to assume they're the/a baddie team (and mention them specifically) when the only known baddie role has no affiliation with them.
There are 25 players in this game; the parity has to exist somewhere.

And no I'm not assuming that anyone who has BTSC is bad, I'm putting the idea up for discussion.
