Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]

I'm tied for the lead too it seems. This is going to be a fun ride.

Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]

HamburgerBoy wrote:Is there any reason to assume that the Xtacles couldn't be underpowered/unusable/however people are putting it? This is my first game here, but maybe their purpose is more equivalent to a bunch of vanilla roles which happen to (uncontrollably) shoot powers every which way, being more of a game mechanic than something that's supposed to be controlled? That the power would be diminished quickly within a couple days (I'm assuming the odds of killing Stan early are low) seems to further support that.
I think you've got the right idea here. Alone, the Xtacles don't seem like much, but together, that can wreck a bit of havoc each night.

I actually would like to see it. But also explained simply like you are talking to a child or as in my case an old lady.
Ok, here goes.

If I were Xander Crews, this would be my first message, sent tonight:

"Hello Xtacles. First thing's first, we have to identify ourselves to each other. After the Night is done and you get this message, you will hide a code in your second post of Day 2. Your 6th word of that post will begin with an 'f', your fourteenth word will begin with a 'g', and your sixteenth word will begin with an 'h'. Look for each others' posts, identify each other as I identify you.

From that point on, we must coordinate your nightly PMs. You must pay attention to each others' signals, or this cannot work. You will signal your target using a code. The last word of your post will be a number, which will indicate which vote you are in the order. Obviously, this word will be "one", "two", "three", "four", "five", or "six". It will be followed by a Smiley to indicate which player you will be targeting.

1. Ika - :meany:
2. S~V~S - :faint:
3. Epignosis - :fist:
4. Timmer - :flamed:
5. Nijuukyugou -
6. Metalmarsh89 - :pout:
7. TinyBubbles - :puppy:
8. Sig - :scared:
9. Long Con -
10. G-Man - :haha:
11. Spacedaisy - :dark:
12. HamburgerBoy - :shrug2:
13. Roxy - :bighug:
14. Scotty - :cloud9:
15. Mac's Mom -
16. Dharmahelper - :hugs:
17. Elohcin -
18. DisgruntledPorcupine - :suspish:
19. Cookie - :workit:
20. Made - :confused2:
21. Movingpictures07 -
22. Saberfish -

If you posted twice before reading this PM, then you can still pull the escape chute to identify yourself with the phrase, "I think I need to light a candle" at some point during the phase. You will know who I am when I say "One more time around the mulberry bush, eh boys?"

Let's stay focused and do this by the numbers. I would like to suggest the first three targets to protect me every night - that, combined with helping me not get lynched by day, makes me very hard to kill.

The next three targets could protect one of you, or just use two to roleblock someone.

If the first targeter targets someone who is not me or you, then it is a signal that they wish to kill that person. Then we can kill and then roleblock. That's cool too.

I'll check in every night and talk about how things are going. Good luck out there!"

Something like that. Maybe I'd go over it a few more times with a fine-toothed comb in order to be prepared for whatever eventuality.
This looks like my Rainbow Read list from that one game!

You've earned my vote Sir Long Con.

Re: Frisky Dingo [DAY 1]

Theoretically, Xander could say "Cliff and Clint, target this player tonight".

But if Cliff is nightkilled, nobody would know he was dead, so this strategy might not be ideal. Imo, Xander would be better off choosing players he thinks should be nightkilled.

1. No illegal BTSC with anyone, ever. Seriously.
2. No editing or deleting of posts.
3. No on topic talk from dead players. Please use Dead Red to post off topic.
4. No role outing. Infodumping should be handled with extreme caution.
5. No reproducing the host PMs in thread.
6. No jackassery. If you feel the need to be a jackass, send a message to the Mod on Duty istead of posting it in the thread. This is a big one.
7. Have fun!
I noticed this as well. I think extreme caution indicates that role outing should not be insinuated with an info dump. That is just a guess.

HamburgerBoy wrote:May I selectively use strike-through tags to choose which parts of my posts I won't allow people to case me on? I think it's only fair, since I took the effort to redact the words before anyone else even had a chance to read them.
Sure.

We also have the OT tags which makes the text green for off-topic. If you use this, then Epignosis is less likely to build a case on you.
