I'm in a similar boat rn. The arsonist kinda does have to self-prez the way JPIC is doing, but you're right, being quiet is not an unreasonable strategy for them.

And JPIC could just be town who thought we were joking to off him, but then EOD rolled around, and he was annoyed that we were serious.

I do think short posts can be scummy in the sense that it's easier to make assertions without a thought process, and only explain it when asked.
