OK, how would we even go about finding this person? A smart indy plays like a civ as long as possible. Maybe a reread of blooper, to see who she had an eye on might be useful. She was a fairly odd kill choice IMO, so it could be something she said.
Also, as always, LOVE your graphics, Blooper

Re: Occultism Mafia - Night 4
5 rashers thick-cut bacon
2 oz nightshade
1 oz mandrake root, chopped
1/2 c hemp seeds, crushed
2 oz fly agaric, coarsely chopped
1 oz calamus root (optional; for aromatics)
1 oz beeswax
Fry the bacon in a large cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven in batches, reserving fat and reserving bacon for another use (mmmm, bacon). Strain bacon fat through fine mesh strainer, repeating as necessary to remove all solid particles. Reserve fat in glass jar. Grind nightshade, mandrake root, hemp seeds, fly agaric, and calamus root into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle and/or food processor. Place rendered bacon fat in the top of a double boiler and add powdered ingredients, stirring to combine. Simmer over consistent heat for 3-4 hours, stirring every half hour. Strain the fat mixture through a fine mesh strainer 2-3 times, cleaning the strainer between each use. Stir beeswax into mixture, then return to double boiler and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour more or until the wax is completely melted and combined with the fat mixture. Pour melted ointment into precious, memorable containers, such as an ancestor's teacup(s). Allow to cool and solidify in the light of a waning gibbous moon. When ointment is ready, apply to the nape of the neck, elbows, and soles of the feet. Wheeeeeee!
(Recipes make me happy. Just hope this one doesn't kill me :P)

I need to vote, because I have to go to a super fun meeting at 6 (7 EST) and I don't know when I'll be back.
I don't feel Mongoose is bad, because she's too much in the spotlight, and I feel like the baddies are lying low, as I've stated many times before. I also don't feel the case on nutella.

Re: Re: Occultism Mafia - Day 4
I read his case and thought it looked interesting and possibly damning for Mongoose, and said that my vote would either be going towards him (since I'd been suspicious of him for a few days) or Mongoose. Then I saw more of what people said later in the day and was swayed more in voting his direction. Alas.Elohcin wrote:As for who I am voting for today, it is between Mongoose and Nutella. I have explained my suspicions of them both and Nutella's most recent post seems like distancing to me.
Niju, what do you think of Mongoose? You had said before the MP lynch that his case on her seemed sound and then you voted MP. What was your reasoning there?
I'm not going to rule out Mongoose, and may possibly vote her today because of MP's reasoning. But I'm also standing by my suspicion that our remaining baddie has been hiding in the shadows and not posting much, especially in the first couple of days, which means I may also be voting for one of the replacements or someone in the mid to low range of posting. I think you make an interesting point about faking a curse, because people do tend to ignore those who are cursed on lynch days. Not saying I necessarily think Mongoose is faking it, but it is something to think about.

Re: Occultism Mafia - Day 3
All right, I've had my time to decide, re-read the thread, and think this through. I think I'm going with my original suspicion of MP. I'm not going to ignore two missed NK's that correspond with the absences, and I've felt weird along with Mongoose about MP since she mentioned it first a few days ago (regarding the Boogs vote, etc.). While MP puts up some interesting points about Mongoose, they don't overpower my feeling to vote him today.

I was gung-ho on voting for you until I read your recent posts. I'm still not entirely sure of you, but you make some interesting points about Mongoose that will have me looking at her, too. I believe my vote will be between the two of you. I have to attend a conference session in 13 minutes but I should be back beforehand to vote. It may be a drive-by phone vote, which is why I'm saying this now (I'm also an hour behind here so it's throwing my mafia schedule offMovingPictures07 wrote:Now I'll hold off on voting just in case someone can poke holes in this, but I'm really feeling strongly about a Mongoose vote at the moment. And BWT, to answer your question, I don't have any particular reason to think Nutella is bad or independent this game; I think you're just seeing her go-to playstyle, and she has struck me as genuine. I meant to include this in an earlier post, sorry.

Re: Occultism Mafia - Day 2
I think voting Boogs is a big mistake, for reasons that have been rehashed over and over. I will not be putting my vote there.
I am suspicious of those not speaking that I mentioned before (Keterman, AP, and Hedgeowl, although the last one for some reason I suspect she is silenced or manipulated in some way due to her silent vote, so I'm less inclined to suspect her than the other two). I'm also suspicious of MP, for the weird vote on Boogs. I wish I could see more of what Mongoose is thinking, but I can totally understand that not everything can be posted on the thread, so I'm not feeling strongly enough for an MP vote this time around. So it's between Keterman and A Person. Keterman's brand new, so giving him the benefit of the doubt this time around (getting his sea legs, maybe?). So, my vote will be going to A Person, because I think he might be hiding under the radar after the Day 1 lynch.

I'm sorry if you've already done so, but can you elaborate on your suspicion of MP (I assume that's who you are referring to as "Sock")? I found his last posts to be weird and unfounded, as well (aside from the fortune-cookie style), and I'd like to know if you have any other thoughts (especially since you say "definitely").Mongoose wrote:I numbered them for easy reference, hope you don't mind.S~V~S wrote:1. Is it just me or has Socky lost the plot a bit?
LIzzy, get your face in here; we need your insight, cakepop.
2. Do you have anyone you DIStrust, even a bit?
3.What are your thoughts on Hedgeowl?
1. I don't, I just don't mistrust him yet.
2. Sock. Definitely Sock.
3. She's being consistent with her motives (from past games I mean), so I can't tell yet either way.

Re: Occultism Mafia - Day 2
I agree with changing the poll times - while I do stay up late, I prefer not having to vote at that time. Evening vote time, if possible
There are several people who haven't said a word since the last lynch (INH, AP, Hedgeowl, and Keterman), and nutella has posted since but without much substance that I can see. Perhaps one or two have been silenced (there are a couple of roles that allow for unexplained "hexes" and "potions"), but I'm thinking the baddies are lying low today. I don't like to vote for someone based solely on low posts, but it feels like those who are talking are Civvies going after other Civvies. Like Mongoose, I'm also not keen on this suspicion of Boogs. Dom's reasoning was that he was "fixated" on Eloh, but if that were the case, then why didn't Boogs vote Eloh Day 1? Or even halfway attempt a lynch? It just seemed like he was making a joke based on the Hobbit to me. Are there other reasons I'm missing? Or is anyone else suspicious of the silence? Thoughts??

Re: Occultism Mafia - Night 1
Damn. RIP Epi. Your posts entertained me so, but they stood out to me more than anything on Day 1, and the unexplained vote for Lizzy struck me as odd. But I already explained that in my vote choice, and I was unfortunately wrong.
While I don't have any strong leads, I suspect there may be a baddie either among those who voted Epi after me, or in those that randomized. I (of course) don't blame a Civ (or two, or three) for seeing him as suspicious, but I could see a baddie being opportunistic and blending in with the Epi lynch. I can also see a baddie hiding behind a "randomized" vote so as not to draw attention to themselves on Day 1. Those are places I'll likely be looking today. I still wonder why Epi chose to speak biblically? I'm probably overthinking it and Eloh is right about him getting into character for the game. Wouldn't put it past him :P
Also, where is the lovely Keterman? Dom and Lizzy said why they didn't vote, but Keterman disappeared after Day 0.
Side note: nutella, your avatar makes me hungry every time I see it. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite flavor in the world

Re: Occultism Mafia - Day 1
I'd like to go to bed, and I definitely won't be up before the poll ends (I've managed to get my sleep schedule nice and night-owly for the summer. Hooray!). I don't have any strong feelings for anyone in particular at the moment, but I'm *intrigued* by Epi's posting style so far, and a bit confused as to his lynch vote choice (perhaps I am not able to decipher his last posting?). Part of me wants to say that posting like he is is far too obvious for a baddie so early in the game, but the other part of me says not to ignore it. Not the greatest reason, but it's a reason, and I don't feel like randomizing.
Sleep time!

I also don't want to vote for someone based on number of posts, but for their content. Unfortunately, upon re-reading the thread, there isn't much content to work with. Such is the course of Day 1, I suppose.
@S~V~S Not that I saw. It seems the people who actually responded to her did not want to swing that way vote-wise.
