What.

I don't even...

I don't even know what's happening anymore. But I guess I never did.

Voting 7, because I love 7, no matter how mainstream it is :P And then I'm going to bed to play Sporcle and go to bed.

Re: The Donner Party - Day 3

Sorry for being MIA; this is a terrible workweek (still at work and will be here til 7 advertising classes that kids are required to take to graduate. Nice use of my time.)

Um, what am I being suspected for again? I see several "I'm looking at Blooper/Karate Squid" (hehe I like that last one) with no substance. I'd at least like to know what I'm defending myself against, if there's any foundation to it. As far as my post count goes, it's pretty standard for me at this point in a game, regardless of alignment (in fact, I'm a little surprised to see it this high, considering the week's events).

Also, WTF, James Reed? RIP MP. Dang.

Also, I'm considering a vote for Splints and I'm gonna go ahead and vote there now. MP's case against her looks fairly sound, and her rather defensive response to it (right after he posted it, with no one at the time agreeing/disagreeing) could be construed as baddie behavior. It always makes me raise an eyebrow, too, when someone makes an argument/defense that relies on something like, "I said ____ in the thread, and I'm good, so why don't you believe me?" Because everyone lies in mafia. Everyone.

Linki re: Zomba - I was going to agree that she was manipulating the thread, but looking back a few times, I think it might just be my bias at having my name mentioned rather suddenly. She did ask questions from others about me and voted (wrongly, for the record :noble: ) based on talking it out.

Okay. Good God, it took me like an hour to write that post. Off to do curriculum-y fair-y things and finish writing sub plans. I'll check on my phone later if possible, and if not, well, I hope for the best.

Re: The Donner Party - Night 2

I think as far as post counts go, the rotation makes that an iffy thing to look at solely, but maybe if the post number goes up or down at this point from where it was in the beginning? I do agree with Zomba that content will be more telling in conjunction with count.

Can you tell it's a hoppin' Meet the Teacher Night? Three so far :sigh:

Correction: Six now. Six out of 70. I should probably get back to finishing grades.

Re: The Donner Party - Day 2

That was...an unexpected turn of events. RIP llama!

I was pretty set for Rico, but it looks like it could be a set-up, as others said. From my reading, it looks like lots of people are voting LC because he's "playing the jester" and not giving a crap (I mean that in the way that you're not caring what others think, rather than saying you're not caring about the game). I don't want to vote for him because of that, and that's all I see as reasoning.

My second choice was Russ from the pings from last night, and I see others are toeing that suspicion, yet not sure whether to go for it. I believe I'll go there and see what happens.
And now, time for some fancy birthday victuals (AKA probably Taco Bell, because I'm a classy lady :noble: )

Re: The Donner Party - Day 2

Sorry for not being as active - I've been reading throughout the day while nursing a slight hangover (yay early bday shenanigans! Boo feeling terrible :( ). I see many have chosen to vote early to avoid last-minute weirdness? I say the weirdness happens regardless, but hey, I can see it both ways. Anyway, looked at Rico, of course, since he seems to be the top contender, and what's being said about him. A couple of things stood out to me that seemed to stand out to others. One, the poll posting comment (that it wasn't "his responsibility" and responding to Zomba with "yes" without a poll). I agree that seems rather un-Civ like, seeing as we're in this together. Two, he challenges anyone to see his comment about not voting for Epi as defending him, as he claims that it is not. But...it is defending him, in a way. Not strongly, but still stating "yeah, he could be Wasatch and know something, but I won't follow along." I see what Rico is saying (that he's not directly defending him, but stating his reasons for not following the train), but I also see it as a defense, nonetheless. I hope that made sense. Anyway, he is certainly a candidate for a vote for me, but I'd like to see if he has a case besides his own.

Um, this also got my attention in a bad way:
Russtifinko wrote:Hmm! Looks like Zombie suspects me. Not are it's anything I can really respond to, though...
Ricochet wrote:Fine, vote for me then. :sigh: I'm not defending myself as a cornered Hunger, I am defending myself as a civ mortified that everything I have done in D1 is now blowing up in my face simply because I did not respond to Epig's agressive and rousy banter and gameplay and such. Llama's points are indeed excellent for an easy hunt and lynch. They'll also highly circumstantial and blinding.

Why didn't I post what before?
What exactly pinged you about my interpretations of the vote result? What are you own interpretations?

I did not imply E. Donner had any real info. I did not imply we should go back and hunt from there on. I simply asked what others think, in new context. Same question for E. Donner's new message.

I think early and late are both bad timings, in general. I've seen the effects of both, so far, in the two games I've played so far. The early started lynch train for Epignosis now circumstancially seems like a great action, because he ended up flipping bad. You will have the opportunity to witness the opposite outcome, if you lynch me in the same manner. But you seem fine with wrapping up my trial as quick as Snowman urged it himself, so by all means.
This post strikes me as unusually astute for a new player. Epi almost always starts games trying to get a rise out of people and then lynching them, and Rico was smart enough to avoid it.

I don't support a Rico lynch today, and I regret supporting Epi's lunch yesterday. I was reading him as actually not concerned/not caring about being lunched, and it now seems apparent to me that he was angry about the info dump. So yes, Rico could be bad, but I think using info to get him if he is would be unfair of us, especially with a rotation likely impending and likely to render the dump moot.

I don't have any ideas on baddies we could possibly lunch before day's end who we didn't get info on, so I'll vote Zombie for suspecting me.
I'll get to what pinged me in a moment, but Rico's been called out for this "astuteness" in both games I've played with him. I don't know if he's bad in Film (I was lynched before I could find out partially because I made the same observation), so it'll be interesting to see if people are right about whether or not some of this "astuteness" comes from baddie BTSC (not all of it, though - you're still playing awesomely, Rico!) or just from pure newbie awesomeness.

What pinged me is Russ' jumping in to have a "placeholder" vote on MP (presumably because he thought the poll ended today?), then voting Zomba for suspecting him. Russ is usually quite specific and more...detail-oriented with his votes, so this seems extremely out of character. What's the deal?

My computer is pissing me off with its sudden slowness, and I have papers to grade. I'll check back periodically if it lets me actually check the site in a timely manner

Re: The Donner Party - Night 1

Ah, Clue. Still holds my record number of posts, even though I died so early. Good times :D

Good point about Donner. Forgot about that. I'm looking at roles and trying to come up with possible scenarios, but it seems it would be quite complicated with more than one factor (without secrets) for it to happen like it did. More thinking required. Also, why am I talking like Rorschach?

And @SVS, that's what I mean by the "probability thing," except I was combining it with the fact that LC seemed to have voted Epi in agreement with FZ's probability theory, as he was so-called "infodumping" to further prove FZ's point (further the probability). I did not say it quite so eloquently before.

Rob's such a troll.

Re: The Donner Party - Night 1

The way those two were playing, I had a feeling something weird like that would happen, especially with that last vote. I see a "lunch prevention" role but other than that...dunno about the self votes. And no other idea yet of why it went down like it did (including the no rotation).

Y'all are crazy. And I'm going with 1, because I am so :noble:

Metalmarsh89 wrote:Can we not lynch Epi? I wanted to play mafia with him.
Agreed. I thought I'd see some insight reading through the thread why he and LC are the top candidates. It seems Epi's being voted for being Epi. Let the man play, for God's sake! :P LC seems to be voted because of (possibly fake?) infodumping, even though others have seemingly done the same, and given this as a reason to vote Epi (the whole "it's probability" thing). And now LC's voted himself. So many self votes and switches. Is there something I'm missing? There's definitely some weirdness going on here. Weird game. So let's make it interesting.

Let's make it a tie and see what happens. :ponder:

Re: The Donner Party - Day 1

This game is going to be crazy confusing. I do agree with MP that if Civs at any point want any chance of survival/winning, they would have to devise ways to "tell" if a former/current/whatever BTSC-mate is acting bad.

Ugh, but that's about all I can understand at the moment. I hope mechanisms become a bit more clear after Day 1 (or Night 1)? We can at least see what might happen in a Day/Night cycle.

I'm here! Sorry I'm the latest - I tend to work until nearly 5 and have a 25 minute commute. Today was an early day  I'll vote E, because it's the most common English vowel. Also, English is the shit.
